Harassment on Fox TV

Sun, 22 Aug 2004 19:42:10 -0500

Sueann Campbell is an anti gang stalking and electronic harassment activist from the Austin, Texas area:

There has been a big fight going on in Austin over free speech and the new plan proposed by the board of directors of the local public access TV channel (ACTV). Basically, the board of this first in the nation public access cable channel wants to first stop the free speech shows from airing, and finally shut it down altogether.

Patriot broadcaster Alex Jones is one of the free speech shows, who is partly responsible for this small station's having ratings higher than public television in Austin.

It started last month with several meetings with the city counsel, ACTV board, and producers. Producers and public fans filled the rooms each time. In addition, two counsel members are being recalled for their votes on toll roads. (a scandalous 8 roads that are already paid for by the taxpayer) The public feels that the purpose of these toll booths is to impede traffic flow and rob people of what little money they have left. (Austin lags behind Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio in job opportunity.)

Often I am involved in these activities, if nothing else, just to tape the meeting and turn over the tape to Alex Jones and other ACTV producers. This provides opportunity to wear the anti gang stalking Tee shirt and this often starts some kind of dialogue.

Today, I stopped by the gun show. Friends who have tables there appreciate a little help when packing up their tables. Naturally, I wore my gang stalking t-shirt. A lady stopped by the table and started asking questions. I gave her a flyer and we continued to talk.

"Yeah." she said. "They harass the victim in such a way that it makes the victim look crazy."

"How did you know?" I asked. "Are you being harassed?"

"No." she replied. "I saw it on TV."

"You're kidding!" I said. "What channel?"

"It was on the Fox channel." she said.

"Who would dare air this story?" I asked.

"Bill O'Rilley." she said.

"When did you see this on Bill O'Rilley?"

"Earlier this year." she said

"Did you tape the show?" I asked.

"No, but it was on just a couple of months ago."

Does anyone out there watch Bill O'Rilley? Did anyone tape this show?
The lady says our story is there! (Or at least part of it.)

UK Information commissioner criticises ID-card

In an interview with The Times newspaper on 16 August, the UK Information Commissioner, Richard Thomas, has warned against the danger of 'sleepwalking into a surveillance society', as a result of ID cards and other plans. Mr Thomas said he was also uneasy about plans for a population register and a database of every child. He used General Franco's Spain as an example of what can happen when a state knows too much about its citizens.

Thomas said, although he is not for or against an ID card scheme itself, he was concerned about the government's failure to spell out their exact purpose. "The government has changed its line over the last two or three years as to what the card is intended for. You have to have clarity. Is it for the fight against terrorism? Is it to promote immigration control? Is it to provide access to public benefits and services?"

On 30 July 2004, a UK parliamentary committee wrote a similarly critical report and concluded that objections against the ID-card should not be lightly dismissed and that the proposed scheme to introduce biometric identity cards will 'represent a significant change in the relationships between the state and the individual in this country.'

Literally the Commissioner told The Times: "My anxiety is that we don't sleepwalk into a surveillance society where much more information is collected about people, accessible to far more people shared across many more boundaries, than British society would feel comfortable with."

According to an online BBC news item, a spokesman for the Home Office said the government remained committed to its plans for national identity cards which would, among other things, protect people against identity fraud and organised crime.

Mr Thomas also questioned the plans for a childrens database, championed by Margaret Hodge, Minister of State for Children. Mrs Hodge already won the Big Brother Award on 28 July 2004 as 'Worst public servant' for the plan. Under the scheme, every child would have a unique number which would enable the different organisations that come into contact with children, such as social services, police and educational bodies to share information.

Mr Thomas told the Times: "There are reasons why we need to promote better information sharing where children are at risk, but whether the answer is to create a database of every child in the country should be questioned."

INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS (IAFF) VOTES TO STUDY HEALTH EFFECTS OF CELL TOWERS ON FIRE STATIONS

Call for Moratorium on New Cell Towers on Fire Stations Until Health Effects Can Be Studied

Boston, MA – August 23, 2004 – Firefighters returned to their home stations throughout the United States and Canada following last week’s IAFF convention after passing a resolution to study the health effects of cell towers placed on the fire stations where they work and live.

Added to the resolution was an amendment calling for the IAFF to support a moratorium on the placement of new cell towers on fire stations until the completion of the study.

In many parts of the U.S. and Canada, the wireless industry has sought to place cell towers on fire stations because of their strategic locations. Fire stations tend to be located in densely populated areas, many of them near main highways, making them attractive locations for cell towers to maximize coverage. The wireless industry is not alone in the benefits of placing cell towers on these stations. Municipalities receive revenue from the wireless companies in exchange for locating the antennas on fire station property.

Lt. Ron Cronin of the Brookline, MA Fire Department and Acting Lt. Joe Foster of the Vancouver Fire Department and Vice President of Vancouver, B.C. Local #18 spearheaded the passage of the resolution.

Lt. Cronin said, “Some firefighters with cell towers currently located on their stations are experiencing symptoms that put our first responders at risk. It is important to be sure we understand what effects these towers may have on the firefighters living in these stations. If the jakes in the fire house are suffering from headaches, can’t respond quickly and their ability to make decisions is clouded by a sort of brain fog, then entire communities they are protecting will clearly be at risk.”

A recent pilot study of six California firefighters, first publicly revealed at the IAFF convention by medical writer and study organizer Susan Foster Ambrose of San Diego, CA, raises concern about the safety of fire fighters working and sleeping in stations with towers.

The study, conducted by Dr. Gunnar Heuser of Agoura Hills, CA, focused on neurological symptoms of six firefighters who had been working for up to five years in stations with cell towers. Those symptoms included slowed reaction time, lack of focus, lack of impulse control, severe headaches, anesthesia-like sleep, sleep deprivation, depression, and tremors.

Dr. Heuser, along with Dr. J. Michael Uszler of Santa Monica, CA, used functional brain scans - SPECT scans - to assess any changes in the brains of the six firefighters as compared to healthy brains of men of the same age. Computerized psychological testing known as TOVA was used to study reaction time, impulse control, and attention span.

Disturbingly, the SPECT scans revealed a pattern of abnormal change which was concentrated over a wider area than would normally be seen in brains of individuals exposed to toxic inhalation, as might be expected from fighting fires. Dr. Heuser indicated the only plausible explanation at this time would be RF radiation exposure. Additionally, the TOVA testing revealed among the six firefighters delayed reaction time, lack of impulse control, and difficulty in maintaining mental focus.

Because of increasing complaints among firefighters with cellular antennas on their stations coupled with the California study showing damage among the six firefighters tested, a group of five individuals spread across two provinces and three states worked with Southern California firefighters to draft the resolution put before the IAFF membership last week. Lt. Ron Cronin and Acting Lt. Joe Foster were joined by Dr. Magda Havas of Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario, Vermont-based Janet Newton - president of the EMR Policy Institute, and Susan Foster Ambrose.

“It is imperative to understand that in spite of the build out of an extensive wireless infrastructure in the U.S. and Canada,” explained Ambrose, “we have no safety standards for cell towers. There are only regulatory standards, not proven safety standards. The Heuser Study in California calls into question whether or not we are sacrificing the health and well being of our countries’ first responders for the convenience of a technology we’ve come to rely upon.”

Considering approximately 80 percent of the firefighters attending last week’s convention voted in favor of a medical study with the spirit of a cell tower moratorium attached, it appears firefighters throughout the U.S. and Canada share that concern.

This study has far-reaching public health implications in view of the fact that the wireless industry pays local governments to place cell towers, not only on fire stations, but also on top of schools and municipal buildings.

Protect the Tongass National Forest

Bush administration takes aim at wild forests

Your online action is urgently needed to save some of America's last wild forests from Bush administration plans for clearcutting and drilling.

Please go to
http://www.savebiogems.org/tongass/takeaction.asp
right away and send a message telling the Forest Service to keep untouched wildlands in our national forests closed to roadbuilding and destruction.

Four years ago, we helped persuade President Clinton to enact the Roadless Area Conservation Rule that protects 58 million wild acres in our national forests that do not yet have roads cut through them.

From Alaska's Tongass rainforest to the Appalachian Trail, from the Rocky Mountains to the Sierra Nevada, this historic measure put some of America's greatest sanctuaries for wildlife and for people off limits to road building, logging and drilling so that their timeless beauty would remain untouched forever.

The roadless rule was the most popular conservation measure in history. Americans flooded the Forest Service with more than 1.5 million messages of support.

But today, the Bush administration is preparing to override the will of the American people. It has announced plans to eliminate the roadless rule and strip some of America's last wild forests of their special status and protection.

The administration's agenda is no secret. It is lining up massive timber and energy sales that will send an armada of bulldozers and chainsaws, as well as oil and gas rigs, into our last untrammeled forests.

We must not surrender our forests without a fight. We need millions of Americans to speak out once again in defense of our wild forests.

The Bush administration is taking public comments until September 14th on its disastrous plan to reopen our wild forests to logging. The Forest Service needs to hear from people like you, people who know that nature is a fragile gift we hold in trust for future generations.

Please go to
http://www.savebiogems.org/tongass/takeaction.asp
right away and send a message telling the Forest Service to uphold the roadless rule and defend our wild forests. Then forward this message to as many of your friends and family as possible and tell them to speak out, too.

For the sake of our forests, please make your voice heard today.

Sincerely,

John H. Adams

"Brutality And Purposeless Sadism"

August 25, 2004

An independent investigative panel led by former Secretary of Defense James Schlesinger and including another former defense secretary, Harold Brown, found that current Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld is at least partially responsible for the torture that occurred in the Abu Ghraib prison between October and December 2003. Calling the 300 alleged instance of abuse "brutality and purposeless sadism," the panel blamed the entire chain of top-level generals and military officials, including Rumsfeld, Gen. Tommy Franks and Gen. John P. Abizaid. "The aberrant behavior on the night shift in Cell Block 1 at Abu Ghraib would have been avoided with proper training, leadership and oversight," the report reads.

Wacky Weather Continues Worldwide

Unknown Country

http://www.unknowncountry.com/

24-Aug-2004

Violent storms in the ocean off the U.K. and Ireland are ripping off huge chunks of cliffs and hurling the rocks long distances inland-distances scientists didn't think were possible. And a tornado has been seen at 12,000 feet in Sequoia National Park in the U.S., making it the highest elevation tornado ever recorded. This is something new, since tornadoes are a sea level phenomenon.

Tornadoes need the dense, humid air of the lower atmosphere to give them their energy. This high-altitude tornado is additional evidence that we can expect radical changes in weather patterns as the temperature difference between the stratosphere and the troposphere increases. The lower atmosphere, the troposphere, is retaining more and more heat due to rising levels of methane and carbon dioxide, while the stratosphere is getting colder because the heat is no longer reaching it. This is a major cause of the increase in violent weather that has recently been observed worldwide. It is also the reason that forecasters keep underestimating the power of storms, as happened with Hurricane Charley, which was expected to decline to a tropical storm before it struck the Florida coast. Instead, it became a Category 4 hurricane.

In the North Atlantic, storms are creating waves over 65 feet high, which are powerful enough to tear rocks off ancient cliffs and throw them inland in places like the Shetland, Orkney and Western islands in Scotland and the Arran islands in Ireland. Some of these rocks weigh around 50 tons. Since this kind of erosion is recent, it must be caused by rising sea levels and sinking coastlines, due to global warming.

Geomorphologist Jim Hansom says, "When I was asked to investigate the reason for hundreds of boulders piled up inland from [65 foot] high cliffs, I did not believe that waves could be responsible. The boulders were just to big and too heavy. But now we can show it is occurring and at an ever increasing rate."

America retools military to rule oil and Muslims

America retools military to rule oil and Muslims
by Eric Margolis

Paris - Last week's announcement that 70,000 U.S. troops would be withdrawn from Germany and South Korea is an event of major geopolitical importance.

However, far from reducing the 257,000 troops overseas in over 100 foreign bases, the Bush administration intends to intensify global military operations even though under-manned, over-committed U.S. armed forces are stretched to the breaking point.

The largest withdrawals will be from Germany. Two heavy divisions, the 1st Armored and 1st Mechanized (with 100,000 staff and civilians) will be repatriated back to the U.S. The sharp decline of Russia's armed forces has removed any rationale for maintaining U.S. divisions stationed in Germany since 1945. This makes military sense and is long overdue. The heavy divisions will be replaced by a mobile 3,500-man brigade and some new air units.

America's smartest, most outspoken foreign policy thinker, Zbigniew Brezinski, bluntly describes the U.S.-Europe post-war relationship as a "hegemon and its vassals" with NATO as the principal instrument through which the U.S. controls Western Europe. The U.S. exercises similar control of Japan, "an American protectorate" in Brezinski's words, through the U.S.-Japanese Security Treaty.

Military power underpins both vital strategic relationships. Removal of U.S. forces from Germany, with the inevitable reduction of power, even raison d'etre, of NATO, means declining U.S. political influence over Europe. This, in turn, will allow a united Europe to develop what is a full-scale partner, not a vassal, of the United States - a most welcome geopolitical development. One wonders if the Bush administration's limited thinkers understand this vitally important point.

The planned withdrawl of 12,500 of the 37,500 U.S. troops in South Korea (3,500 will go to Iraq) is also logical, though the announcement's timing is poor. So, too, the reduction of 20,000 Marines in Okinawa, a major irritant to Japanese public opinion.

South Korea's powerful armed forces are well able to hold off North Korea's larger but obsolescent military. The U.S. 2nd Division's deployment in static defences along the Demilitarized Zone makes it - as this writer has seen first-hand - vulnerable and hostage to North Korea's massive artillery. Pulling the 2nd back south of Seoul makes good military sense, as does thinning U.S. troops in the south but not when the U.S. and its allies are locked in vitally important nuclear negotiations with hostile North Korea.

Meanwhile, the U.S. will open new bases in Bulgaria and Romania as part of America's new "imperial lifeline." They will link to new U.S. bases being built across Central Asia, Pakistan, Iraq, and the Gulf, designed to cement Washington's hold on the Muslim world and its natural resources.

As a result, the entire armed forces are being restructured for "expeditionary warfare" (the British used it call it "the imperial mission"). This process began a decade ago, but accelerated under the Bush administration, which has relentlessly militarized foreign policy.

Army heavy tankers and artillery are being replaced by light, Canadian-made wheeled armoured vehicles. Troops are being trained in counter-insurgency operations and urban warfare. A "lilypad" concept of austere, rapidly created mini-bases will allow U.S. forces to leapfrog around the globe.

The navy is developing "littoral warfare" ships for coastal operations that can project fire and troops deep inland. Fleets of prepositioned supply ships deployed around the globe will keep entire brigades in the field for months.

The U.S. Air Force has developed "barebase" operations allowing it to deploy "strike packages" of attack, bomber and recon aircraft across the globe on short notice that can deliver devastating firepower. New cargo transports are being built. Constellations of spy satellites, listening devices and swarms of drones give Washington eyes and ears everywhere.

These dramatic new deployments signal further expansion of military operations around the globe as America comes ever closer to resembling its forbear, the British Empire. Most Americans, however, remain unaware of their government's new imperial plans to rule oil and the Muslim world, and of the unexpected conflicts that lie in wait for America's increasingly far-flung expeditionary forces.

Cell Towers Camouflaged

Stealth Cell towers and the 2004 U.S. Presidential Elections
source: by Bruce Conway
http://www.lightwatcher.com/culturejam/stealth_towers.html

Late last fall, I watched bemused as several plainclothes geeks installed a cell tower behind our N.W. Island's Masonic Hall. It went up quickly, and without any fanfare.

The twist was that the cell tower was disguised as an ordinary flagpole. This was patriotic, and very suspicious. The camouflaged stealth tower was erected without any protests, warnings or announcements to local businesses or residents.

Being a curious person I investigated, and discovered to my great surprise that "stealth towers" are being hastily erected throughout the country, by the thousands. Camouflaged microwave and cell phone towers are being disguised as cacti, palm trees, church crosses, rock formations, water towers, and pine trees. This is happening without any of the dissent or protest usually surrounding cell tower erections.

Companies like Stealth Concealment Solutions of Charleston, S.C., are doing a brisk business. They custom-disguise cell towers to blend into their surroundings. It is estimated that up to 30% of the new cell tower erections now going up are being stealthily concealed.

When one considers the rapid advancements in electromagnetic and psychotronic mind control technology, this trend in utility concealment is rather sinister. If researchers could successfully project human speech into the minds of the deaf, as Dr. Joseph C. Sharp of the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research did in 1974, think of their present capabilities.

Consider this quote by a pioneer in electromagnetic mind control: "Man does not have the right to develop his own mind. This kind of liberal orientation has great appeal. We must electrically control the brain. Some day armies and generals will be controlled by electric stimulation of the brain." - Dr. Jose Delgado -1974 Congressional Record, No. 262E, Vol. 118.

Here is another eye-opening quotation: "Contemporary neuroscience suggests the existence of fundamental algorithms by which all sensory transduction is translated into the intrinsic, brain-specific code. Direct stimulation of these codes within the human temporal or limbic cortices by applied electromagnetic patterns may require energy levels which are within the range of both geomagnetic activity and contemporary communication networks. A process which is coupled to the narrow band of brain temperature could allow all normal human brains to be affected by a sub-harmonic whose frequency range at about 10 Hz would only vary by 0.1 Hz." - On the Possibility of Directly accessing every human brain by electromagnetic induction of fundamental algorithms - by M.A. Persinger, Laurentian University / Perceptual and Motor Skills, June 1995, 80, 791-799.

And now, one final quotation to put the issue of stealth cell towers into a proper political perspective: "As an expert and juridical personality I declare: In Kiev was launched a mass production of Psychotronical Biogenerators and their tests. I cannot assert that during the coup d'etat were used exactly the Kiev generators. All the same the fact that they were used is evident to me. What are the Psychotronical generators? They are electrical equipment which produces the effect of guided control in human organisms. It affects especially the left and right hemisphere of the cortex. This is also the technology of the U.S. project Zombie 5 . . . I draw on my personal experience since I am myself the designer of such a generator." Quote by Victor Sedleckij, the Vice President of the League of Independent Soviet Scientists / Komsomolskaya Pravda / August 27, 1991

With the U.S. Presidential election coming up in a few short months, it is likely that the stealth cell tower network being rapidly constructed is destined to play an important role in remotely influencing the perceptions, thoughts and decisions of American voters.

Is there any crime that the Neoconmen won't perpretrate to retain their strangle-hold on power?

FORESTS ALERT: World Bank Subsidies Threaten World's Second Largest Rainforest

ACTION ALERT UPDATE
World Bank Subsidies Threaten World's Second Largest Rainforest

By Forests.org
August 25, 2004

TAKE ACTION - just updated!!

World Bank, WWF and others are wrong on old-growth logging

http://forests.org/action/africa/

In March, 2004 the Rainforest Foundation revealed that the World Bank and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) seek to increase logging by sixty times in the world's second largest intact rainforest found mostly in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). According to World Bank documents, they intend to "create a favorable climate for industrial logging" by subsidizing the development of comprehensive new forestry laws in the Congo, as well as the 'zoning' of the country's entire forest area.

At $0.06 per hectare per year, the Bank-approved leasing of DRC's rainforests to loggers surely warrants scrutiny to determine whether this represents the true global value of those forests. Joseph Bobia, spokesperson for the Congolese development organization CENADEP, fears that as a result of industrial logging "much of the country [will be] turned into a vast logging concession."

Hundreds of environment, development, and human rights groups in the Congo, and thousands of international supporters including Forests.org's network, have called on the World Bank to stop these plans. What had been a surreptitious effort to access cheap timber in the absence of governmental authority has become a major international issue. The World Bank's President has gotten involved, and there are indications the project may be cancelled. The World Bank continues to subsidize first time industrial development of old-growth and other endangered forests in the DRC and around the world - seriously damaging the local and global environments.

Please demand the World Bank and FAO immediately halt plans for the expansion of industrial logging in the Democratic Republic of Congo and remaining ancient forests around the World.

Let them know the World Bank should be working with the Congolese government to help dismantle the country's corrupt and inefficient logging industry, rather than expanding it, and developing alternatives that will bring direct benefits to, and strengthens the rights of, the 35 million people living in and around the forest and depending on it for their survival.

TAKE ACTION - http://forests.org/action/africa/

P.S. The World Bank and WWF work as an alliance promoting "environmentally sensitive" first time logging of ancient old-growth forests worldwide. Please take the time to respond to the second alert (where you will be forwarded after sending the first), confronting WWF's complicity in final loss of the world's ancient forests. Demand to know where is the evidence old-growth forest can be sustainably managed?

Najaf. Where have we seen this before? American tanks surround the holy site of a religious sect. Troop commanders and government officials issue bombastic orders to an inferior, out-gunned, faith-fueled adversary to surrender or die. The guardians of the site are armed and determined to fight rather than surrender their charismatic leader. The pusillanimous press obediently label the surrounded ones as dangerous fanatics led by a fiery rebel. The Americans claim that the rebels have rigged the holy site to burn it to the ground. The soldiers demand that the rebels surrender, disarm and submit to “an arrest warrant.” Is this Najaf... or is it Waco?

Protect Our Remaining Wild Forests

Featured Petition: Protect Our Remaining Wild Forests

http://www.care2.com/go/z/16534

In 2001, the Bush administration promised to uphold the Roadless Area Conservation Rule to protect our last wild forests. But, guess what? Bush and his administration have just reneged on this promise.

Unless we act quickly, 58.5 million acres of U.S. nationalforests will be at risk from destructive road-building, logging and drilling.

Though the Administration and the Forest Service attemptedto portray the new rule change as a modification of the Roadless Rule, under this proposal not a single acre of roadless areas in the National Forests will be protected nationally and thus will not be safe from the timber, oil and gas industries.

Your voice is needed now - please sign this petition to submit your public comment to the Forest Service. Help send a clear and powerful message that we will not tolerate the administration giving our national forests away:

Plant Trees Online to Help Areas Destroyed by Wildfire

Featured Action: Plant Trees Online to Help Areas Destroyed by Wildfire

http://www.care2.com/go/z/16532

You have probably seen pictures of the devastating wildfires that the western United States has experienced in recent years. Did you know that more than 5.6 million acres of forest have burned already this year? You can help restore these damaged forests lands by planting trees - online - through American Forests' Wildfire ReLeaf program.

Why do we need to plant trees? Hundreds of thousands of acres scorched by wildland fires need trees to stabilize and regenerate fragile forest ecosystems. Some forest ecosystems have burned so hot that trees will not grow back on their own. Areas prone to erosion - especially along streams and rivers - need trees to help hold soil in place. Replanting native species before invasive species have a chance to take over ensures that those forest ecosystems return to their pre-fire state.

Trees also play crucial roles in filtering our water, cleaning our air, and slowing global climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide, a major greenhouse gas. When we help plant trees to regenerate our forests, we help rebuild the forest homes for our wildlife, and ensure healthy forests for generations to enjoy.

Learn how you can plant trees online today!

GWEN Towers, HAARP & Satellite GPS - EMF Control Grid

I enclose an extract from the article detailed below for your consideration.

Best wishes
Carole Smith

GWEN Towers, HAARP & Satellite GPS-EMF Control Grid
http://www.mindcontrolforums.com/gwen-haarp-satellite-gps-emf-control-grid.htm

"GWEN is a superb system, in combination with cyclotron resonance, for producing behavioural alterations in the civilian population. The average strength of the steady geomagnetic field varies from place to place across the United States. Therefore, if one wished to resonate a specific ion in living things in a specific locality, one would require a specific frequency for that location. The spacing of GWEN transmitters 200 miles apart across the United States would allow such specific frequencies to be 'tailored' to the geomagnetic-field strength in each GWEN area."

- Robert O. Becker, M.D., in "Crosscurrents: The Perils of Electropollution"

"Russian satellites, controlled by advanced computers, can send voices in one's own language interweaving into natural thoughts to the population of choice to form diffused artificial thought. The chemistry and electricity of the human brain can be manipulated by satellite and even suicide can be induced. Through ferocious anti-humanitarian means, the extremist groups are fabricated, the troubles and bloody disturbances are instigated by advanced tele-means via Russian satellites, in many countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America."

Dr Nassim Abd El-Aziz Neweigy, March 21, 1983, Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Agriculture, Moshtohor Tukh-Kalubia, Egypt, writing in The Sydney Morning Herald

"Specifically, this agreement establishes the overall policies, relationships, and responsibilities guiding interagency activities necessary to establish, operate, and manage the NDGPS as authorized by Section 346 of Public Law 105-66 of October 27, 1997 (Attachment A) including for the temporary and permanent transfer of mutually selected USAF Ground Wave Emergency Network (GWEN) sites and equipment to USDOT for use to establish the NDGPS radionavigation service as authorized under Public Law 105-66, Section 346 (Attachment (C))."

http://www.navcen.uscg.gov/ndgps/Appendix%20A.pdf

The agreement also establishes USACE, FRA, FHWA, USCG, and NOAA responsibilities for the funding, installation, operation, and eventual decommissioning of Nationwide DGPS sites.

In Presidential Decision Directive (PDD) NSTC-6 of March 28, 1996, the President designated the Department of Transportation as the "lead agency for all Federal civil GPS matters." In addition, the President directed the USDOT to "develop and implement U.S. Government augmentations to the basic GPS for transportation applications."

In January 1997 the USDOT formed an interagency DGPS Executive Steering Group and a DGPS Policy and Implementation Team to investigate the development of a nationwide differential service to comply with Presidential direction. The findings of the Executive Steering Group determined that building upon existing infrastructure and resources - Coast Guard Maritime Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) sites and conversion of existing US Air Force Ground Wave Emergency Network (GWEN) sites - was the most practical method available to adequately fulfill the PDD and meet the user agency operational and technical needs.

Section 346 of Public Law 105-66, dated October 27, 1997, (Attachment A) grants authority to the USDOT to "take receipt of such equipment and sites of the Ground Wave Emergency Network ... as ... necessary for the establishment of a nationwide system to be known as the 'Nationwide Differential Global Positioning System .'"

In November, 1998, the NDGPS MOA was signed, identifying the general responsibilities of the seven Federal Agencies involved in the planning and proposed implementation of the NDGPS service.

300 Towers, 300-500 Feet High, Spread Across the United States

The Ground-Wave Emergency Network (GWEN) System

Extract from Matrix III Volume One:

The Ground-Wave Emergency Network (GWEN) is a communications system that the military is in the process of constructing as we speak. It operates in the very-low-frequency (VLF) range, with transmissions between 150 and 175 kHz. This range was selected because its signals travel by means of waves that have a tendency to hug the ground rather than by radiating into the atmosphere. This signal drops off sharply with distance - a single GWEN stations transmits in a 360 circle to a distance of 250 to 300 miles. The entire GWEN system consists of approximately 300 such stations spread across the United States, each with a tower 300-500 feet high. The stations are from 200 to 250 miles apart, so that a signal can go from coast to coast from one station to another. When the system is completed around 1993, the entire civilian population of the United States will be exposed to the GWEN Transmissions.

APPLICATION OF MILITARY FREQUENCY WEAPONRY :

According to a 1982 Air Force review of biotechnology, ELF has a number of potential military uses, including "dealing with terrorist groups, crowd control, controlling breaches of security at military installations, and antipersonnel techniques in tactical warfare."

"Electromagnetic systems would be used to produce mild to severe physiological disruption or perceptual distortion or disorientation. They are silent, and counter measures to them may be difficult to develop."

http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Shadowlands/6583/project032.html

Each site would consist of a 299 foot tower (presumably to get around automatic imposition of the National Environmental Policy Act requirement for an environmental impact statement for any federally-funded 300 foot tower), a concrete building, and a series of fences on a 700 foot square site. Underground, a "ground screen" of copper wire would radiate to 330 feet at regular intervals. Physically unimpressive, the towers are presented to the public by the Air Force as radio towers for "emergency communications."

Each tower will cost $1.4 million, the entire system a billion dollars. Other systems such as AFSATCOM, Milstar, Green Pine, and Giant Talk are designed to provide nuclear war communications at other electromagnetic frequencies and with the same or other weapons systems. Because of GWEN's relatively simplistic technology, the Air Force presumes that GWEN will be replaced in 15 years by a satellite system.

Screening mothers and babes instead of potential terrorists

I was absolutely dumbfounded to read about something called The Children's Mental Health Act of 2003. It requires a mental health screening of children ages zero through 18 and pregnant women. Pregnant women would be screened prior to delivery for depression and periodically for the first six months after giving birth. It's appalling that a country where people have the audacity to scream 'violation of rights' to the profiling of Muslims, would allow an act of this nature, based on the premise that early intervention is the key to academic success and crime prevention, be passed into legislation!...

Bush weds religion, politics to form world view

by David Domke

Seattle Post-Intelligencer

08/22/04

American presidents beginning with George Washington have included religious language in their public addresses. Claims of the United States as a divinely chosen nation and requests for God to bless U.S. decisions and actions have been commonplace. Scholars have labeled such discourse 'civil religion,' in which political leaders emphasize religious symbols and transcendent principles to engender a sense of unity and shared national identity. George W. Bush is doing something altogether different. Since the attacks of Sept. 11, the president and his administration have converged a religious fundamentalist worldview with a political agenda -- a distinctly partisan one, wrapped in the mantle of national interest but crafted by and for only those who share their outlook...

Why keep returning to the question of press complicity in the Iraq war? After all, nothing we now say or do or write can halt the invasion, breathe life into the dead or re-attach thousands of missing limbs. It's a good question, but as one who has written hundreds of thousands of words on the use of atomic weapons in 1945 without saving a life or a soul, it's not likely to stop me. Putting aside any political or moral questions, a reason to keep returning to the issue is this: It provides a Journalism 101 textbook example of what happens when reporters and editors attach too much credibility to statements by officials with an agenda or axe to grind...

by Bev Harris

In These Times

08/24/04

In the Alabama 2002 general election, machines made by Election Systems and Software (ES&S) flipped the governor's race. Six thousand three hundred Baldwin County electronic votes mysteriously disappeared after the polls had closed and everyone had gone home.

Democrat Don Siegelman's victory was handed to Republican Bob Riley, and the recount Siegelman requested was denied. Three months after the election, the vendor shrugged. 'Something happened. I don't have enough intelligence to say exactly what,' said Mark Kelley of ES&S. When I began researching this story in October 2002, the media was reporting that electronic voting machines are fun and speedy, but I looked in vain for articles reporting that they are accurate. I discovered four magic words, 'voting machines and glitch,' which, when entered into a search engine, yielded a shocking result: A staggering pile of miscounts was accumulating...

Liberty For All

08/25/04

The atrocities occurring against freedom and the American people could easily fill volumes, from cops killing innocent people to our military people wiping out thousands of innocent men, women, and children. Justice is a joke -- or would be if it were not for the fact that the United States now has 25 percent of the world's prisoners. And, you know what -- most -- at least 70 percent -- are not criminals, as they have been convicted by non-Article III courts established by State governments enforcing victimless 'crimes' based on State rules, not law...

EPA report: One in three lakes contaminated

Dodge City Daily Globe

One of every three lakes in the United States, and nearly one-quarter of the nation's rivers contain enough pollution that people should limit or avoid eating fish caught there. Every state but Alaska and Wyoming issued fish advisories covering some and occasionally all of their lakes or rivers in 2003, according to a national databased maintained by the Environmental Protection Agency and updated every year...

Prison abuse report cites top commanders

Seattle Times

08/24/04

The blame for abuses at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison lies mainly with the American soldiers who ran the notorious jail, but senior commanders and top-level Pentagon officials including Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld can be faulted for failed leadership and oversight, an independent commission said Tuesday. 'There was chaos at Abu Ghraib,' said James R. Schlesinger, who headed the four-person commission appointed by Rumsfeld...

US Naval Excercises sceduled off North Korea

US Naval Excercises sceduled off North Korea end of October

The writer below draws our attention to a very ominous prospect. Please ask your governments to formally protest these planned US naval exercises.

Buried in an article in today's International Herald Tribune, without any particular emphasis, was a significant item of information: -- The United States has scheduled naval exercises off the coast of North Korea at the end of October.

I can imagine only one explanation for a decision to schedule such naval exercises (by definition, optional) at precisely that time. Bush-Cheney-Rove wants to have the option, if Bush's election does not appear assured in the week prior to election day, to either (1) seek to provoke a genuine North Korean attack on an American ship -- and retaliate or (2) in good Gulf of Tonkin style, claim a non-existent North Korean attack -- and retaliate or (3) launch a frankly "preventive" or "pre-emptive" attack against North Korea.

Where such courses of action would lead the region and the world cannot be determined in advance but, presumably, would be of limited concern to Bush-Cheney-Rove. Any of such alternative approaches to war would almost certainly assure the election of the Commander-in Chief on November 2.

Experten warnen vor großem Lauschangriff

Hallo,
