The courage to be an American

We are not free if we allow government to dictate to us our 'privileges.' You see, we Americans -- and all people for that matter -- do not have privileges; we have inherent and unalienable RIGHTS.
Yet, we allow people who are elected or appointed to offices meant to serve us instead serving them selves to our detriment. For example, where in the Constitution for the united States of America does it give Congress, the presidency, or the justices for the one supreme Court the authority to make rules regulating our actions?
