Through the 1990s, many Eastern Europeans considered the U.S. a model to follow, as an example of how successful nations can be when they embrace free-market economic policies and enshrine respect for individual liberties and civil rights. Now, thanks to irregularities in U.S. elections, America's moral leadership is eroding in the eyes of Eastern Europeans.

Parliamentarians who are accustomed to the U.S. observing their own elections and exerting political pressure to expand democracy were shocked by what they saw first-hand and heard about in detailed reports on November 2.An Albanian lawmaker said these incidents reminded her of anti-democratic tactics in Albania, and pointed out that when these abuses happen in the U.S., they encourage anti-democratic forces everywhere. And, Belarus, one of Europe's least democratic countries, appears to be using U.S. electoral flaws to excuse their own corrupt practices.

Es grenzt schon an moderne Wegelagerei, wie sich Konzerne wie RWE und Eon, kommunale Stadtwerke und Beteiligungsgesellschaften mit dem scheinbaren Automatismus der Gaspreisbindung an den Ölpreis nahezu hemmungslos beim Verbraucher bedienen. Ein anschauliches Beispiel liefert die Stadt Mülheim a.d. Ruhr:

Gaspreise: Schamlose Abzockerei durch Politik und Konzerne!?

Der Mülheimer Gasversorger MEDL (Mülheimer Energie-Dienstleister) gehört zu 51% der Stadt, zu 49% der RWE-Tochter Rhenag. Die MEDL wirft Jahr für Jahr sehr hohe Überschüsse ab, welche für die meisten Privatfirmen schwindelerregend wären, halt ganz so, als sei das Gasgeschäft eine Lizenz zum Gelddrucken.

Das freut die Kommunalpolitiker doppelt: Neben zig Millionen Euro für den heruntergewirtschafteten, bankrotten Haushalt übernimmt die MEDL über Sponsoring u.a. im Sportbereich Aufgaben, die Kommune und Land nicht mehr können, natürlich aber nur, wenn dies den Kleinfürsten der großen Parteien genehm ist.

Die MEDL erhöhte zum 1. November die Gaspreise um ca. 10%, liegt damit weiterhin im oberen Mittelfeld der NRW-Gasversorger. Begründet wurde das mit den Ölpreiserhöhungen von vor 6 Monaten (sog. backlog). Da aber die wirkliche Öplreisexplosion und im Gefolge Preiserhöhungen der Gaslieferanten wie Eon-Tochter Ruhrgas oder die russische Gasprom erst danach stattfand, könnte die MEDL mit dem gleichen Argument die Gaspreise im Frühjahr oder Frühsommer erneut drastisch erhöhen, ohne direkte Rechtfertigungsprobleme zu bekommen, ohne dass irgendeine Regulierungsstelle etwas tun könnte!

Um aber gerade angesichts von Hartz IV ab Jan. und breitgestreuten Lohnkürzungen vieler Menschen seit Monaten für eine Gaspreisstabilität zu sorgen, stellten die MBI den Antrag an den Hauptausschuss am 25.11.04, den Finanzausschuss am 2911.04 und den Rat der Stadt Mülheim am 2.12.04, der MEDL als dem lokalen Gasversorger zu empfehlen, in 2005 anstehende nächste Gaspreiserhöhung auch aus sozialen Gründen heraus nicht durchzuführen vgl.

Die Stadt als Mehrheitsgesellschafter kann das sicher tun, zudem ja 0,0% Risiko besteht, dass dadurch die MEDL auch nur weniger Reingewinne machen würde als etwa im Jahr zuvor! Was passierte nun mit diesem durchaus diskutablem Antrag, der zwei Drittel der Mülheimer Bevölkerung direkt betrifft?

Im Hauptausschuss erklärte der Kämmerer knapp, dass die MEDL nur im Mittelfeld der NRW-Gaspreise liege, eine Begrenzung bzw. das beantragte Moratorium deshalb auch nicht angebracht sei und die gewählten "Volksvertreter" von SPD, CDU, Grünen und FDP gaben sich damit zufrieden und stimmten wortlos gegen den Antrag. Im Finanzausschuss das gleiche Spiel und im Rat stimmten sie gar den Punkt kommentarlos "einfach" von der Tagesordnung.

Soweit dazu, wie die sog. Volks- und Altparteien die Probleme des Volkes nicht zur Kenntnis, geschweige denn ernst nehmen!

P.S.: Wenigstens der MEDL-Chef zeigte etwas mehr Sensibilität: Er empfahl den Gaskunden, sich dringend Rücklagen zu bilden, um nicht bei den kommenden Jahresabrechnungen aus allen Wolken zu fallen!

2 C.I.A. REPORTS OFFER WARNINGS ON IRAQ'S PATH

WASHINGTON - A classified cable sent by the Central Intelligence Agency's station chief in Baghdad has warned that the situation in Iraq is deteriorating and may not rebound any time soon, according to government officials.

The cable, sent late last month as the officer ended a yearlong tour, presented a bleak assessment on matters of politics, economics and security, the officials said. They said its basic conclusions had been echoed in briefings presented by a senior C.I.A. official who recently visited Iraq.

The officials described the two assessments as having been "mixed," saying that they did describe Iraq as having made important progress, particularly in terms of its political process, and credited Iraqis with being resilient.

But over all, the officials described the station chief's cable in particular as an unvarnished assessment of the difficulties ahead in Iraq. They said it warned that the security situation was likely to get worse, including more violence and sectarian clashes, unless there were marked improvements soon on the part of the Iraqi government, in terms of its ability to assert authority and to build the economy.

Together, the appraisals, which follow several other such warnings from officials in Washington and in the field, were much more pessimistic than the public picture being offered by the Bush administration before the elections scheduled for Iraq next month, the officials said. The cable was sent to C.I.A. headquarters after American forces completed what military commanders have described as a significant victory, with the retaking of Falluja, a principal base of the Iraqi insurgency, in mid-November.

The American ambassador to Iraq, John D. Negroponte, was said by the officials to have filed a written dissent, objecting to one finding as too harsh, on the ground that the United States had made more progress than was described in combating the Iraqi insurgency. But the top American military commander in Iraq, Gen. George W. Casey Jr., also reviewed the cable and initially offered no objections, the officials said. One official said, however, that General Casey may have voiced objections in recent days.

The station chief's cable has been widely disseminated outside the C.I.A., and was initially described by a government official who read the document and who praised it as unusually candid. Other government officials who have read or been briefed on the document later described its contents. The officials refused to be identified by name or affiliation because of the delicacy of the issue. The station chief cannot be publicly identified because he continues to work undercover.

Asked about the cable, a White House spokesman, Sean McCormack, said he could not discuss intelligence matters. A C.I.A. spokesman would say only that he could not comment on any classified document.

It was not clear how the White House was responding to the station chief's cable. In recent months, some Republicans, including Senator John McCain of Arizona, have accused the agency of seeking to undermine President Bush by disclosing intelligence reports whose conclusions contradict the administration or its policies. But senior intelligence officials including John E. McLaughlin, the departing deputy director of central intelligence, have disputed those assertions. One government official said the new assessments might suggest that Porter J. Goss, the new director of central intelligence, was willing to listen to views different from those publicly expressed by the administration.

A separate, more formal, National Intelligence Estimate prepared in July and sent to the White House in August by American intelligence agencies also presented a dark forecast for Iraq's future through the end of 2005. Among three possible developments described in that document, the best case was tenuous stability and the worst case included a chain of events leading to civil war.

After news reports disclosed the existence of the National Intelligence Estimate, which also remains classified, President Bush initially dismissed the conclusions as nothing more than a guess. Since then, however, violence in Iraq has increased, including the recent formation of a Shiite militia intended to carry out attacks on Sunni militants.

The end-of-tour cable from the station chief, spelling out an assessment of the situation on the ground, is a less-formal product than a National Intelligence Estimate. But it was drafted by an officer who is highly regarded within the C.I.A. and who, as station chief in Baghdad, has been the top American intelligence official in Iraq since December 2003. The station chief overseas an intelligence operation that includes about 300 people, making Baghdad the largest C.I.A. station since Saigon during the Vietnam War era.

The senior C.I.A. official who visited Iraq and then briefed counterparts from other government agencies was Michael Kostiw, a senior adviser to Mr. Goss. One government official who knew about Mr. Kostiw's briefings described them as "an honest portrayal of the situation on the ground."

Since they took office in September, Mr. Goss and his aides have sought to discourage unauthorized disclosures of information. In a memorandum sent to C.I.A. employees last month, Mr. Goss said the job of the intelligence agency was to "provide the intelligence as we see it" but also to "support the administration and its policies in our work."

"As agency employees we do not identify with, support or champion opposition to the administration or its policies," Mr. Goss said in that memorandum, saying that he was seeking "to clarify beyond doubt the rules of the road." The memorandum urged intelligence employees to "let the facts alone speak to the policy maker."

Mr. Goss himself made his first foreign trip as the intelligence director last week, with stops that included several days in Britain and a day in Afghanistan, but he did not visit Iraq, the government officials said.

At the White House on Monday, President Bush himself offered no hint of pessimism as he met with Iraq's president, Sheik Ghazi al-Yawar. Despite the security challenges, Mr. Bush said, the United States continues to favor the voting scheduled for Iraq on Jan. 30 to "send the clear message to the few people in Iraq that are trying to stop the march toward democracy that they cannot stop elections."

"The American people must understand that democracy just doesn't happen overnight," he said. "It is a process. It is an evolution. After all, look at our own history. We had great principles enunciated in our Declarations of Independence and our Constitution, yet, we had slavery for a hundred years. It takes a while for democracy to take hold. And this is a major first step in a society which enables people to express their beliefs and their opinions."

In unserer HLV INFO hatten wir von der bundesweiten Studie über Mobilfunk-Strahlung durch Mobilfunk-Senderantennen berichtet.

Diese Studie wurde wie schon bekannt, im Auftrag des Bundesamtes für Strahlenschutz (BFS) von der in Kamp-Linfort ansässigen IMST GmbH über eine 117 Seiten umfassende Analyse erstellt.

Das Computer & Communications-Magazin CHIP berichtet hierüber in einem zweiseitigem Extrakt auf den Seiten 14 und 15.

Die Ausgabe 01/2005 ist bereits im Handel und kostet ohne CD € 1,99. Es empfiehlt sich, das Original wegen prominenter und farblicher Darstellung zu kaufen.

In dem Kurzbericht wird über die Ergebnisse des anerkannten Prüflabors IMST, welches lt. Insiderkreisen keineswegs mobilfunkkritisch tendiert, berichtet. Insofern erlangt die Analyse auch eine besondere Informationsbeachtung.

So heißt es u.a.:

"Eine seriöse Studie besagt: Die Ausbreitung von Mobilfunk-Strahlung verläuft chaotischer als bisher angenommen. Brisant: Auch in Häusern direkt unter den Antennen treten überraschend hohe Immisionen auf. Als Ergebnis der Messungen an über 341 Messpunkten in Deutschland wurde festgestellt, dass die Immissionen im direkten Umfeld von Mobilfunk-Basisstationen einer großen Streubreite unterliegen".

Wie in der Studie weiter zu lesen ist, sind bezüglich der Strahlungsstreuung bisher als "klassisch" geltende Regeln in Zweifel geraten.

2. A lawsuit is being filed challenging the outcome of the election, alleging widespread fraud. The "contest of election" lawsuit will be presented today to a judge from the Ohio Supreme Court on behalf of at least 25 voters who feel their voting rights were compromised.

4. 900 people attended a mass rally in Columbus at the Ohio Statehouse on Saturday, December 4. Citizens braved 15 mile/hour winds to demonstrate for continued investigation, litigation, recount, and recusal of Kenneth Blackwell. Greg Palast was featured at the rally, and Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee attended the evening symposium.

5. Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Rainbow PUSH Coalition have called for the recusal of Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell from the recount process based on his conflict of interest as co-chairman of the Ohio Bush/Cheney re-election campaign. Jackson also calls for a constitutional amendment to guarantee the right to vote for all U.S. citizens and to empower Congress to establish federal standards and nonpartisan administration of elections.

6. The Government Accountability Office has agreed to examine the security and accuracy of voting technologies, distribution and allocation of voting machines, and counting of provisional ballots as part of an investigation of broad systemic election administration issues.

7. House Judiciary Committee Democratic Members have sent a letter to Kenneth Blackwell asking him to respond to allegations of specific irregularities in vote tallying, registration peculiarities, counting discrepancies, unusual results, overvotes, spoiled ballots, machine problems, machine shortages, and invalidated provisional ballots.

8. There are people planning to picket S.O.S. Blackwell's office starting today, Monday, at 11:30 AM to demand that he:
- start the recount; and
- agree to recuse himself from the recount; and
- agree to appear before the House Judiciary Committee to answer questions
addressed to him in a 14-page letter dated 12/2/04 (signed by 12 Democratic members of that committee); and
- refrain from designating the Republican slate of presidential electors until such time as the recount is finished.

They asked me if I could give them some background information, advice, tips, pitfalls, etc. and other things to take into consideration. So maybe they want unbiased information from independant sources.

I am writing from Israel. My name is Zamir (in my language is a nightingale) Shalita. I am a microbiologist, retired after ~30 years in research (medical, biotechnology, genetic engineering etc). This now my 2nd career.

In Israel we two (an MD named Eli Richter) and me Zamir Shalita Ph.D. that fight the professional side of the debate with cellphone antennae, Israel Radio antennae, etc.

I am sure that you are well aware of what is in references, and you can find also in PUBMED. So may just very briefly mention some practical aspects/pitfalls etc:

1. Radiation does not have to be strong in order to be carcinogenic. As my late friend-colleague Prof. Neil Cherry used to say: "Any level is hazardous. Safe level is ZERO".

2. Practically speaking 1 microwatt per cm square is almost acceptable, but it is hazardous, and 5 microwatts per cm square is carcinogenic.

3. If the Danish Navy tests its own transmissions, I would not rely on their measurements, and check it with owned power density meter. I purchase meters from AlphaLab US email address: trifield@aros.net it costs $320.- but worths every cent.

4. The ICNIRP (=European recommendations aquired as standard) are based on heating, so they are sky high: 450 microwatts per cm square. Every country has a safety factor to reduce this monstreous standard: In Switzerland is 45, e.g. make it 10 microwatt per cm square, that is still too high. Austria cancelled ICNIRP standard in its space. In Israel is only 10, so we fight the Ministry of Environment on this as well as on other issues. The factor in Denmark is unknown to me, but there were Danish studies that did not find any damage inflicted by antennae radiating at ICNIRP permitted levels. Cancer may develop for 20 years so they do not find damage yet...

5. A Health warning for mobile phones has been ruled out despite complaints by some users that they are suffering dizziness and distorted vision.

It comes as the Christmas demand for mobile phones will leave many parents in particular worried about possible health risks.

Communications Minister Noel Dempsey has confirmed that the "overwhelming weight of evidence is that mobile phones are not responsible for their condition." However, he said focused research is continuing into the area and his officials will continue to monitor the issues of concern closely.

The minister was quizzed on the "widespread concern" among the medical profession of over exposure to mobile phones here which is resulting in headaches, dizziness, distorted vision and biological effects.

Fine Gael TD (Teachta Daile/Member of Parliament) Jimmy Deenihan asked if it was now time to attach a health warning to the phones in light of the worries. The minister said he was aware of the concerns and he relied on his officials with expertise to advise him on health issues relating to electromagnetic energy."

100,000 [EUROS] DAMAGE CAUSED TO KERRY MAST

Gardai in Co Kerry are investigating damage costing 100,000 [euros] caused to a controversial mobile mast near Fenit which had been about to go into operation. Damage was caused at the Meteor mast's communications cabin at Ballygarron, The Spa, on the night of November 30th/December 1st.

Gardai said the cabin door was forced open and communications equipment set on fire. The Meteor mast was recently granted planning permission after the telecommunications company appealed a county council refusal to An Bord Pleanala.

There had been widespread opposition to the mast, located between Tralee and Fenit. Overlooking the coastline, it is seen from a wide area.

Sinn Fein TD Mr Martin Ferris was the chairman of an anti-mast action committee, AMAC. The committee disbanded after An Bord Pleanala granted permission to Meteor Mobile Communications Ltd early in September. Mr Ferris said no one in the locality would condone anyone taking the law into their own hands. "But there would be an understanding why it happened," he said. There are up to 50 houses within a kilometre of the mast, Mr Ferris said. The committee had considered taking a case to the High Court but decided against it because of the costs involved, he said.

Kerry County Council had refused permission on the grounds that it contravened the county development plan as it is within one kilometre of residential properties. An inspector from An Bord Pleanala also recommended refusal on the grounds that it "would be visually obtrusive and would have significant impact on the visual amenities of the area." An Bord Pleanala granted permission, referring to the national strategy regarding the improvement of mobile communications, and said the site was not restricted in the county plan.

As many of you may be aware Gill and I have been involved in a campaign group called Parents and Residents against Masts (PRAM) protesting against Network Rail building a towering 96 ft radio communication mast right next to our houses.

Network Rail has what is known as Permitted Development Rights which means they do not need planning permission to erect these monstrosities.

In the case of our mast they did not even tell us the mast (remember it is 96 ft high!!!) was to be built before they started.

We have raised a petition on line which we have been advised is a realistic way to ask Scottish Parliament to review this hugely unfair law. We are asking only that Network Rail have to obtain planning permission in the normal manner before erecting any more masts - over 2000 masts in the UK are required for this new radio system being introduced. Strathclyde is the pilot scheme which is why it is vital the law is changed now - you could have a mast coming to your neighbourhood without yet knowing about it.

In England berichtete die »Sun« am 06.08.2002 in einem Artikel mit dem Titel »Krebs und Mobilfunk« über die Carnavon Street in South Woodford, östlich von London. »Cancer Street« (Straße des Krebses) wird sie im Volksmund bereits genannt.

Seit 1995 stehen dort nicht weniger als 16 Sendemasten auf einem einzigen Gebäude. In 5 von 7 Häusern sind Menschen an Krebs erkrankt.

Die gesetzlichen Grenzwerte werden eingehalten. Vielleicht sind diese aber auch einfach zu hoch.

Mobilfunkbetreiber hintergehen Regierungssicherheits-Richtlinien, indem sie neben Schulen heimlich Mobilfunkmasten verstecken. Eine schockierende Untersuchung ist ans Tageslicht gekommen.

Der schlimmste Fall, der aufgedeckt wurde, ist eine Primarschule in Soho Parish Church of England in Central London mit 27 Mobilfunkmasten innerhalb von 200 Yards (ca. 182 Meter) vor ihren Toren – und dies trotz Warnungen, dass Abstrahlungen die Gesundheit der Kinder schädigen könnten.

Gemäss den Richtlinien, die das Office des Deputy Prime Ministers, John Prescott, erlassen hat, wird erwartet, dass Schulen vor der Errichtung von Masten konsultiert werden. Aber viele Schulvorsteher haben keine Ahnung, dass vor ihren Schulhäusern Masten stehen, weil die Anlagen oft versteckt sind in Strassen- und Tankstellentafeln.

Rachel Earnshaw, Leiterin der Soho Parish sagte: „Ich hatte keine Ahnung, dass so viele Antennen neben der Schule stehen. Das ist sehr beunruhigend, weil über die Langzeiteffekte nicht genug bekannt ist von diesen Dingen. Wir haben keine technischen Kenntnisse, so dass es sehr leicht ist für die Betreiber, uns mit „Wissenschaft“ zu blenden.“

Parlamentsmitglieder und Kämpfer beschuldigten gestern die Regierung, nicht Willens zu sein, das Problem anzupacken, aus Furcht, die grossen Mobilfunkgesellschaften, die 23 Billionen Pfund für die Lizenzen bezahlt hatten, um die dritte Generation betreiben zu können, zu verärgern.

Das Parlamentsmitglied Richard Spring sagte: „Der Verhaltenskodex wird ignoriert und der Planungsprozess ist eine Farce. Wir könnten Gesundheitsprobleme bei unserer Jugend anhäufen, die erst in 20 Jahren sichtbar werden. Der Grund könnten die „3G“Lizenzen sein, die so viel Geld einbringen, dass die Regierung sich fürchtet, die Mobilfunkgesellschaften zur Rechenschaft zu ziehen.“

Die Richtlinien, die die Betreiber im Jahr 2002 unterzeichneten, lauten: Wo vorgesehen ist, eine Mobilfunk-Basisstation einzurichten, zu verändern oder zu ersetzen, auf oder neben einer Schule oder eines Colleges, müssen die Betreiber mit den betreffenden Körperschaften diskutieren, und zwar vor der Einreichung eines Baugesuchs oder vor der Zustimmung der lokalen Behörden.

Aber die Recherchen der BBC haben ergeben, dass in mehr als Dreiviertel aller Fälle. wo neue 3G-Masten in der Nähe von Schulen errichtet wurden, keine Konsultationen stattgefunden hatten. Der schlimmste Missetäter, sagt man, sei Vodafone, gefolgt von 3 UK und T-Mobile.

Zurzeit gibt es in Grossbritannien 40'000 Mobilfunkmasten und 2350 Schulen haben mindestens einen Mast innerhalb von 50 bis 200 Metern Entfernung. In einer Entfernung, wo mögliche schädliche Strahlenemissionen am stärksten sind.

Pat Holmes, Leiter der St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Primarschule in Leeds, die von zwei Mastenn auf einem Nachbardach bestrahlt wird, sagte: „Es gibt zunehmende Beweise, dass diese Dinger Kindern schaden können. Wenn wir gewusst hätten, was passiert, hätten wir unsere Besorgnis ausgedrückt.“

Warnung des Gesundheitsamtes

Sir William Stewart, Vorsitzender des Gesundheitsamtes, warnte vor vier Jahren in seinem Rapport über Mobilfunksicherheit,, dass kleine Kinder wegen ihrer Körpergrösse und Gewicht ungefähr zweimal so viele Strahlen absorbieren könnten wie Erwachsene. Er empfahl, dass die Schulen und Eltern genügend Informationen erhalten sollten, damit sie ihre Meinung bilden können.

Von Nasenbluten bis Krebs

Malcolm Nobie, Sprecher der „Secondary Heads Association“ und Leiter der „Bexleyheath Comprehensive“ in Kent sagte: „Die Selbstregulierung funktioniert nicht. Es sollte gesetzlich vorgeschrieben sein, dass sie die Schulen konsultieren.“ Und Karen Barratt von der Kampfgruppe „Mast Sanity“ sagte: „Wir besitzen Beweise von vermehrten Krankheiten bei Leuten, die in der Nähe von Antennenmasten wohnen, von Krankheitssymptomen wie: Schwindel, Übelkeit, Hautproblemen und Nasenbluten, bis Krebs.“

Der liberale Demokrat. Parlamentsmitglied und Vorsitzender der „all Parlamentary Group“ für Mobiltelefonie, Phil Willis, sagte: „Das Parlament hat sich hinter der freiwilligen Vereinbarung versteckt, die klar nicht funktioniert. London hat die dichteste Konzentration von Mobilfunkmasten, gefolgt von Milton Keynes, Portsmouth und Brighton.

Ein Sprecher des Büros des Deputy Prime Minister. sagte: „Wir werden im neuen Jahr eine beratende Studie veranlassen, betreffend die Handhabung der Vereinbarung. Zurzeit haben wir keine Beweise, dass die Vereinbarung routinemässig ignoriert wird.“

Mike Dolan, Executive Direktor der Mobilfunkvereinigung sagte: „Die Betreiber machen ausführliche Konsultationen und sind verpflichtet, die Vereinbarung einzuhalten. Falls widersprüchliche Behauptungen bestehen, werden sie diese untersuchen.“

Weil die Mobilfunkbetreiber 60% ihres Umsatzes mit Kindern und Jugendlichen machen, wird auch in der Schweiz dafür gesorgt, dass vorzugsweise zuerst alle Schulen ordentlich bestrahlt werden. Und in London gibt es übrigens eine Strasse, die den traurigen Namen „Cancer-Street“ (Krebsstrasse) erhalten hat, weil es dort fast in jedem Haus einen oder mehrere Krebsfälle gibt.

„Strahlende“ Weihnachten – Verschenkte Krankheit!
Wie krank macht die moderne Mikrowellentechnik?

Unter diesem Motto informierte die BIKE Vogt e.V. die Bürgerschaft am Mittwoch, dem 01.12.2004 im Flammenhof in Vogt zu den „Gesundheitsrisiken“ der modernen Mikrowellengeräte.

Die BIKE Vogt e.V. hat sich zur Aufgabe gemacht die Vogter Bürger noch vor dem Fest über die Risiken der gepulsten elektromagnetischen Felder zu informieren. Die Fragen der Vogter Bevölkerung beantworteten der sehr kompetente Münchner Arzt Dr. med. Scheiner und Wolfgang Welzel im Vogter „Flammenhof“. Um 20 Uhr wurde die Veranstaltung im sehr gut gefüllten Flammenhof von Heike Veser-Herrmann mit einer Übersicht über die Thematik eröffnet und die etwa 80 Besucher konnten gleich im Anschluss ihre Fragen an die Experten richten.

Up to date und modern lebt, wer seinen Haushalt mit den neuesten Mikrowellengeräten aufrüstet – so die Werbeaussage der Elektronikindustrie, die pünktlich zum Weihnachtsgeschäft mit Dumpingpreisen vor allem um die jugendliche Käuferschaft wirbt. Damit sind nicht nur die Mikrowellenöfen in der Küche gemeint, sondern „coole“ Handys oder schnurlose Telefone nach dem DECT-Standart, kabellose Verbindungen ins Internet per WLAN und kabellose Verbindungen zu den einzelnen Geräten des Computerarbeitsplatzes bzw. den Spielekonsolen mittels Bluetooth.

All die genannten Geräte haben vieles gemeinsam: Man braucht sie nicht wirklich und sie senden gepulste Funkwellen in einer Sendestärke aus, die millionenfach über den Werten liegen, auf die der menschliche Organismus bereits mit Abwehr reagiert.

Über 70 % der Haushalte sind bereits mit schnurlosen Telefonen nach dem DECT-Standard ausgestattet, die permanent senden, auch wenn nicht telefoniert wird. Zu den funkenden Telefonen stimmen jetzt auch noch die kabellosen Funk-Fernbedienungen und PCs in das Funkkonzert mit ein, so dass zusammen mit dem „normalen“ Elektrosmog der Mobilfunk-Basisstationen und der übrigen Funksender, der Verbraucher rund um die Uhr einem Strahlengewitter ausgesetzt, welches nicht ohne Folgen bleiben kann.

Fatal an gepulsten Mikrowellen ist, dass man zunächst nichts spürt und dass diese Strahlung Wände durchdringt und somit jeder Mensch rund um die Uhr, egal ob im Haus oder im Freien, ungeschützt als lebende Antenne fungiert. Obwohl die Experten kein Referat hielten, wurde in den Dialogen zwischen Publikum und Experten die komplette Palette der wichtigsten Gesundheitsrisiken angesprochen, sowie bildlich und informativ dargelegt.

Das Spektrum reichte von DNS-Schädigungen verbunden mit erhöhtem Krebsrisiko, Unfruchtbarkeit bei Mann und Frau, hirndegenerativen Erkrankungen wie Alzheimerkrankheit, vorzeitige Demenz oder Parkinson-Syndrom, oder die Schwächung des Immunsystems mit all seinen Folgen, und einiges mehr. Dr. Scheiner prognostizierte eine kräftige Zunahme dieser Krankheitsbilder in den nächsten 5-8 Jahren. Belegt wurden die Aussagen der Experten durch Forschungsergebnisse unabhängiger Institute und Wissenschaftler, die von der Industrie und der Politik bis heute hartnäckig ignoriert werden.

Einige der gezeigten Experimente kann jeder Verbraucher selbst machen. Um beispielsweise zu überprüfen, ob ein Mikrowellenofen strahlungsdicht ist, braucht man nur ein betriebsbereites Mobiltelefon hineinlegen und dieses anzurufen. Die Zuhörer im Flammenhof konnten sich an diesem Abend davon überzeugen. Zudem berichteten die Experten, dass die Mikrowelle nicht geeignet ist, um Nahrung zu erwärmen. Neueste wissenschaftliche Forschungen ergaben, dass die Antioxidantien bei dem Erhitzungsprozess entfernt werden und somit diese „Nahrung“ keinen Wert mehr hat.

Einer der Schwerpunkte dieser Veranstaltung war die Gefährdung der Kinder und des ungeborene Lebens. Sogar das Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz und die WHO warnen vor den Gesundheitsrisiken und empfehlen Kinder von Handys fernzuhalten.

Da Hilfe von Seiten der Politik auf Grund ihrer Verstrickung in dieses Millionengeschäft nicht zu erwarten ist, ist die einzig wirkungsvolle Waffe im Kampf gegen den Elektrosmog der Verzicht auf „strahlende Gaben“. Was der Markt nicht verlangt wird auch nicht produziert.

So war dem Publikum nach zweieinhalb Stunden klar, dass zuviel Funk das Gesundheitsrisiko steigert und es werden jetzt sicher etwas weniger „funkende“ Geschenke unter dem ein oder anderen Weihnachtsbaum liegen.

Weihnachten droht und schon laufen die Mobilfunkbetreiber und Handyhersteller auf "Hochform" auf: Da werden Kinder und Jugendliche beinahe genötigt ihren Eltern zu bearbeiten, Verträge zu unterzeichnen, gut mit Lebkuchen gelockt - wie im Märchen (so geschehen Anfang dieser Woche von T-Mobil am Bahnhofsvorplatz!), da ziehe ich aus meinem Briefkasten täglich 1-2 Angebote zur Anwendung dieser Technik, egal, ob W-Lan-Laptops oder sogenannte Wichtigtuer-Händis, und dies auf Hochglanzpapier. Nein, es können die Druckkosten der Hersteller nicht hoch genug sein, denn die Suchtbindung, auch Kundenbindung genannt, bringt langfristig einen Supergewinn.

Leider muss man die Leute immer wieder erinnern: jedes Handy - und sei es noch so selten benutzt - braucht eine Ketten von Mobilfunkantennen. Schauen Sie sich in Ihrer Nachbarschaft um: irgendwo steht im Umkreis von 500 bis 1000 Metern eine größere oder auch eine kleinere Antenne auf den Dächern oder an Fassaden. Und wer aus seinem Fenster Blickkontakt zu solchen Antennen hat, möge sich schon mal zum Messen der Wohnräume melden.....dafür dürfte der Empfang sehr gut sein.

Engagierte Mitmenschen kämpfen in der Stadt und Landkreis gegen Antennenmasten und Dachantennen, gegen W-Lan in Schulen und Betrieben, - und sie haben Gründe dafür, die in der gesundheitlichen Vorsorge begründet liegen.

"Quantenzirkel": Kontroverse Diskussion im Krämmel-Forum

Wolfratshausen - Es war kein leichter Abend für Dr. Anne Dehos. Die Biologin vom Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz (BfS) diskutierte am Freitag im Krämmel-Forum mit Dr. Claus Scheingraber vom Arbeitskreis Elektro-Biologie am Beispiel des Mobilfunks über die Frage: "Schützt der Staat seine Bürger?" Rund 60 Interessierte, darunter viele Elektrosensible, waren der Einladung des "Quantenzirkels" gefolgt und konfrontierten Dehos mit ihrer Kritik. Schon bei den Eingangsstatements wurden die gegensätzlichen Positionen deutlich: Während Dehos die aktuell gültigen Grenzwerte erläuterte und das bis 2006 laufende Deutsche Mobilfunkforschungsprogramm vorstellte, brandmarkte Scheingraber die gegenwärtige Forschung, die unter anderem Kunststoffmodelle zur Simulation des Kopfes einsetzt, als "völlig inadäquat". Sein Hauptkritikpunkt: "Das Ganze ist mehr als die Summe der Teile - aber die Wirkung multipler elektromagnetischer Felder wird überhaupt nicht beachtet." Dehos hielt dagegen, dass unterhalb der aktuell gültigen Grenzwerte bisher keine gesundheitlichen Auswirkungen nachgewiesen worden seien und verwies auf die Vorsorge-Tipps des BfS: Bei Anrufen solle man bevorzugt das Festnetz nutzen oder über ein Headset telefonieren, Dauer-Gespräche mit dem Handy vermeiden, auf guten Empfang achten oder ersatzweise eine SMS schicken.

Laut Scheingraber könnten die heutigen Grenzwerte aber problemlos "um den Faktor 1000 bis 10 000" gesenkt werden. Einzige Einschränkung: "Dann bräuchten wir mehr Sendemasten und man könnte nicht mehr in Zügen oder Tiefgaragen telefonieren", so der Zahnarzt aus Brunnthal.

Omega eine Absenkung um den Faktor "1000 bis 10 000" ist nicht ausreichend. Im Februar 2002 wurde von der Landessanitätsdirektion Salzburg für Innenräume ein Wert von 1Mikrowatt/m² (0.02V/m) vorgeschlagen und den GSM-Netzbetreibern und der Politik in Salzburg mitgeteilt. Für das Freie wird derzeit ein Höchstwert von 10Mikrowatt/m² (0.06V/m) herangezogen. Der Vorschlag basiert auf empirischen Erkenntnissen der letzten Jahre.

Die Salzburger Vorsorgewerte liegen damit nur noch leicht über den baubiologischen Richtwerten und sehr deutlich unter den gültigen Grenzwerten der meisten Länder (Deutschland: 4,5 bzw. 9 Millionen Mikrowatt/Quadratmeter (41 resp 58V/m) für das D- und E-Netz).

Moderatorin Nortrud Semmler vom Bayerischen Rundfunk bemühte sich zwar, die Diskussion anfangs auf das Podium zu begrenzen, dennoch machten einige Zuhörer bald ihrem Unmut Luft: "Wenn der Verdacht der Schädlichkeit besteht, darf man die Menschheit nicht flächendeckend bestrahlen", schimpfte etwa der geobiologische Berater Dieter Kugler.

Das von Dehos immer wieder ins Feld geführte Deutsche Mobilfunkforschungsprogramm kam dem Publikum über zehn Jahre nach der Einführung der Handy-Technik deutlich zu spät. "Und wenn die Netzbetreiber die Hälfte der Projektkosten übernehmen, ist sowieso klar, wie die Ergebnisse ausfallen", urteilte ein Zuhörer. Kritisiert wurden neben der neuen UMTS-Technik auch die zunehmende Verbreitung von DECT-Schnurlostelefonen und die Einführung von drahtlosen Computer-Netzwerken (WLAN) in Schulen. Urgent action needed re harrogate 3 schools mast - please contact your mp now

If the Secretary of State does not appeal,the Harrogate decision health concerns may not be considered in planning applications for mobile phone mast for decades. He has until the ?9th ? 10th december to change his mind

Please write /e-mail /fax/telephone John Prescott NOW if you think he should appeal the decision..

Please send copies and ring /write to your mps now we have less than one week.

I rang the ODPM and was told they cant decide what to do as the judgement has not yet been published-- it may be published after the deadline for appeals!

If you are concerned about the health effects of mobile phone masts and want the right to have these concerns considered when a mast is applied for by your childrens school you need to act now!!

If not the battle for our children protection at school and at home may be over for a long time-- this will affect EVERY mast application which follows.

Dear Mr Prescott

I am writing to demand that the Secretary of State appeals the decision made by the court of appeal in the case of the Harrogate Mast /Three Schools case.

The issue as to whether ICNIRP certification should be enough to reassure the community of safety of mast emissions was not in my opinion properly considered.

The ICNIRP limits relate only to the heating effects of the mast and do not address the non thermal effects which concern many communities living around masts. It also only relates the immediate effects, and not the long term or biological effects on those continuously exposed.

This is particularly relevant in relation to exposure of Children, as their skulls are less protective against this form of radiation

The Stewart Report recommended adoption of the precautionary principle specifically because insufficient evidence of safety of non thermal effects was available at the time to establish a safe lower limit of exposure.

Increasing evidence from epidemiological studies and controlled laboratory studies in Europe suggests that there are significant non-thermal adverse effects at very much lower levels of exposure than the ICNIRP guidelines.

The Secretary of State has a responsibility not only to the children of Harrogate but to all the children in the UK who will be affected by the court’s decision, which in effect disenfranchises parents from decisions which affect the health and wellbeing of their children.

The court’s decision misrepresents ICNIRP as guidelines which consider all health risks, when they only address the easily quantifiable thermal short term non biological effects.

If this government is to retain ANY credibility in relation to its independence of influence from the multinational phone operators, the Secretary of State must challenge the appeal court decision rigorously and effectively.

The issues are quite straightforward either the Secretary of State

· will not appeal and in so doing will chose to support these multinationals right to ride roughshod over the well informed concerns of ordinary people

or

· he will appeal the decision to enable the health concerns of parents to be properly addressed in relation to the siting of mobile phone masts close to schools.

If the Secretary of State does not appeal the court’s decision it is clear that this government is not able to protect our democracy or our children.
