McDonald: Hamburger ohne Einsatz von gentechnisch verändertem Tierfutter anbieten

„Gemein!

Are you a citizen of the United States?

The Answer to the question asked above, "Are you a United States citizen?" is (in most cases) NO!

Here again, you have been tricked! The "United States" is the legal, proper, formal name, created by our founding fathers, for the home of the "federal government" and its "territory!" In other words, it is the Proper Name for Federal Land (the District of Columbia and federal territories).

The individual States, which joined forces and formed the "united States of America," should not be confused with the title of "United States," which is reserved for the District of Columbia and the territories controlled by the federal government. Obviously, in the light of what we have always thought we knew, this sounds a little bizarre. However, the united States supreme Court (Editors Note: This is the CORRECT capitalization of this name) addressed the question of the meaning of the term "United States" in the case of Hooven & Allison Co. v. Evatt (1945).

The court ruled that the term "United States" has three uses:

"...either as the name of a sovereign occupying the position analogous to that of other sovereigns in the family of nations, or "...as designating the territory over which the sovereignty of the United States (Federal government) extends, or "...as the collective name for the states which are united by and under the Constitution."

In other words, the term "United States" means:

"'These united States', or "the District of Columbia and all other federal lands such as Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Guam, Marianas Islands, American Samoa, etc. or, "The union of states which is the 'united States of America'."

So, assuming you were born in one of the 50 freely associated sovereign states, you are a Citizen (note Capitalization) of the State in which you were born, and as a result are a Citizen of the union of states known as the "united States of America," but you are not now, and never have been, a "citizen of the United States." If you have an American Passport, look at it. Notice that it is from the "United States of America" (NOT the "United States"), and that it does not contain a Social Security Number!

Another way to verify this is to read that marvelous founding document, the Constitution. Remember that the writers of this remarkable document were extremely well educated and articulate men. They knew the meaning of the words they used.

Article [X]

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. "[underlines added]

Obviously, the "United States" and the "States" used here CANNOT be the same thing, or the sentence is redundant. The framers of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights knew exactly what they were writing -- that the powers not designated to the "federal" government were reserved to the several freely associated States and the people!

Remember that under the Constitution ALL power originated with the PEOPLE -- who delegated some of it to the States, which in turn delegated some of their power to the "federal" government to do those things for the Union that the individual states could not do well for themselves (foreign embassies, etc.).

The Constitution is designed to LIMIT the power of the "central" government, not expand it. The founding fathers had, after all, just fought the Revolutionary War to make sure that the new "central" government did not have the power, such as King George III exercised, to usurp the "unalienable rights" they had proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence ten years earlier. Probably all of your life you've been told that you are a citizen of the United States. You were even intentionally taught this falsehood in school (which, no doubt was federally funded -- and had its curriculum in large measure dictated by Washington).

Well, Congratulations! NOW you know who you really are. And you know just a little bit of the freedom and power bequeathed to you by the architects of this incredible land.

What you have just learned about is an unprecedented GRAB for power by the "federal" government! (We do not have a "national" government.) In fact, Agents of the "federal" government have NO jurisdiction within the borders of these separate and sovereign united States -- unless you give it to them!

That includes agents of ANY federal government agency: EPA, IRS, and any agency! They are "foreign" to the sovereign States!

Ventria Threatens To Contaminate Missouri Rice with Pharmaceutical Rice - Engineered With Human Genes

This was just forwarded by Anne Mendenhall of Aurora, NY. It sounds as though comments will be accepted by the Missouri Dept of Ag even after today--

Ventria Threatens To Contaminate Missouri Rice with Pharmaceutical Rice -- Engineered With Human Genes

Please Submit Comments To: 1) USDA and 2) Missouri Department
of Agriculture
DEADLINE: Friday, March 25
This is FAST AND EASY: Sample Comments are Linked Below.
Federal Register Notice:

A Sample Letter (developed by the Center for Food Safety) to Missouri’s Department of Agriculture:

Sample Comments to USDA:

If you wish to prepare your own comments, simply reject the rice field trials based on the impossibility of stopping contamination, and the economic damage it would cause to Missouri rice growers and rice industry.

BACKGROUND (From the Center for Food Safety):
A small pharmaceutical company called Ventria Biosciences is attempting to plant its varieties of genetically engineering pharmaceutical rice - ENGINEERED WITH HUMAN GENES - in the Bootheel of Missouri, the heart of the state's rice-producing region.

They have applied to the US Department of Agriculture for permits to grow up to 204 acres of their rice, and hope to plant it this spring.

The US Food and Drug Administration has not certified that this rice is safe for human consumption, and their policy states that drugs in food are unacceptable. And, many scientists, rice farmers and regulators acknowledge that it is impossible to guarantee that contamination of the food supply won't happen. The Missouri RiceResearch and Merchandising Council is opposed to the planting of this rice, and the National Food Processors Association demands no use of food or feed crops for plant-made pharmaceutical production without a 100% guarantee against any contamination.

One year ago, Ventria attempted to plant its drug-producing rice in California. A huge outcry from rice farmers, environmentalists, consumers, and legislators forced the California Department of Food and Agriculture to delay a decision, which prevented the planting in 2004. Ventria has since moved its operations to Missouri, where it expects to meet with less resistance and regulations.

PLEASE HELP STOP THE PLANTING OF VENTRIA'S RICE. This is the only way to protect the food supply from contamination by drugs, and to protect the economic well-being of Missouri’s rice farmers. BOTH THE USDA AND THE MISSOURI DEPT. OF AGRICULTURE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU! Time is short -- the USDA public comment period ends tomorrow, Friday, March 25th (though send comments in, especially to MO Dept. of Ag, if you get this action alert after March 25th).

Dead Scientists

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Excellent links at bottom. Check those for my friend David Kelly. WAT

Dead Scientists DO Tell Tales

Microbiologist Dr. David Kelly, 59, was found dead after seemingly slashing his wrist in a wood near his home at Southmoor, Oxfordshire, days after being named as the Iraq dossier mole. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death continues. Dr. Kelly was Britain's leading expert on Baghdad's weapons programs. Dr. Steven Mostow, 63, was one of the country's leading infectious disease and bioterrorism experts and was associate dean at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He died in a plane crash near Centennial Airport. Dr. Ian Langford, 40, found dead at his blood-spattered and ransacked home. Langford was a Senior Fellow at the Univ. of East Anglia's Centre for Social and Economic Research on the Global Environment in the UK. He was discovered by police and ambulance men. The body was naked from the waist down and partly wedged under a chair. Cause of death: not determined by post-mortem examination. Dr. David Banks, 55, died in an aircraft crash in Queensland, AU. Much of Dr. Banks' work involved trying to keep diseases affecting cattle, pigs and fruit orchards out of Australia. His current work looked at foot and mouth disease and its potential to spread through the archipelago and Australia in addition to swine fever, Nipah virus and Japanese encephalitis.

Virus expert, Dr Robert E. Shope, and principal author of a highly publicized 1992 report by the National Academy of Sciences warning of the possible emergence of new and unsettling infectious illnesses died at age 74 of lung transplant complicatons. Dr. Shope also built the World Reference Center for Emerging Viruses and Arboviruses, a collection of some 5,000 samples. Harvard biochemistry professor Don C. Wiley has been declared missing after his abandoned rental car was discovered on a highway outside of Memphis, Tenn. The car, discovered on I-40—which runs between Memphis and Arkansas—had the keys in the ignition, the hazard lights off and a full tank of gas. Award-winning micro-biologist David Wynn-Williams, 55, killed by a vehicle while out jogging in England. In 2000 he was appointed leader of the Antarctic Astrobiology Project, which explores the effects of environmental stress at the limits of life on Earth. Wynn-Williams had assessed the capability of microbes to adapt to environmental extremes, including the bombardment of ultraviolet rays and global warming. Dr. Eugene F. Mallove, a Norwich Free Academy graduate, 56, died May 14, 2004 after being beaten to death during an alleged robbery. Mallove appeared on Coast To Coast AM as recently as Feb. 2004 speaking about alternative energy. Mallove was well respected for his knowledge of cold fusion. http://www.infinite-energy.com/

Jeong H. Im, retired protein chemist, age 72, was found in the burning trunk of his car with mutlitple stab wounds to the chest. West Nile researcher, Dr. Michael Perich, 46, died in a one-vehicle car accident. From 1986 to 1992, Perich worked at Fort Detrick in Frederick, Md., as the vector suppression program manager and research medical entomologist. Colleagues described him as "one of the few entomologists with the experience to go out and save lives today."

Hi Bob and All,

Thanks for this info, Bob. I went looking for some info on that cable-car crash - I remember well what a brouhaha that caused on the 'net afterwards. It appears that these scientists were observatory workers, not microbiologists, but still, the mysteries of the Vatican Observatory coverups still abound. I have attached a few links for more info on both events - our dead microbiologists are definitely just as mysterious and unsettling...

French cable car crash kills 20

Everyone aboard the cable car was killed

July 1, 1999

Web posted at: 9:08 a.m. EDT (1308 GMT)

GRENOBLE, France -- A cable car plummeted to the ground in the French Alps early Thursday, killing all 20 people on board, local officials said. Earlier reports indicated 21 people died.

The cause of the crash, which occurred at 7:30 a.m. as the cable car was taking staff members of an observatory to the top of the 2,700-meter (8,900-foot) Pic de Bure mountain, was not immediately known.

The regional prefect, Remi Caron, said the car detached itself from the cable, but the cable did not snap, as had been previously reported.

Most of the victims were reported to be employees of the observatory, which is run by French, German and Spanish scientists. The cable car was used only for the observatory and no tourists were believed to be on board.

The cable car fell 80 meters (260 feet), in the resort town of Saint-Etienne-en-Devoluy, south of Grenoble.

"The cable car fell. We don't know why. These are working people and they are dead," the resort's mayor, Jean-Marie Bernard, told Radio France-Info.

The crash occurred at a resort in the French Alps

A spokesman in the prefect's office said 10 staff members of a public works company, five scientists from the IRAM astronomical institute and telephone company employees from Marseille were among the victims.

All the bodies were recovered Thursday morning, officials at the prefect's office confirmed.

An official investigation has begun into the cause of the accident, France's worst cable car disaster in more than 30 years.

The chief representative of the cable car union said the cable car was built in the 1980s and had recently passed a safety inspection. "It was in perfect working order," Charles Simiand said.

Simiand said the system consisted of one cable car with room for 20 passengers and another smaller one used to transport equipment.

Scientists from all over the world are known to visit the observatory, which is used virtually year round.

IRAM, the Institut de Radio-Astronomie Millimetrique, has set up six large antennas on top of the mountain to monitor stellar activity.

The crash occurred near the site of a 1976 accident on the same gondola lift, blamed on operator error, which killed 42 people.

Nine on trial over fatal French cable-car accident

Story from AFP
Copyright 2003 by Agence France-Presse (via ClariNet)

GAP, France, Nov 12 (AFP) - A manslaughter trial opened in a court in southeastern France Wednesday to examine a July 1999 cable-car accident in the Alps that left 20 people dead.

Nine people stand accused of involuntary homicide over the fatal accident in Pic de Bure, in the French Alps.

The judge in the Gap court said the accused, "through clumsiness, recklessness, negligence or dereliction of safety obligations, committed a clear error that exposed others to danger ... a danger you could not ignore."

The privately-owned cable car was carrying technicians and workers from France's National Centre for Scientific Research when it started slipping backwards before breaking free and plummeting 80 metres (260 feet).

A report by experts blamed the accident on the cabin's absence of brakes, which had been deactivated in 1984 and removed in 1986.

The report also criticised the long-running problems besetting the use of the cable car, including the frequent overloading of the cabin, and the lack of maintenance, control and surveillance, and notably safety systems.

Books NOT Bombs

Join us in an historic 24-hour emergency read-in! Libraries are the soul of our communities, providing vital services to all—especially the most low-income members and children. We NEED YOU to help save our libraries!

While Congress is about to allocate another $81 billion for war, vital services at home are being slashed—affordable housing, food stamps, public transportation, health care, and education—including libraries. According to the American Library Association, library funding cuts have topped $100 million in the last 18 months, and libraries in almost every state in the nation are facing cuts of up to 50 percent.

In Salinas, California--the hometown of the great John Steinbeck and heart of the farmworker community, the entire public library system is scheduled to close for lack of funds. This poor farmworker community has paid $80.5 million in taxes for the war in Iraq, but doesn’t have $5 million to keep its libraries open.

As part of CODEPINK ’s new Local Cost of War Campaign designed to save vital community services while highlighting the billions spent on war, we teamed up with the Salinas Action League, United Farmworkers and other community groups to organize an “Emergency 24-hour Read-In” at Salinas’ Cesar Chavez Library on April 2-3.

Please join us: bring your tent (if you have one), sleeping bag and favorite books. You’ll be in great company: among the readers will be actors Hector Elizondo and Mike Farrell; poets Gary Soto and Jose Montoya; community leaders Dolores Huerta and Salinas Mayor Anna Caballero; musician Dr. Loco; and writers Maxine Hong Kingston, Riane Eisler, James Houston, Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston, Jack Kornfield, Meredith Maran, and Wes “Scoop” Nisker, and many more. Click here for more details.

If you are from Califonia, please join us in Salinas and take a moment to sign a petition to Governor Schwarzenegger asking him to solve the crisis in Salinas and our library system in general. If you are from outside the state, please pass this alert on to friends, families, listserves in California.

We urge you to learn about the budget cuts in your city and state, and to team up with community groups fighting to save critical social services. It’s a great way for CODEPINK to support community needs, educate new constituencies about the cost of the Iraq war and build broad coalitions that can effectively promote our values: Books Not Bombs, Healthcare not Warfare, Peace not Poverty, Funding for Wounded not for War.

A Political Victory That Wasn't

New York Times
Published: March 23, 2005

Washington — THE Congressional vote on Monday allowing Terri Schiavo's parents to take her case to a federal court underscores the success of Christian conservatives in defining the last election as having been decided by moral values. But political strategists may not want to bank too heavily on this assessment. Especially on life-and-death issues, support for moral values among Americans must contend with a deeply held pragmatism.

It is rare for Washington politicians to buck public opinion. An ABC News poll conducted on Sunday found a 63 percent to 28 percent majority supporting removal of Ms. Schiavo's feeding tube. The poll also found that the public, by a margin of 70 percent to 27 percent, opposes Congressional involvement in the case. Fully 67 percent of the poll's participants thought members of Congress were more focused on using the Schiavo case for political advantage than on the principles involved. Hot air and global warming

Saturday, March 26, 2005

BOSTON Every time the world calls for action on climate change, the United States emits more White House gases. The latest puff came from James Connaughton, the director of environmental quality, during last week's conference of 20 nations that met in London to try once again to make global warming a global priority.

At the conference, Gordon Brown, Britain's finance minister, said: "Climate change is a consequence of the buildup of greenhouse gases over the past 200 years in the atmosphere, and virtually all these emissions came from the rich countries. Indeed, we became rich through those emissions." Connaughton's response, in a BBC interview, was, "We're still working on the issue of causation."

Brown said, "We now have sufficient evidence that human-made climate change is the most far-reaching and almost certainly the most threatening of all the environmental challenges facing us." Connaughton's response as to "the extent to which humans are a factor," was, "They may be."

Brown said, "The industrialized countries must take responsibility first in reducing their emissions of greenhouse gases." Connaughton complained instead that the Kyoto target for the United States to reduce emissions "was so unreasonable ... that the only way we could have met it was to shift energy-intensive manufacturing to other countries."

Two days after dismissing coalition building, the United States went back to emissions building. The Senate, by a vote of 51-49, finally approved oil drilling in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. On efforts to stop global warming, Connaughton said, "We are trying now to find a portfolio in which three words are important: technology, technology and technology."

He meant drilling, drilling, drilling. Two years ago the National Academies of Science said that even with improved technologies, drilling on the north slope of Alaska has degraded the tundra, altered wildlife patterns and resulted in social problems that blunt claims of unqualified economic progress. Many scientists have said that we would be better off if we simply made our cars more fuel-efficient. But Congress and the White House, imprisoned by the oil and auto lobbies, refuse to use existing technologies to raise efficiency standards.

The Alaska vote paralleled another Senate action to deny an additional $1 billion for Amtrak, when studies show that well-developed rail systems can slash traffic and thus global-warming pollution. The United States, with 4 percent of the world's population, consumes a quarter of the world's oil and produces a quarter of its greenhouse gases. Yet when Brown said that the industrialized countries must take responsibility first, the United States became the most immature adolescent on Earth, doing precisely the opposite of what it needs to do.

Earlier in the month, the former chief scientific adviser to the British government, Lord May of Oxford, bluntly compared George W. Bush to a modern-day Nero. Last fall, Tony Blair said: "If what the science tells about climate change is correct, then unabated it will result in catastrophic consequences for our world. The science almost certainly is correct."

But Nero and his fiddlers won't hear any of that. Asked last month about the science of global warming, Connaughton said, "There are many different views."

The science ceased to have many views years ago. The very first sentence in the executive summary of the 2001 National Academies of Science report on climate change begins, "Greenhouse gases are accumulating in Earth's atmosphere as a result of human activities. ..." The report further said, "Global warming could well have serious adverse societal and ecological impacts by the end of this century." The science continues to choke under the White House effect.

Female GIs hard hit by war syndrome

On a mission just south of Baghdad over the winter, a young soldier jumped into the gunner's turret of an armored Humvee and took control of the menacing .50-caliber machine gun. She was 19 years old, weighed barely 100 pounds and had a blond ponytail hanging out from under her Kevlar helmet.

Cellular Phone Industry Just as Health-Harming as Big Tobacco?

In Dr. Mercola's article, he claims knowledge which he seems not able to apply. Whereas I agree that cell phones are harmful and that they should be forbidden at least to children, bad science doesn't help advance this point of view.

Specifically, at https://twoday.net/static/omega/files/cellular_phone_industry_just_as_health.htm

Dr. Mercola writes,

"I previously advised complete abstinence from cell phones, but now I recommend cautious use to reduce your risk of damage. If you ever took physics there is a good chance that you understand that radiation decreases exponentially as you move away from an object... "

Anyone who understood even first-year physics knows that the average field intensity (the power transfer) declines as the INVERSE SQUARE of the distance. The field amplitude decreases INVERSELY with distance.

The intensity decrease with distance can be less than the inverse square, for example in a forward lobe of a directional transmitter, but it cannot be greater, and it certainly cannot be inverse exponential.

Unlike Dr. Mercola, I advocate complete "abstinance" from digital RF in the 0.3 GHz - 300 GHz range. Which is to say, I think people should be completely protected from radiation of this kind. They should be exposed only with foreknowledge and positive agreement.

If Dr. Mercola's recommendations depend on his physics, they should be accepted only with great circumspection.
