Phone mast protests

Ilford Recorder

30 June 2005

DETERMINED residents are preparing to do battle in the High Court to stop a mobile phone mast being put up in a conservation area close to a primary school.

Last month, a planning inspector overturned Redbridge Council's refusal and allowed T-Mobile's appeal, granting planning permission for the 11.7m high mast on land adjacent to the Bowling Club, Aldersbrook Road , Wanstead.

Mother-of-three Elizabeth Canavan, of Merlin Road, Wanstead, rushed to stop work on the site on Monday afternoon and was soon joined by reinforcements.

Sitting on a mound of soil with her 15-month old daughter Eva, Mrs Canavan said she is "completely determined" to protect children at nearby Aldersbrook Primary School, Harpenden Road, Wanstead, from a potential cancer risk.

The protesters have set up Aldersbrook Residents Mast Solution (ARMS) and served papers on the planning inspectorate on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, a group of angry Newbury Park residents staged a protest on Saturday against plans to erect a mast in the heart of their community.

FAMILY’S MAST FEARS FOR EPILEPTIC DAUGHTER

30/06/2005 Woking News and Mail

By PHILIP SKELTON

A GOLDSWORTH Park family claims it is prepared to sell the family home and move if an application to place a fourth mobile phone mast nearby is approved.

Ade and Carol Gray, from Westmead are worried for their daughter, eight, who suffers from epilepsy, following a plan to build a mast at the junction of Wyndham Road and Lockfield Drive that would make a total of four in the area.

Although the application for a fourth mast was refused by Woking’s planning committee on Tuesday June 14, residents living in the area believe it is likely the applicant Vodafone will launch an appeal against the council’s decision.

If successful, this appeal would overturn the council’s refusal and the mast would be built regardless of concerns about health.

Mr and Mrs Gray have managed to control their daughter’s condition with carefully selected medication but they fear that if a fourth mast is placed close to their house it could prompt their daughter to suffer further seizures.

Their fears are founded on independent research, which they claim shows radiation from phone masts can make a sufferer’s epilepsy worse or even trigger the condition in other people.

Mr and Mrs Gray spoke about a case study published last year that focused on a girl from Wales.

Her epilepsy was successfully controlled to the age of six and with the help of medication she was able to limit her seizures to one a month on average.

After a mobile phone mast was put in place these increased to four every day yet stopped when she was taken away from the property and when the mast was switched off.

The Gray family also spoke about other health concerns they claim are increasingly found in people living near to phone masts.

These include learning, concentration and behavioural disorders, fluctuations in blood pressure, cancer, headaches and tinnitus.
Speaking from his home in Westmead, Ade Gray said: “We are the experiment.

“If we stay living here and a fourth mast goes up, our children will be part of the experiment.

“If our child’s epilepsy suddenly worsens after years of being well-controlled or if anything else happens to any of us, we will form part of the statistics concerning the safety or otherwise of these masts.

“So will all the other people living near to these masts.

“We are all involuntary live subjects for this real-life experiment while money and profit are being put first.

“Where are the people who will stand up and strongly question the claim that these masts are safe?

“The government should be objectively protecting the public from potential danger when health suspicions are raised instead of hoping they will go away.”

Goldsworth East councillor Bryan Cross said: “I very much support Mr and Mrs Gray.

“I do not think the Gray family should be put in such a position where they have to move house to ensure their family’s quality of life.

“I respect that they have been very consistent in voicing their concerns wherever mobile phone masts applications have been lodged in residential areas and not just in Lockfield Drive.

“I very much share similar concerns and I am concerned with the inability for any member of the public to ascertain the true position regarding the health effects of mobile phones masts.”

AGENCY CALLED IN TO LOOK AT PHONE MAST HEALTH EFFECTS

Tamworth Herald

10:30 - 30 June 2005

The Health Protection Agency has been called in to analyse the results of a survey which appears to show that a high number of Coleshill residents and schoolchildren are suffering with health problems.

Warwickshire County Council has asked the independent agency - set up to provide protection against health dangers including radiation - to investigate residents' fears about phone masts.

The news comes after dozens of parents temporarily withdrew their children from St Edward's Catholic Primary School and Warwickshire County Council called for a mast next to the school to be removed.

County council officials say the health of the children at the school is 'a prime concern' and, although emissions tests conducted on behalf of mast owners O2 showed levels 995 times below the permitted maximum, the authority opposes the mast 'on a matter of principle'.

Eric Wood, county education officer, said: "We will support anything that we can do to remove it, and would urge O2 to relocate the mast for the peace of mind of the local community."

Gill Owen, headteacher of St Edward's, said: "Like the parents I am uneasy about the presence of the mast, and I am happy for them to campaign against it. But I would ask that they continue to conduct matters through the appropriate channels, and ensure that their children's education continues unaffected while this matter is being resolved."

However, parents say they plan to protest again from 9am on Friday and every Friday until the matter is resolved.

Oxidative Damage in the Kidney Induced by 900-MHz-Emitted Mobile Phone: Protection by Melatonin

Study

From the abstract: The aim of this study was to examine 900-MHz mobile phone-induced oxidative stress that promotes production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) on renal tubular damage and the role of melatonin on kidney tissue against possible oxidative damage in rats. The results show that melatonin may exhibit a protective effect on mobile phone-induced renal impairment in rats.

Phone mast is a 'gamble with our lives'

This group used the same tactics as we did in our local campaign. At proposal stage we collected 800+ petition and everyone said they would not use 3G phones. Campaigners should add this box to their petitions as it gives operators the info they don't want to hear - people don't want this new technology with the higher risks involved.

Phone mast is a 'gamble with our lives'

Jun 30 2005

Berkshire News website

By Richard Crowe

BRACKNELL campaigners say their health and the look of the neighbourhood will suffer if a 9.7m mobile phone mast is built near their homes.

Phone company T-Mobile wants to place the 3G mast and equipment cabins on land near Harvest Ride's junction with Newell Green in Warfield.

But angry neighbours say the mast is too close to their homes and that there is inconclusive proof that radiation beaming to a surrounding 250 metre radius will not be dangerous to their health.

Omega: The result of the Naila-Study shows that the proportion of newly developing cancer cases was significantly higher among those patients who had lived during the past ten years at a distance of up to 400 metres from the cellular transmitter site, which bas been in operation since 1993, compared to those patients living further away, and that the patients fell ill on average 8 years earlier.
http://omega.twoday.net/stories/398279

They are also concerned about the effect on nearby Larks Hill Nature Reserve and dangers the equipment cabins could have for drivers turning out of Newell Green and Harvest Ride.

Daryl Peagram, who lives with wife Edwina in nearby Hemmyng Corner, has founded Warfield Householders Against Masts (WHAM), which has collected 87 signatures for a petition.

The 34-year-old, who is technical director of Winkfield-based recruitment consultants Delta Compliance Ltd, has lobbied Bracknell MP Andrew MacKay and Warfield and Binfield ward borough councillors. He is even considering disabling the signal if all else fails.

Mr Peagram said: "Obviously the best way to stop this mast is to write to the councillors and urge them to reject it.

"But if it does go up and get switched on, I would wait until there is proof from doctors' reports that the mast is affecting health before trying to disable its signal with specialist equip-ment."

He added: "Forty-seven scientific reports say mast radiation causes anything from cancer to infertility. I hope the council will not gamble with our lives that all those scientists are wrong."

Mr Peagram said only one person questioned for the petition needed a 3G signal.

Borough council planners may consider the application at a committee meeting on July 28.

Mr MacKay has written to borough environment and leisure director Vincent Paliczka objecting to the application.

The MP commented: "I share the concerns of local residents who have approached me that this is quite an inappropriate site for a telecommunications mast.

"I believe that the mobile phone operators should get their act together and share masts where there is a limited number of sites to place them."

T-Mobile spokeswoman Sophia Parviez said radiowaves from nearby base stations compared favourably to exposure from distant masts and from TV and FM radio and other transmitters.

She said the company understood the challenge of minimising the environmental impact.

MP meets minister to voice mast concerns

by Johnathan Schroder

Enfield Independent

Enfield Southgate MP David Burrowes is pushing for new laws to clamp down on the proliferation' of mobile telephone masts in residential areas.

He had a meeting with Jim Fitzpatrick, a minister in the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, yesterday after joining more than 40 residents of Slades Hill, Enfield , at a protest on Saturday morning.

The group, who are concerned about the effect a 30-foot mobile mast would have on their health and property values, have just lost a year-long fight with telecommunications giant Orange , after the application was turned down by Enfield Council but passed on appeal by the Planning Inspectorate.

The deadline for residents to appeal against that decision at the High Court passed on Friday.

Elsa Evans, who lives in Slades Hill opposite the proposed site, admits residents have probably lost the fight against Orange as they would be unable to afford the high costs associated with taking out a civil action.

She said: "We have gone down kicking and screaming.

"I am going to have my home valued now and then again when the mast is there. I feel like the values of our homes are being snatched away."

Mr Burrowes is angry because he feels current Government legislation does not take local issues into account.

He said: "While the council does what it can, and in many cases refuses permission, it can only do so much.

"People have the choice of whether to buy a mobile phone, but at the moment residents have no choice about a mast being put on their doorstep.

"Especially with new 3G technology, there is the prospect of many more masts, which is a real concern."

He has appealed to Mr Fitzpatrick for changes in the law and has promised to carry on lobbying on behalf of residents.

'VOTERGATE' PREVIEW AVAILABLE ONLINE

From Alyssa Macy
Center for Civic Participation
June 30, 2005

http://www.centerforcivicparticipation.org

In preparation for the upcoming release of the full-length version of the documentary film "Votergate," which investigates electoral irregularities in the 2004 election process, a free 30-minute webcast preview http://votergate.org/ has been made available. The documentary, for which the Commonweal Institute played an advisory role in its early stages, explores the still-unresolved questions surrounding the use of electronic voting machines and the possibility of electoral error or even manipulation.

The film-makers -- Simon Ardizzone, Russell Michaels and Robert Carrillo Cohen -- have "traveled the country, recording elections, bewildered voters, activists protesting, corporate and government officials trying to cover up the flaws in the voting system. [They] have filmed investigations by pioneering activists, such as Bev Harris, interviewed the key players, including whistleblowers, politicians and the leading computer scientists who have proven the machines can be hacked by a 16 year old."

The online preview of "Votergate" is an initial glimpse into what they found. Check it out:

42% FAVOR IMPEACHING BUSH

IF HE LIED ABOUT IRAQ WAR, Zogby Poll

More than "two-in-five voters (42%) say they would favor impeachment proceedings if it is found the President misled the nation about his reasons for going to war with Iraq," according to the latest Zogby Poll.

The poll was taken between June 27 and June 29 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.3%. Following Bush's nationally-televised speech this week his approval rating dropped again to 43%.

A large majority of Democrats (59%) say that Bush should be impeached if he lied about Iraq and one out of every four Republicans (25%) say that they would favor impeachment under those circumstances, according to the Poll. Forty three percent of independent voters favor impeachment if Bush lied about the Iraq war.

We know that Bush lied about Iraq war. We know that he should be impeached. It is because of the work of everyone, and the support of those who are promoting impeachment, that this movement can become an irresistible force in the months ahead. The ImpeachBush/VoteToImpeach.org campaign is taking the next steps in the coming months. We are launching a nationwide campaign so that every Congressional representative is flooded with calls for impeachment.

Let's all pledge to tell everyone we know to be in Washington DC on September 24 for the massive ImpeachBush/VoteToImpeach.org contingent. The bright yellow and black banners that say Impeach Bush will dominate the visual landscape around the White House on September 24. This is something historic. Please ask everyone to do their part to make it a big success.

If you can make a donation to help this movement get stronger there is no better time than right now. We are a grassroots movement. Corporate America finances Bush but the ImpeachBush/VoteToImpeach.org movement depends on the commitment and sacrifice of the people.

Also bitte! Alles gut gemeint.

[Zitat:]

(Frage:) Kann man also sorglos mit seinem Handy telefonieren?

Nun, was liegt da nahe?

Vorschlag an Herrn Dr. Enders übersandt.

Climate change, the biggest threat facing our planet, is at the top of the agenda at the G8. Now is the time to demand radical action to deliver climate justice.

Climate change will devastate some of the world's poorest countries. G8 countries represent just 13% of the world's people, but account for 45% of climate emissions.

The G8 leaders must show international leadership and agree to take action to significantly reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.

Tabuzonen für Funkmasten

01.07.2005

Volksbegehren startet am 5. Juli - Mehr Rechte für Kommunen und Bürger

Weiden.

Help to close the Dolphin Tank at Manati Park Bavaro

Thank you very much for having signed the Petition "Help to close the Dolphin Tank at Manati Park Bavaro!!!" http://www.thePetitionSite.com/takeaction/309558120

You have supported this petition together with more then 3.100 other people interested in this issue. Unfortunately - so far - it is a very difficult struggle in the Dominican Republic to reach our goal to free these dolphins and to make an end to their suffering and their current situation of being misused in tiny tanks for entertainment and money making.

THERE IS HOPE NOW: the authorities in the Dominican Republic have changed lately and seem to be more interested in nature and animal conservation and therefore - to reach our common goal to free these dolphins - it would be a perfect time if it is possible for you to write just a one sentence email to the responsible autorities addressed to:

areasprotegidas@medioambiente.gov.do
bcc: freemanatidolphins@gmx.net

Lic. Daneris Santana
Subsecretario de Areas Protegidas y Biodiversidad
Secretaria de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales

Honourable Sir

please finally close the Manati Park dolphin tank and release these dolphins to the wild!

Thank you

- not more - just a sentence similar like this - but if more then 3100 people who signed the online petition could write just a one sentence letter NOW to the authorities we might finally reach our goal.

Thanks for supporting this effort.

Tour "Courage to the Parliament" gegen Softwarepatente

The nation weeps as Bush lies

06/28/05

George W. Bush knows no shame. Having presided over the deaths of 1,700-7,000 American kids, for lies he propagated, President Bush used tonight's message to extend his lies, and launch new, brazen mistruths. George Bush proved one thing tonight. He cares not what the American people think, and he further thinks they are too stupid to realize when they are being repeatedly lied to. The President's lies are in bold, followed by the truth... [a detailed annotated review of each of the flood of lies Bush told]

Federal funding for mental health screening of kids

06/27/05

On Friday Congress defeated an amendment I introduced that would have prevented the federal government from moving forward with an Orwellian program to mandate mental health screening of kids in schools. This program, recommended by a presidential commission, has not yet been established at the federal level. However, your tax dollars are being given to states that apply for grants to establish their own programs -- and a full-fledged program run by the Department of Health and Human Services is on the way. ... The psychiatric establishment and the pharmaceutical industry of course support government mental health screening programs in schools, because they both stand to benefit from millions of new customers...

Who's in the army now

06/30/05

As we're often told, 1 million men and women serve in the U.S. Army. So, why is it such a strain to keep a mere 150,000 in Iraq? What are the other 850,000 doing? Why can't some of them be sent there, too? And if they really can't be spared from their current tasks, what broader inferences can be drawn about America's military policy? Should we bring back the draft to provide more boots on the ground -- or, alternatively, scale back our global ambitions so fewer boots will be needed? First, let's look at those million soldiers. Who are they? The Web site GlobalSecurity.org has a pie chart breaking them down into categories. It turns out that fewer than 40 percent of them -- 391,460 -- are combat soldiers. And fewer than 40 percent of those combat soldiers -- 149,406 -- are members of the active armed forces. (The rest are in the National Guard and Army Reserve.)

Constitutional hypocrisy and the desecration amendment

07/01/05

A day after championing passage of the flag desecration amendment in the House of Representatives as a victory for mom, apple pie, and the American way, conservative radio talk show hosts took to the airwaves and chastised the United States Supreme Court for its decision upholding the power of cities to take private property for private development projects. This decision, according to many conservative hosts, is an assault on private property and the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution for the United States. Apparently, conservative talk show hosts have been blinded by the red, white and blue and cannot distinguish one assault on private property from another. Since the flag desecration amendment, at its core, is nothing but an assault on private property under the guise of patriotism, their commentaries on the relationship between private property and freedom went from historical fact to constitutional hypocrisy...

Moral cowards in hiding

07/01/05

Increasing numbers of Americans now realize that they had allowed themselves to be gulled. But so deep was their psychic investment in Mr. Bush's necktie party, that most were unwilling to cut their losses, admit to egregious moral error on their part, and demand an end to the continuation of the deadly fraud. Because the flag had become an expression of war-mania, these people no longer felt comfortable hiding behind it. What evolved from this foggy state of moral confusion were the bumper-stickers with the words 'peace is patriotic' superimposed over a picture of the flag. One could thus appear to be both a patriot -- even as the government continued its butchery -- and an advocate of peace!

Some tricky ideas to watch out for

06/30/05

Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712-1778) was a very influential social and political philosopher who argued that although human nature is benign and good, society has corrupted us all and now we are pretty nasty and also 'everywhere in chains.' He also defended the dubious idea of 'the general will,' some superhuman source of obligation we must all obey, out of which grew all kinds of harmful collectivist ideas that are used by some folks to rationalize the violation of individual rights. Rousseau's notion of the innocent and good savage, corrupted by society, is actually a great confusion. If we are all so nice and gentle to begin with, how come society turned out to be so nasty and mean? What is society, anyway, other than large assemblies of human beings; so if society is making us all nasty, it is, of course, people who are making us nasty...

Bush the melting

07/01/05

Pride may goeth before the fall, but with politicians like George W. Bush, far too much time separates the pride part from the fall part. The damage that he has wrought in this country and the world goes beyond accurate enumeration -- most of it made possible because he has been able to use 9-11 as his grand excuse to pose as God's sword to smite his political enemies at home and abroad. He should have slunk away after 9-11, having failed miserably in his primary duty, but instead he used a crisis for personal and governmental aggrandizement. That's the pride part. Now, however, his fortunes have changed dramatically -- with the fall part finally kicking in. Many of us remember that Clinton was highly unpopular -- in fact, I recall sensing that he was the most hated president of my lifetime. Well, his highest disapproval rating in his two terms was 33 percent. I can recall feeling buoyed by the knowledge that fully one-third of the public hated the president. But now look at the newest ABC News poll: Bush's disapproval rating is 51 percent -- not nearly as high as it should be, but enough to give any freedom lover a lift...

PHONE MAST PLANNED IN BUSY HOUSING AREA

This is Somerset

18:00 - 30 June 2005

A 12-metre communications mast could be put up in one of Wells' busiest residential areas. Telecommunications company 3 are in the process of getting their hands on a site on or near St Thomas Street and at the moment the disused petrol station on Bath Road is top of their list of potential locations.

The telecommunications equipment that they wish to install comprises a 12-metre high slimline monopole, painted to match the streetlamps in the area, incorporating three antennae and a 20cm transmission dish.

The plans have not yet been formally submitted to Mendip District Council, but a consultation document has been given to Wells City Council asking for their comments on the proposal.

The company 3 say that this site has been chosen because "it provides the required level of coverage for this mainly residential area" and "the siting and design maximises the distances from as many residential properties as possible and also maintains the space between existing street lamps".

They claim that the design of the mast will minimise the visual and environmental impact on the surrounding area, but at 12-metres high it will be considerably taller than the neighbouring streetlamps.

Seven alternative sites in the vicinity have been considered and discounted.

St Thomas 's Church was deemed unsuitable because it would require development in a conservation area, and two locations on the former hospital site were also dismissed for the same reason.

Consideration was given to sites on either side of the entrance to Hawkers Lane but the tall trees on one side would have interfered with the coverage and the on the other side it would be too close to a house.

A site on the open grassed land on Woodbury Avenue was discounted because the installation would be too prominent and a location on the western side of the entrance to the former garage site could not be used because the bus stop and street lamp meant that there was not enough space for the equipment.

Last week Wells City Council's planning committee decided that they needed more information before commenting on the proposal and questioned the necessity for it to be situated in the St Thomas area at all.

Mayor of Wells Norman Kennedy said: "The document they gave us was a waste of time.

"It left too many questions unanswered." Health risks relating to mobile telephones have been hitting the headlines recently.

Wells county councillor John Osman expressed his concerns about the potential dangers.

He said: "I am deeply concerned about this application going forward.

"It is too close to homes and I remain to be convinced that an installation such as this will pose no danger." But 3 say that emissions from this type of installation meet the guidelines for public exposure set by the International Commission on Non-Ionising Radiation Protection and as such will pose no danger to neighbouring residents.

Omega the guidelines are obsolete and pose danger to neighbouring residents. Read under: http://omega.twoday.net/stories/771911/

RISKS OF MASTS ARE SHOWN IN RESEARCH

This is Somerset

18:00 - 30 June 2005

I applaud the Norton-Radstock town councillors who have rejected plans for a mobile phone mast in First Avenue, Westfield. However, it is a shame that Cllrs Flyff McLaren and Rob Appleyard supported the plans and fail to understand the health risks associated with the electromagnetic radiation emitted from these masts.

They are wrong to suggest there is no evidence of health risks.

Independent research regularly proves this technology is unsafe. Look at the Mast Sanity website for all the evidence.

Cllr Appleyard also fails to understand that the harm from these masts does not come from the power or the heating effect of these emissions.

The concern is the biological effect on the body, the ability to alter human cells.

Brainwave patterns pulse on a similar frequency to the low-level radiation emitted by these masts.

Independent research shows that it is this pulsing frequency of the radiation emitted that causes headaches, sleep disturbance, rashes and fatigue.

More worryingly, it also reduces melatonin, the cancer fighting hormone, being released from the pineal gland. This is why there are ill-health clusters around these masts.

Comparing mast emissions to those from satellite dishes and television aerials is preposterous because their emissions are not pulsed.

Current International Commission for Non-Ionising Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) guidelines were adopted by government in 1992, in the technology's infancy, after subjecting animals to 20 minutes of mast electromagnetic radiation and then pronouncing it safe to humans.

These guidelines are set 9,000 times too high - human cells start to be affected at 9,000 times below the current limit.

'The Late Edition': Complaints to the BBC

I am disgusted to report that the BBC has tricked Ingrid Dickenson, Scientific Director of Mast Sanity into giving an interview that was later used in a comedy programme.

Mast Sanity and Ingrid were given assurances that the interview was going to be used seriously. Instead the interview and Acousticom demonstration was edited and the subject of side effects from mobile phone use was mocked.

Mast Sanity will make an official complaint to the BBC. The programme was the Late Edition broadcast BBC2 at 11:50pm last night.

Yesterday Mast Sanity representatives met with the Dept. of Trade and Industry, and there was a debate in the House of Commons this week. Yet the BBC chooses to treat the whole subject as a joke. They would not do this with smoking or a train crash.

Dear Alasdair

As discussed, I did not get the whole interview on tape. But I discussed mainly the radiation levels from masts and their health implications for the best of three hours including the German research and Freiburger Appeal.

I specifically talked about mobile phone signals in the context of the com meter only because I don't register any mast emissions on my ground floor where the interview was filmed. So when I talked about signals from mobiles I only referred to the readings at the time. My further comments about me wishing to be wrong where regarding the research about health effects NOT the meter readings. Although I explained the safety levels, this was not shown. I just was shown saying that the meter would indicate the levels in the home. Although I referred to mast emissions, at the time of the reading I obviously talked about phone emissions because this was all I could measure. The editing was done in a way which made people think that the meter would only measure the presence of mobiles in the near vacinity - obvious material for a joke! None of the serious discussions between me and their `Scientist' were shown. After my demonstration of the meters the clip finished and the Interviewer asked Robin Inz, the producer of the programme:

"Well I think she propably was wrong (that's referring to my out of context shown remark about wishing to be wrong about the health effects). So that's a mercy anyway. ( hysterical laughter on the show!)

What Robin in god's name was that box?

Robin: It was basically science in a box. That's how it works (hysterical laughter again) - using electromagnetic force and transistors.

Interwiewer: " And you can buy one of those in Wollies or something like that?

Robin: Well there are two different way in detecting where mobile phones are. You can use that box or you can go (pointing and making a funny face) "He's using one!" It's quite..( whilst waving his arms in the air and making a funny face followed by hysterical laughter again)

Interviewer: Ya, a more old fashioned system but nonetheless a reliable means of knowing where they are. Well Robin while you're still able to be with us and not taken by some dreadful disease, thank you very much for your fascinating insight - Robin Inz! (laughter and clapping)

Subject: Re: BBC interview request

I have seen the `edited' version of my interview on tonight's `The Late Edition' and I am disgusted about the way the BBC used me. You have edited the interview in a way which made me look rediculous and made a mockery of the whole subject. A lot of people who suffer the `real effects' of pulsed microwave radiation will be outraged about the way you made fun of their suffering. What does that say for the BBC?

I had `absolute repeated assurances' prior to the interview that this subject would be treated seriously and I feel utterly betrayed by the BBC. I did NOT agree to take part in a comedy!

I have asked MastSanity to make an official complaint as this interview was conducted under false pretences. I must insist that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should this `edited' version of my interview be repeated. I never thought that the BBC could sink that low as to make false promises!

Ingrid Dickenson

--------

If you receive this I just want to add that I too am completely outraged by this extremely unethical and abusive behaviour by the BBC.

Best Wishes
Gary Kemp

--------

Same here!

Don't the Press Complaints Authority deal with this type of thing? The fact that there was deception on a grand scale involved here must surely be grounds for action by a regulator.

The fact that OFCOM are regulators of the BBC now says is all - they're as unaccountable as the operators!

Denn was in Attendorn in Sachen Mobilfunk geschieht, findet anderswo in Deutschland interessierte Beobachter.
