Why there?
Well, it could very well be a couple of reasons: First, Sri Lanka. If we owe China a lot of money, wouldn't it follow that we can begin reducing that debt by purchasing our textile goods from them instread of Sri Lanka? Just a thought!
Why there? Indonesia: We have been "courting" Indonesia for the past 4 years....setting up bases there also. Were they planning on converting their US oil dollars over to Euros? That would be the first thing to look in to. Do they have a significant natural oil or water resource? That would be the second thing to look in to.

All distant-destruction can be done from a control room, and to any point on earth. The destructive power of "men" has just increased by orders of magnitude. Living on a coastline myself, the one positive I can say for hurricanes is that at least there is advanced warning. Even with tornadoes there are advanced warnings. Stuff like this, not so much advanced warning. All of a sudden the surf is up like nobody's business. So, was this earthquake a natural event, or was there some people tampering involved? I mean, like, makes me wonder about all those secret underground nuclear test detonations. Set off a hydrogen bomb or two underground and somebody is likely responsible for destablizing tectonic plates somewhere. Kind of makes you wonder about the HAARP program designed for experimenting with the weather. It's not smart to try to fool Mother Nature....bigbro
It is the largest earthquake known to modern civilization with a reading of close to 9.2 in Richter scale. It started with a precursor near the coastline of Sumatra, a series of shocks happened one after the other and before all was done, 625 miles (1000 Kilometers) of Andaman thrust or fault line broke. The result was devastation never seen before in modern times. 45 feet tall Tsunamis (coastal tidal waves) originating from the epicenter of the earthquakes, crushed onto the shores of Sri Lanka, India, Maldives, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and other countries in the region.
According to reports we are receiving, this is not a simple earthquake, it is the mega quake that happens once every thousand years. No one knows how much after shock will devastate the area. Never ever in the known human history in modern times, an earthquake happened that broke 1000 miles of fault line.
More than 25,000 people are dead or missing. The death toll eventually can rise to 100,000. The damage to economy and crops can be staggering.
No one is getting any information from Andaman Nicobar Islands, which is affected the most. Indian Air Force is flying sorties to help the affected in the region.
In addition, there is no information from many of the ships in the region at the time.
The survey now says the quake centered off the west coast of northern Sumatra, has been upgraded to a 9.2 magnitude, making it the one of the largest earthquake since 1899 and may be the largest since 1600. It was the largest quake in the world since 1964, Reuters reports Julie Martinez, geophysicist for the U.S. Geological Survey's Earthquake Hazards Program in Golden, Colorado, as saying.
That year, an earthquake struck Alaska's Prince William Sound. Sunday's quake, first struck at 7:59 a.m (0059 GMT) off the coast of Aceh province on the northern Indonesian island of Sumatra and appeared to swing north into the Andaman islands in the Indian Ocean. It triggered a tsunami that killed hundreds in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia and India.
"About 1,000 kilometers of the Andaman thrust (or faultline) broke, which is a huge area," Martinez said. "This doesn't occur that often. To have a break along that long of a faultline, that is more unusual."
As the Earth moves and its plates hit each other, the Earth breaks in one area and pressure is built up in a different area, Martinez said. When that pressure builds up, another earthquake occurs, she said. The quakes that follow, or aftershocks, are minor readjustments along the fault after the main shock or quake occurs, Martinez explained.
"Usually, aftershocks are in more or less the same area," she said. "Because of the size of this quake, you will see more quakes in a larger area because the break or the faultline is larger."

The time was ripe for the occurance naturally, but precipitating the occurance might have indeed been orchestrated. I guess the best way to find out if it was a natural verses "stimulated/natural" event, would be to study the geological signs leading up to the event. In other words, IF there were small quakes, or swarms of quakes indicating the sudden slippage, as it seems to occur naturally, that might indicate a completely sudden and totally natural genesis.
However, if the lead-up time to the event showed no signs whatsoever, we could assume it was stimulated to release the energy and slip at that point. If we care about the truth, we'll do the necessary investigation to prove either case. Let's post what the various geologists and non-conventional observer/scientists say. A well-known geologist in California, Berkland, I think it is, predicted that a major quake would occur at this time due to the moon aligning with several planets.
There was another earthquake within a thousand or so miles just hours later, from the Sumatra one. And this volcanic activity also points to an earthwide kind of condition. I wouldn't be too hasty in attributing earth changes solely to human interference or creation. Honestly. Let's take a breath and gather info. on it, OK? Our earth itself is heating up, as are all the other planets and the sun. The volcanic activity of recent years should be an obvious clue, too, as well as the melting of the polar ice caps which isn't necessarily caused by the atmosphere. Take a look at the Gulf Stream's behavior as well. Is that caused by man? It's a direct reaction to the ice caps' melting.

Russian volcano erupts in Kamchatka
Petropavlosk, Russia, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Russian seismologists said the Shiveluch volcano in the eastern Kamchatka peninsula began erupting Tuesday, sending hot ash up to 6,500 feet.
Seismic stations near the volcano registered underground tremors from a depth of up to 16,000 feet with spasmodic volcanic vibration, the Novosti news agency reported.
Scientists said it was impossible to conduct video observation of Shiveluch because of bad weather.
The 10,700-foot mountain first became active last May 10, sending up an ash plume more than 30,000 feet and triggering lava-ridden fragmentation avalanches. At that time, government officials closed the area to everyone but scientists.
The report said the main concern Tuesday was the threat to aviation, as the dense ash clouds can paralyze aircraft engines.
