UPDATE AND WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP

We are fighting for the survival of the dolphins in a dolphinarium in the Dominican Republic called “Manati Park Bavaro”, a facility which is under international attack for it’s miserable dolphin treatment since it’s opening. Even worse - in August 2002 Manati Park used an illegal permit to capture another eight dolphins in national waters on the east coast of the D.R.. Besides the violation of Law 64-00 this capture was done in the specifically protected area of a national park, the Parque Nacional del Este. The illegal capture therefore violates also the regulations of the national park and conservation conventions to which the DR is signatory. A lawsuit was filed against Manati Park . Up to now no official information was provided as to where these eight dolphins are being held and if they are still alive at all.

In October 2004 - despite the fact that the lawsuit is still pending - Manati Park opened a second caged facility on the Bavaro beach called “Dolphin Island Park” which is just a swimming platform and a dolphin cage in 500 meters distance from the beach, where the dolphins are extremely exposed to low tides in shallow water and to the hot sun. The risk is high that this fragile structure is blown away completely by the next hurricane. It is most obvious that the four dolphins that are “used” in this park are the ones that have been illegally captured in the Parque Nacional des Este in 2002 and employees announced that it is planned to add more dolphins to this facility.

With the election of a new President in the Dominican Republic and a new Government in place it seems that the Dominican Republic is now starting to pay more attention to environment and the necessity to protect it. For example last week the Ministry of Environment honoured the Hotel Association of La Romana and Bayahibe during an event held at the Presidency office for its commitment to conservation and sustainability in the Bayahibe area.

If there ever is a chance to convince the Ministry of Environment to finally take the necessary steps to stop the dolphin cruelty at Manati Park this time is NOW.

Therefore we need all of you to help !

Since years we are supporting the efforts of Dominican Republic local environment protection societies and the international movement of protest against the disgusting swim-with-dolphins program that is offered at Manati Park Bavaro and since October 2004 now as well at a so called “Dolphin Island Park” in Bavaro - both facilities owned by Sr. Jose Miguel Moreno.

As you are aware Manati Park is under international pressure for the unacceptable holding conditions (small and barren cement captive pools, quality of water, lake of refuge or sanctuary facilities, but of particular concern is the handling of the Swim with Dolphins Program by which the dolphins have intensive hours of interactions with visitors and due to its cruel outline have shown already aggressive behaviour against some tourists) and the high death rate of dolphins in their facility already since its establishment. Many tourists have cancelled the Dominican Republic from their holiday destination list as they are not prepared to visit countries where animal mistreatment of that kind is accepted.

In spite of the international protest and due to non reaction of the responsible Authorities Manati Park was able to capture another eight dolphins in national waters in August 2002 in the National Parque Este – a special protected area of a national park - and although legal actions has been initiated (violation of the SPAW Protocol of the Cartagena Convention and the domestic environmental statute # 64-00) the whereabouts of these dolphins could not be investigated till now.

We herewith would like to express our sincere concerns about that situation and express our support for the need of all measures in order to protect these dolphins and to comply with the requirements of the various international conventions which the Dominican Republic has subscribed. The only reason why dolphins are allowed to be legally held in capitivity as stated in SPAW are “education or scientific research”, non of which are given at Manati Park and Dolphin Island park, where the dolphins are just misused for entertainment and money making, and beside that there is not one moral reason to hold any animal in captivity.

In your new responsibility in the Secretaria de Medio Ambiente y Recursos we urgently ask you to inform us about the results of your inspection of the facility “Manati Park Bavaro”, provide update if inspection of “Dolphin Island Park” is as well planned and let us know about the measures that will/have been taken to end the dolphin cruelty in these amusement parks.

Gesundheitspolitscher Skandal

Über 8 Jahre sendeten illegal in Hanau-Steinheim Mobilfunkantennen, welche im Mai auf richterlichen Beschlusses abgebaut wurden. Am 30.05.2005 wurden die restlichen Antennen des Betreibers O2 demontiert. Die dortigen Bewohner wurden mit gepulsten Mikrowellen bestrahlt. Einige haben aufgrund von schwerwiegenden Erkrankungen einen Wohnsitzwechsel vollzogen. Ungeachtet von wachsenden Sorgen und Ängsten der Bevölkerung installieren Betreiber auch weiterhin vielerorts heimlich Sendeanlagen, auch illegal. Die gesundheitliche Gefährdung durch Mobilfunk wird in vielen Studien mit konsistenten Hinweisen belegt, weshalb auch immer mehr Ärzte und deren Initiativen mit Appellen zum vorsichtigen Umgang mit Mobilfunk und warnend zur Prävention auffordern. Die politische und gesellschaftliche Verantwortung wird von den kommerziellen Interessen der Betreiber unterwandert. Ein erheblicher Teil der Bevölkerung wird gezwungen, mit gesundheitlicher Gefährdung und Wertminderungen von Wohnungen und Häusern die Zeche für die Gewinne der Nutznießer zu bezahlen – ein einzigartiger gesundheits- und politischer Skandal. Jedenfalls kann man den Bewohnern des Wohnhauses in Steinheim an der Johannes-Machern-Straße zur jetzigen Verbesserung ihrer Lebensqualität nur gratulieren.

ich hatte Ihnen heute u.a. Kenntnis von der Veröffentlichung meines Leserbriefes "Gesundheitspolitischer Skandal" im Hanauer Anzeiger gegeben.

U.a. heißt es dort im ersten Absatz:

In meinem Manuskript an den HA lautet dieser Satz:

" Einige haben aufgrund von schwerwiegenden Erkrankungen einen Wohnsitzwechsel vollzogen und fühlen sich an ihren neuen Wohnorten kerngesund."

Die Kürzung ist eine Manipulation und verfälscht den Kern der Botschaft, dass nämlich eine Kausalität zwischen Erkrankungen und Aufenthaltsort an den Sendeanlagen abgeleitet werden kann.

Ansonsten wurde der gesamte Wortlaut übernommen.

Der Mainstreamstil des HA ist klar erkennbar:

Es soll und darf nicht berichtet werden, was aus wirtschaftspolitischen Aspekten die Betreiber belasten könnte.

Ein Fall wie viele andere, welche die Instrumentalisierung der Presse belegen.

Dagegen wurde der Leserbrief ohne Manipulation im vollen Wortlaut von der Hanau Post/ Offenbach Post am 8-06-05 veröffentlicht.

Eine entsprechende Intervention wird meinerseits erfolgen.

Status Report of the House Judiciary Committee Democratic Staff

Executive Summary

Representative John Conyers, Jr., the Ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, asked the Democratic staff to conduct an investigation into irregularities reported in the Ohio presidential election and to prepare a Status Report concerning the same prior to the Joint Meeting of Congress scheduled for January 6, 2005, to receive and consider the votes of the electoral college for president. The following Report includes a brief chronology of the events; summarizes the relevant background law; provides detailed findings (including factual findings and legal analysis); and describes various recommendations for acting on this Report going forward.

We have found numerous, serious election irregularities in the Ohio presidential election, which resulted in a significant disenfranchisement of voters. Cumulatively, these irregularities, which affected hundreds of thousand of votes and voters in Ohio, raise grave doubts regarding whether it can be said the Ohio electors selected on December 13, 2004, were chosen in a manner that conforms to Ohio law, let alone federal requirements and constitutional standards.

This report, therefore, makes three recommendations:

(1) consistent with the requirements of the United States Constitution concerning the counting of electoral votes by Congress and Federal law implementing these requirements, there are ample grounds for challenging the electors from the State of Ohio;

(2) Congress should engage in further hearings into the widespread irregularities reported in Ohio; we believe the problems are serious enough to warrant the appointment of a joint select Committee of the House and Senate to investigate and report back to the Members; and

(3) Congress needs to enact election reform to restore our people's trust in our democracy. These changes should include putting in place more specific federal protections for federal elections, particularly in the areas of audit capability for electronic voting machines and casting and counting of provisional ballots, as well as other needed changes to federal and state election laws.

With regards to our factual finding, in brief, we find that there were massive and unprecedented voter irregularities and anomalies in Ohio. In many cases these irregularities were caused by intentional misconduct and illegal behavior, much of it involving Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell, the co-chair of the Bush-Cheney campaign in Ohio.

First, in the run up to election day, the following actions by Mr. Blackwell, the Republican Party and election officials disenfranchised hundreds of thousands of Ohio citizens, predominantly minority and Democratic voters:

The misallocation of voting machines led to unprecedented long lines that disenfranchised scores, if not hundreds of thousands, of predominantly minority and Democratic voters. This was illustrated by the fact that the Washington Post reported that in Franklin County, "27 of the 30 wards with the most machines per registered voter showed majorities for Bush. At the other end of the spectrum, six of the seven wards with the fewest machines delivered large margins for Kerry." (See Powell and Slevin, supra). Among other things, the conscious failure to provide sufficient voting machinery violates the Ohio Revised Code which requires the Boards of Elections to "provide adequate facilities at each polling place for conducting the election."

Mr. Blackwell's decision to restrict provisional ballots resulted in the disenfranchisement of tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of voters, again predominantly minority and Democratic voters. Mr. Blackwell's decision departed from past Ohio law on provisional ballots, and there is no evidence that a broader construction would have led to any significant disruption at the polling places, and did not do so in other states.

Mr. Blackwell's widely reviled decision to reject voter registration applications based on paper weight may have resulted in thousands of new voters not being registered in time for the 2004 election. The Ohio Republican Party's decision to engage in preelection "caging" tactics, selectively targeting 35,000 predominantly minority voters for intimidation had a negative impact on voter turnout. The Third Circuit found these activities to be illegal and in direct violation of consent decrees barring the Republican Party from targeting minority voters for poll challenges.

The Ohio Republican Party's decision to utilize thousands of partisan challengers concentrated in minority and Democratic areas likely disenfranchised tens of thousands of legal voters, who were not only intimidated, but became discouraged by the long lines. Shockingly, these disruptions were publicly predicted and acknowledged by Republican officials: Mark Weaver, a lawyer for the Ohio Republican Party, admitted the challenges "can't help but create chaos, longer lines and frustration."

Mr. Blackwell's decision to prevent voters who requested absentee ballots but did not receive them on a timely basis from being able to receive provisional ballots 6 likely disenfranchised thousands, if not tens of thousands, of voters, particularly seniors. A federal court found Mr. Blackwell's order to be illegal and in violation of HAVA.

Second, on election day, there were numerous unexplained anomalies and irregularities involving hundreds of thousands of votes that have yet to be accounted for:

There were widespread instances of intimidation and misinformation in violation of the Voting Rights Act, the Civil Rights Act of 1968, Equal Protection, Due Process and the Ohio right to vote. Mr. Blackwell's apparent failure to institute a single investigation into these many serious allegations represents a violation of his statutory duty under Ohio law to investigate election irregularities.

We learned of improper purging and other registration errors by election officials that likely disenfranchised tens of thousands of voters statewide. The Greater Cleveland Voter Registration Coalition projects that in Cuyahoga County alone over 10,000 Ohio citizens lost their right to vote as a result of official registration errors.

There were 93,000 spoiled ballots where no vote was cast for president, the vast majority of which have yet to be inspected. The problem was particularly acute in two precincts in Montgomery County which had an undervote rate of over 25% each - accounting for nearly 6,000 voters who stood in line to vote, but purportedly declined to vote for president.

There were numerous, significant unexplained irregularities in other counties throughout the state: (i) in Mahoning county at least 25 electronic machines transferred an unknown number of Kerry votes to the Bush column; (ii) Warren County locked out public observers from vote counting citing an FBI warning about a potential terrorist threat, yet the FBI states that it issued no such warning; (iii) the voting records of Perry county show significantly more votes than voters in some precincts, significantly less ballots than voters in other precincts, and voters casting more than one ballot; (iv) in Butler county a down ballot and underfunded Democratic State Supreme Court candidate implausibly received more votes than the best funded Democratic Presidential candidate in history; (v) in Cuyahoga county, poll worker error may have led to little known thirdparty candidates receiving twenty times more votes than such candidates had ever received in otherwise reliably Democratic leaning areas; (vi) in Miami county, voter turnout was an improbable and highly suspect 98.55 percent, and after 100 percent of the precincts were reported, an additional 19,000 extra votes were recorded for President Bush.

Third, in the post-election period we learned of numerous irregularities in tallying provisional ballots and conducting and completing the recount that disenfanchised thousands of voters and call the entire recount procedure into question (as of this date the recount is still not complete):

Mr. Blackwell's failure to articulate clear and consistent standards for the counting of provisional ballots resulted in the loss of thousands of predominantly minority votes. In Cuyahoga County alone, the lack of guidance and the ultimate narrow and arbitrary review standards significantly contributed to the fact that 8,099 out of 24,472 provisional ballots were ruled invalid, the highest proportion in the state.

Mr. Blackwell's failure to issue specific standards for the recount contributed to a lack of uniformity in violation of both the Due Process Clause and the Equal Protection Clauses. We found innumerable irregularities in the recount in violation of Ohio law, including (i) counties which did not randomly select the precinct samples; (ii) counties which did not conduct a full hand court after the 3% hand and machine counts did not match; (iii) counties which allowed for irregular marking of ballots and failed to secure and store ballots and machinery; and (iv) counties which prevented witnesses for candidates from observing the various aspects of the recount.

The voting computer company Triad has essentially admitted that it engaged in a course of behavior during the recount in numerous counties to provide "cheat sheets" to those counting the ballots. The cheat sheets informed election officials how many votes they should find for each candidate, and how many over and under votes they should calculate to match the machine count. In that way, they could avoid doing a full county-wide hand recount mandated by state law...

Stellan Gustafsson avslutar sin utomordentligt intressanta insändare med frågan "Är det en tillfällighet att utbyggnaden av mobilnätet tidsmässigt sammanfaller med ökande ohälsa?". Tiden som avses är år 1997 då det skedde en kraftig uppbyggnad av GSM-nätet här i Sverige. Mitt svar är: "Nej, det behöver inte vara en tillfällighet". Min medarbetare Örjan Hallberg och jag har nämligen år 2004 publicerat ett vetenskapligt arbete med titeln "1997 - A curious year in Sweden" i tidskriften European Journal of Cancer Prevention (volym 13, sidorna 535-538).

Bakgrunden till vår studie var den hastiga kostnadsökningen i Sverige sedan 1997 för primär hälso- och sjukvård samt sjukskrivning/sjukpension. Vi beslöt därför att titta på de tidsmässiga och geografiska sambanden för en rad hälsoparametrar.

Vi fann då en mycket god korrelation mellan sjukdomsutveckling, sjukskrivning samt andra liknande parametrar och uppbyggnanden av det nya GSM 1800 mobiltelefonsystemet. Det intressanta var att sjukdomsutvecklingen i Sverige länsvis hastigt ökade under perioden oktober 1997 till januari 1998. Långtidssjukskrivning, belastningsskador, depression, självmordsförsök, frekvensen av bilolyckor (både för privatbilister samt yrkesförare), sjukskrivningsprocenten (speciellt i större företag), återhämtningstiden efter kirurgiska ingrepp, dödsfall på grund av yttre orsaker, arbetsplatsolyckor samt dödligheten i Alzheimers åldersdemens ökade alla. Vi kunde se att denna försämring sammanföll i tiden med påslaget av det nya mobiltelefonsystemet samt att det länsvis korrelerade med den genomsnittliga styrkan av mobilstrålningen. I län med stora avstånd till basstationerna, alltså med höga uteffekter på telefonerna, där var hälsan som sämst.

Precis som Stellan Gustafsson säger i sin insändare så sover svenskarna allt sämre. Ohälsan ökar och svenskarna är tröttare, betydligt tröttare än för 20 år sedan och sämst är utvecklingen för unga. Vi forskare har förvånats över att även grupper utanför arbetslivet visar samma försämringar som de som arbetar. Forskarlaget Söderström, Ekstedt, Åkerstedt, Nilsson och Axelsson visade förra året att personer i riskzonen för utbrändhet inte återhämtade sig över helgledigheten. Stellan Gustafsson frågar sig då "Är det bristande återhämtning som leder till utbrändhet så blir givetvis frågan varför vi inte återhämtar oss." Svaret ligger kanske i alla de många studier som visat att mobilstrålning förändrar det regionala blodflödet i hjärnan, hjärnans EEG samt påverkar längd och kvalitét av drömsömnen, den del av sömnen där mycket av den normala återhämtningen skall ske.

I dagsläget vet vi inte om strålningen försämrat vårt immunförsvar, om det är tröttheten i sig som orsakar problemen eller vad som står på. Däremot är det solklart att något allvarligt har hänt och håller på att hända. Detta kan vi inte längre blunda för och jag och mina medarbetare har därför många gånger uppmanat ansvariga myndigheter och politiker att agera. Sant oberoende forskningsprojekt måste genast igångsättas för att säkerställa folkhälsan! Dessa projekt och forskargrupper måste vara helt fria från alla former av kommersiella intressen, folkhälsan kan inte ges en prislapp!

Detta är varje lands valda församlingars absoluta ansvar!

Svenska folket bestrålas alltmer. Jag oroar mig för att det kan vara orsaken till den hastigt ökande tröttheten i vårt samhälle. Allra mest oroar jag mig dock för att ansvariga - just nu - sover en ansvarslös Törnrosasömn!

Grundsätzliche Dinge sind sicherlich gleich geblieben. Die HF- Strahlungssituation hat sich allerdings innerhalb der letzten 10 Jahre erheblich (für uns negativ) verändert. Die Herstellerfirmen sehen den Markt für Mobiltelefone mittlerweile als gesättigt an.

Es gibt mehr Elektrosmog- und Umweltmessgeräte sowie Analysemöglichkeiten auf dem Markt und mehr Möglichkeiten und Hilfsmittel zur Reduzierung von Elektrosmog und anderer Belastungen, einschließlich solcher, die im feinstofflichen Bereich (Skalarwellen, Erdstrahlung) wirken, allerdings oft noch umstritten sind.

Die offiziellen Grenzwerte, z. B. für die verschiedenen Typen des Elektrosmogs wurden immer noch nicht gesenkt, obwohl es inzwischen eindeutige Studien- Ergebnisse gibt (siehe Reflex- Studie) und obwohl eine grüne Partei inzwischen 7 Jahre in der Regierungsverantwortung ist, der man solche Veränderungen am ehesten zugetraut hätte.

Die jetzige Regierung war auch gar nicht mehr in der Lage, auf die alarmierenden Studien- Ergebnisse zu reagieren, da sie von den UMTS- Betreibern mit Milliarden-Lizenzgebühren "gekauft" wurde.

Im Falle von Gesetzesänderungen und daraus folgenden Rückforderungen dieser Firmen könnten die Milliarden gar nicht mehr zurückgezahlt werden, da sie bereits anderweitig verbuttert wurden.

Ich frage mich, ob eine Nachfolge- Regierung mit anderer Zusammensetzung nicht auch in Regress genommen werden könnte - aber die würde voraussichtlich auch die Grenzwerte nicht ändern, obwohl doch alle die Hand heben werden, dass sie zum Wohle des Volkes wirken wollen...

Sundern. Nach einer halben Stunde musste der Kellner die Fenster öffnen, solch dicke Luft herrschte in dem vollbesetzten Raum. Die frische Luft konnte die Gemüter nicht abkühlen. Die Angst vor Gesundheitsgefährdungen durch den Bau eines UMTS-Funkmastes im Gewerbegebiet Dümpel hatte die Bewohnerinnen und Bewohner der Hüstener Straße, des Brandhagens und des Sprees auf die Barrikaden gebracht.

Nach dem Beginn ihrer Protestbewegung, initiiert durch Renate Ern mit Unterschriftenlisten, auf denen sich bis zu dem Diskussionsabend 350 Männer, Frauen, Kinder und Jugendliche eingeschrieben haben, soll jetzt der Gang in den politischen Raum angetreten werden.

Die Versammlung beschloss, einen Bürgerantrag an die Stadt zu stellen, um den Bau des Mastes im Dümpel zu verhindern. Eine kleinere Gruppe aus der Runde sammelt Argumente über die Gefährdung durch die elektromagnetischen Strahlen und formuliert den Antrag.

Die Partei Bündnis 90/Die Grünen hatte zu der Versammlung eingeladen und mehr als 50 aufgebrachte Menschen waren in Doro´s Gasthaus gekommen.

Ratsmitglied Klaus Korn und Renate Ern berichteten über die gesundheitlichen Gefahren, die nach ihren Recherchen durch die Strahlung des Funkmastes entstehen. Auch renommierte Mediziner schließen Risiken nicht aus, betonte Korn. Renate Ern erzählte von einem Gespräch mit einem Kardiologen, der niemals in der Nähe eines Funkmastes eine Wohnung nehmen würde. "Wir sind zurzeit das Versuchskaninchen, und das geht nicht", wetterte sie.

Fast aggressiv wurde die Stimmung als besprochen wurde, wie Politik und Verwaltung mit dem Thema umgegangen sind.

Wie berichtet, hatte die Verwaltung den Umwelt- und Planungsausschuss in einer Sitzung im April informiert, dass Vodafone im Gebiet Dümpel einen Mast für das UMTS-Netz errichten wolle. Eine Diskussion dazu fand nicht statt, ist nach der Geschäftsordnung auch nicht vorgesehen.

Die Politik sei von der Verwaltung "überrollt" worden, lauteten die Vorwürfe der aufgebrachten Bürgerinnen und Bürger. Einige unterstellten der Verwaltung, dass auf diese Art und Weise eine Diskussion über den Bau des Funkmastes verhindert werden solle. Eine Anwohnerin, die "ziemlich sauer auf die Stadt" ist, hatte sich aus dem Internet die Information besorgt, dass eine Kommune nur acht Wochen Zeit habe, sich gegen so ein Projekt auszusprechen und befürchtete, dass diese Zeit verstrichen ist.

Die Unsicherheit der Anwesenden wurde durch die Frage einer Mutter deutlich: Wie weit reichen die schädlichen Strahlen, werden die Kindergärten am Brandhagen und St. Johannes, auch die Grundschule erreicht?

Eine Frage, auf der in der Versammlung niemand eine Antwort wusste. Lutz Siebeck versicherte, dass die Initiative mit seiner Partei weitere Informationen sammeln werde, Fachleute befragen und sie eventuell in eine nächste Versammlung einladen wolle.

Ein Fachmann saß mitten unter den Diskutanten: der Bündnisgrüne Klaus Bergfeld, bei T-Mobile für die Strahlenmessungen zuständig. Er erklärte die Strahlenschutz-Entfernungen, fest gelegt von der Regulierungsbehörde für das Post- und Fernmeldewesen: Bis ein Meter von der Antenne ist ein Aufenthalt nicht gestattet, zwischen einem und sechs Metern sind gesundheitliche Beeinträchtigungen möglich, darüber hinaus ist ein Aufenthalt ungefährlich.

Omega ein Grüner bei T-Mobile für die Strahlenmessungen zuständig, ein Skandal! Wen wundert bei solchen Konstellationen, dass die Berliner Grünen in der Frage der Senkung der Grenzwerte so unzugänglich sind. Der Mast käme damit direkt am Knick der Röhr kurz vor der alten Kläranlage zu stehen.

Ziel von Vodafone sei es, möglichst in drei Gebiete zu senden: Nach Norden, Süden und zu den Wohngebieten am Brandhagen. Wenn der Mast verlegt würde, könnten eventuell nur zwei Gebiete erreicht werden, somit müsste ein weiterer Mast gebaut werden. Ein freiwilliger Verzicht eines Wohngebietes auf UMTS, etwa am Brandhagen, ist nicht möglich, so Tanja Vogt, da ja Vodafone den Versorgungsauftrag der Regierung habe.

Das war noch nicht bekannt, als sich am Montagabend eine Bürgerversammlung, zu der die Grünen eingeladen hatten, tagte. Über 50 Bürger kamen in "Doros Gasthaus" und diskutierten mit den anwesenden Politikern über den geplanten Masten und die Gefahren, die von ihm ausgehen könnten.

Um sich zu wehren, so das Fazit der etwa einstündigen Diskussion, die Grünen-Ortsvorsitzender Lutz Siebeck leitete, soll ein Bürgerantrag formuliert werden, um die Sache als öffentlichen Tagesordnungspunkt in Rat und Ausschüssen diskutieren zu können. Gefordert wird von den Anliegern, die sich in einer Bürgerinitiative gegen den Masten formieren, auch ein Einblick in die Unterlagen der Stadt zu diesem Sendemasten.

Für einige Teilnehmer war es auch wichtig, zu erfahren, wer von dem Vorhaben profitiert: "In landwirtschaftlichen Zeitschriften wird oft mit der Pacht für solche Flächen geworben", so Guido Simon, Landwirt aus Bruchhausen.

"Wir haben in unserem Baugebiet schon sehr viel unter der lauten Straße und dem unschönen Anblick der Firmen zu leiden. Haben uns aber immer zurückgehalten, denn viele arbeiten dort. Doch das ist jetzt zuviel", so Michael Stechele, Anlieger und SPD-Stadtverbandsvorsitzender. "So geht es nicht, dieses privilegierte Handeln geht nicht", übte eine Anliegerin scharfe Kritik an der Regelung, dass der Bürgermeister über eine solche Anlage entscheiden kann.

Vier Mitglieder der Bürgerinitiative bereiten nun den Bürgerantrag vor, um ihn schnellstmöglichst einzureichen. Grüne und SPD unterstützen die Bürgerinitiative bei rechtlichen Fragen, etwa wie weit man Verwaltungsvorgänge einsehen darf.

Die Grünen, so Fraktionsvorsitzender Klaus Korn, wollen demnächst zu einer weiteren Bürgerversammlung laden, dann allerdings mit einem Experten in Sachen Strahlung bzw. Gefahren von UMTS-Anlagen. Am Montag abend erläuterte Klaus Bergfeld aus Linnepe, der bei der Vodafone-Konkurrenz T-Mobile arbeitet, die Grenzwerte, die im Gesetz festgehalten sind. Kein Aufenthalt wird dort bei einem Abstand unter 1 Meter zur Sendeanlage geraten, kein Aufenthalt über sechs Stunden bei 1 bis 10 Meter und ein unbedenklicher Aufenthalt ab 10 Metern. "Erarbeitet wurden diese Werte von der Weltgesundheitsorganisation und der deutschen Strahlenschutzkommission", so Bergfeld zu diesen Werten.

Sundern. Die Ablehnung des von der Firma Vodafone geplanten Sendemasten für die neuen UMTS-Telefone im Gewerbegebiet Dümpel wird größer, die Unterschriftenliste der Mast-Gegner immer länger. Aber Vodafone bewegt sich auch.

Wie gestern Tanja Vogt, Pressesprecherin der Vodafone-Niederlassung Dortmund, mitteilte, will man den Alternativ-Standort an der alten Kläranlage prüfen. Dieser liegt um etwa 150 Meter nördlich des vom Netzanbieter bevorzugten Platzes. Vorgesehen sei es, so Planungsamtsleiter Werner Henze auf Anfrage.

Mobilfunkmast als Krebserreger?

Anfang der 90er Jahre wurde in Neuhardenberg mitten in einem Wohngebiet ein Mobilfunkmast errichtet. Damals hatte sich niemand daran gestört, denn die Handytechnik steckte noch in den Kinderschuhen. Jetzt aber gibt es in dem Wohngebiet eine ungewöhnliche Häufung von Krebsfällen. An Zufall mag hier niemand mehr glauben.

Der Sendemast von T-Mobile steht fast unmittelbar an den Häusern im Neuhardenberger Birkenweg. Vielleicht hundertfünfzig Meter lang ist die kleine Straße. Dreizehn Häuser stehen hier. Mindestens acht Menschen, vermutlich sogar zwölf, sind in den letzten Jahren an Krebs erkrankt. An Zufall mag hier keiner glauben.

Dass sich die Sendemastbetreiber vor der Öffentlichkeit verstecken kann man ihnen jedenfalls nicht vorwerfen. Am Nachmittag stellten die Spezialisten von T-Mobile im Birkenweg und an einigen anderen Punkten ihre Messgeräte auf. Jeder durfte dabei zugucken. Vorläufiges Ergebnis: Die Strahlungswerte liegen weit unter den zulässigen Höchstgrenzen. Ein endgültiger Beweis, dass der Mast mit der Krankheitshäufung nichts zu tun hat, ist dies jedoch nicht.

Auch wenn die Messgeräte korrekt geeicht sind, auch wenn die Erhebung von Mitarbeitern der Amtsverwaltung überwacht wird: Den Anwohnern bleibt immer noch das Gefühl, dass von dem Turm Gefahren ausgehen. Immerhin liegen eine Schule und ein Kindergarten in unmittelbarer Nähe. Auch der Bürgermeister möchte keine vorschnellen Beruhigungspillen verteilen.

Damit verbunden wären ja auch Haftungen für den Fall, dass tatsächlich irgendwann Schäden nachgewiesen werden könnten, denn es geht hier auch um Langzeitwirkung und die sind infolge dieser kurzen Zeit, die die Handyentwicklung hat, bisher einfach noch nicht erforscht.“
