They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Excellent links at bottom. Check those for my friend David Kelly. WAT

Dead Scientists DO Tell Tales

Microbiologist Dr. David Kelly, 59, was found dead after seemingly slashing his wrist in a wood near his home at Southmoor, Oxfordshire, days after being named as the Iraq dossier mole. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death continues. Dr. Kelly was Britain's leading expert on Baghdad's weapons programs. Dr. Steven Mostow, 63, was one of the country's leading infectious disease and bioterrorism experts and was associate dean at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He died in a plane crash near Centennial Airport. Dr. Ian Langford, 40, found dead at his blood-spattered and ransacked home. Langford was a Senior Fellow at the Univ. of East Anglia's Centre for Social and Economic Research on the Global Environment in the UK. He was discovered by police and ambulance men. The body was naked from the waist down and partly wedged under a chair. Cause of death: not determined by post-mortem examination. Dr. David Banks, 55, died in an aircraft crash in Queensland, AU. Much of Dr. Banks' work involved trying to keep diseases affecting cattle, pigs and fruit orchards out of Australia. His current work looked at foot and mouth disease and its potential to spread through the archipelago and Australia in addition to swine fever, Nipah virus and Japanese encephalitis.

Virus expert, Dr Robert E. Shope, and principal author of a highly publicized 1992 report by the National Academy of Sciences warning of the possible emergence of new and unsettling infectious illnesses died at age 74 of lung transplant complicatons. Dr. Shope also built the World Reference Center for Emerging Viruses and Arboviruses, a collection of some 5,000 samples. Harvard biochemistry professor Don C. Wiley has been declared missing after his abandoned rental car was discovered on a highway outside of Memphis, Tenn. The car, discovered on I-40—which runs between Memphis and Arkansas—had the keys in the ignition, the hazard lights off and a full tank of gas. Award-winning micro-biologist David Wynn-Williams, 55, killed by a vehicle while out jogging in England. In 2000 he was appointed leader of the Antarctic Astrobiology Project, which explores the effects of environmental stress at the limits of life on Earth. Wynn-Williams had assessed the capability of microbes to adapt to environmental extremes, including the bombardment of ultraviolet rays and global warming. Dr. Eugene F. Mallove, a Norwich Free Academy graduate, 56, died May 14, 2004 after being beaten to death during an alleged robbery. Mallove appeared on Coast To Coast AM as recently as Feb. 2004 speaking about alternative energy. Mallove was well respected for his knowledge of cold fusion. http://www.infinite-energy.com/

Jeong H. Im, retired protein chemist, age 72, was found in the burning trunk of his car with mutlitple stab wounds to the chest. West Nile researcher, Dr. Michael Perich, 46, died in a one-vehicle car accident. From 1986 to 1992, Perich worked at Fort Detrick in Frederick, Md., as the vector suppression program manager and research medical entomologist. Colleagues described him as "one of the few entomologists with the experience to go out and save lives today."

This compilation appears to have left out a group of 19 microbiologists who died in France some years back while attending a conference when the ski lift to their lodge failed. I don't recall the details.

Chronology of Dead Scientists

2001

#1-5: Five Unnamed Microbiologists. Died: October 4, 2001 Four of Five unnamed microbiologists on a plane that was brought down by a missile near the Black sea on the Russian border. Traveling from Israel to Russia; business not disclosed. Three scientists were experts in medical research or public health. The plane is believed by many in Israel to have had as many as four or five passengers who were microbiologists. Both Israel and Novosibirsk are homes for cutting-edge microbiological research. Novosibirsk is known as the scientific capital of Siberia. There are over 50 research facilities there, and 13 full universities for a population of only 2.5 million people.

Hi Bob and All,

Thanks for this info, Bob. I went looking for some info on that cable-car crash - I remember well what a brouhaha that caused on the 'net afterwards. It appears that these scientists were observatory workers, not microbiologists, but still, the mysteries of the Vatican Observatory coverups still abound. I have attached a few links for more info on both events - our dead microbiologists are definitely just as mysterious and unsettling...

French cable car crash kills 20

Everyone aboard the cable car was killed

July 1, 1999

Web posted at: 9:08 a.m. EDT (1308 GMT)

GRENOBLE, France -- A cable car plummeted to the ground in the French Alps early Thursday, killing all 20 people on board, local officials said. Earlier reports indicated 21 people died.

The cause of the crash, which occurred at 7:30 a.m. as the cable car was taking staff members of an observatory to the top of the 2,700-meter (8,900-foot) Pic de Bure mountain, was not immediately known.

The regional prefect, Remi Caron, said the car detached itself from the cable, but the cable did not snap, as had been previously reported.

Most of the victims were reported to be employees of the observatory, which is run by French, German and Spanish scientists. The cable car was used only for the observatory and no tourists were believed to be on board.

The cable car fell 80 meters (260 feet), in the resort town of Saint-Etienne-en-Devoluy, south of Grenoble.

"The cable car fell. We don't know why. These are working people and they are dead," the resort's mayor, Jean-Marie Bernard, told Radio France-Info.

The crash occurred at a resort in the French Alps

A spokesman in the prefect's office said 10 staff members of a public works company, five scientists from the IRAM astronomical institute and telephone company employees from Marseille were among the victims.

All the bodies were recovered Thursday morning, officials at the prefect's office confirmed.

An official investigation has begun into the cause of the accident, France's worst cable car disaster in more than 30 years.

The chief representative of the cable car union said the cable car was built in the 1980s and had recently passed a safety inspection. "It was in perfect working order," Charles Simiand said.

Simiand said the system consisted of one cable car with room for 20 passengers and another smaller one used to transport equipment.

Scientists from all over the world are known to visit the observatory, which is used virtually year round.

IRAM, the Institut de Radio-Astronomie Millimetrique, has set up six large antennas on top of the mountain to monitor stellar activity.

The crash occurred near the site of a 1976 accident on the same gondola lift, blamed on operator error, which killed 42 people.

Nine on trial over fatal French cable-car accident

Story from AFP
Copyright 2003 by Agence France-Presse (via ClariNet)

GAP, France, Nov 12 (AFP) - A manslaughter trial opened in a court in southeastern France Wednesday to examine a July 1999 cable-car accident in the Alps that left 20 people dead.

Nine people stand accused of involuntary homicide over the fatal accident in Pic de Bure, in the French Alps.

The judge in the Gap court said the accused, "through clumsiness, recklessness, negligence or dereliction of safety obligations, committed a clear error that exposed others to danger ... a danger you could not ignore."

The privately-owned cable car was carrying technicians and workers from France's National Centre for Scientific Research when it started slipping backwards before breaking free and plummeting 80 metres (260 feet).

A report by experts blamed the accident on the cabin's absence of brakes, which had been deactivated in 1984 and removed in 1986.

The report also criticised the long-running problems besetting the use of the cable car, including the frequent overloading of the cabin, and the lack of maintenance, control and surveillance, and notably safety systems.

VATICAN MYSTERY DEEPENS

I received this urgent message from Kent Steadman. From the looks of it, the man from down under thinks there may be a real catastrophe in our future, and NASA and the Vatican may be involved in the cover-up. If anyone can come forward with additional inmformation, please forward it to U.F.O.R.C. We will see that the right people will get the information. Any information that you will provide will be kept in strictest confidence, according to standard practices afforded eyewitnesses through the American Constitution. Be discreet. This information may be vital to the survival of our planet. UFORC thanks CAUS for this message from Kent Steadman. The message that I received goes as follows:

SLEUTHS NEEDED, VERIFICATION: WARNING AND A DISASTER ORBIT: Kent Steadman, Editor http://www.cyberspaceorbit.com/

A Vatican team and a French team were looking at something in June (most likely asteroids, see below). The Vatican team threatens to announce something earth shaking; meanwhile, the (above) French team is now DEAD!
