World-wide plan to restrict seed saving
Up in Canada. Hard to believe, let alone understand how they could even consider this. Can't happen here, Right ?

Folks,
I'm not e-mailing you much these days. But this one is crucial.
This is a really important, very urgent environmental issue - please help distribute the info to people, environmental groups & call/write/email the government.
Briefly, my understanding is:
The Canada Food Inspection Agency plans to introduce amendments that would prohibit farmers or other individuals from saving their own seeds in Canada. There is consultation on this, but it ends on Tuesday, March 8.
This appears to be part of a world-wide plan to restrict seed saving (leaving seeds to Monsanto etc)
I received two emails about this today, plus Charlie Smith, Editor of the Georgia Straight, sent me a press release from the NDP about this.
We don't have very much time & this could have a major impact on the environment, as biodiversity is really important & already very threatened.
If you can contact the government office & express your concern also contact your mp & Martin.
Send the info to everyone you can, including any environmental groups you are part of or know of.
Take care
