The Peace Action Education Fund and Progressive Democrats of America have launched an on-line petition campaign as part of a congressional pressure strategy aimed at ending the war in Iraq. Petitions will be delivered to Members of Congress to show grassroots support for ending Bush's quagmire. The National Organization for Women, Women's Action for New Directions, the After Downing Street Coalition, Peace Majority Report and Democrats.com are also supporting this petition campaign.

You can sign the petition on-line at
http://www.demaction.org/dia/organizations/Peaceact/petition.jsp?petition_KEY=102, or via our homepage at http://www.peace-action.org/ and we ask you to forward the petition to individuals and organizations you think would be supportive.

We also seek organizational support for the campaign. Your organization can simply send out the link above, or you can set up the petition on your own website. We ask that you contact us so we can have overall counts of petition signers. You can send filled-out paper petitions to us at the address below. The campaign is less than two weeks old, but we are well on the way to 20,000 signers, aiming for at least 500,000 by mid-September.
