Is Capitalism Killing the Planet?
The Socialist case for the environment
Rivers are polluted, forests razed, pristine wilderness sacrificed all the name of profit. Living in Los Angeles, we see everyday the smog and pollution that results from the lack of a rational transportation system in America's second largest city. How long can the wrecking of our planet continue? The doomsday predictions concerning the environment can seem overwhelming, especially when we see how determinted companies are to maintain their profits even if it means destroying the very basis of human life on the planet.
Socialist are for a society that puts human need over corporate greed, that doesn't see "environmental concerns" as seperate from human concerns. Come to the next meeting of the ISO to discuss how we can build a movement that could stop the corporations from destorying the planet.
