"What's going to happen if President Bush is reelected?"

That's a question I heard a lot last month. My answer was simple: we'll be shell-shocked for a day, and then NRDC will come out fighting for the environment like there's no tomorrow.

Well, the shock has set in. We've spent the better part of four years publicizing and challenging the president's assault on our forests, western wildlands and wildlife habitats. As a tax-deductible organization, NRDC could not oppose or support a candidate for president. But a lot of hopes were pinned on the ballot box as the fastest way to terminate the Bush administration's giveaways to logging, timber and mining companies.

Those hopes were dashed yesterday. The president prevailed, despite his horrific environmental record, which remains at odds with the views of the overwhelming majority of Americans.

We're stunned not so much by the outcome itself. After all, President Bush was a slight favorite to win this election. No, the look of distress on faces all around NRDC's offices today is true alarm at what lies ahead. As sweeping as this administration's attack on the environment has been, things are about to get worse. Perhaps much worse.

It was only the threat of the ballot box -- of answering to the American people -- that caused the Bush administration to backburner many of its most destructive plans. The White House has already signaled that the attacks of the past four years are but the leading edge of a much broader assault that will come in a second term.

Look for it to begin over the next few weeks with new attempts to auction off vast stretches of our Alaskan rainforest for clearcutting . . . open Greater Yellowstone and other beloved wildlands to oil and gas drilling . . . and hand over the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to giant oil companies.

So, yes, take one full day for feeling shell-shocked.

But prepare yourself. Tomorrow the battle will be joined. And we must be ready.

You can take heart in this: thanks to your support, NRDC and our BioGems campaigns have succeeded in stalling, blocking or sinking the worst of President Bush's attempts so far to exploit and destroy our last wild places.

And let me tell you, the second Bush administration will have to contend with an NRDC that now wields the most potent combination of grassroots activism, courtroom power and media outreach ever assembled by one public interest organization.

That impressive operation -- one million Members and BioGems Defenders, scores of attorneys, the best rapid response operation in the business -- will be focused like a laser on stopping the onslaught to come.

Failure is not an option. Everything we have fought for and achieved over the past 35 years is at stake. In the weeks ahead, I will be reporting to you in more detail on NRDC's action plan for defending our last wild places during President Bush's second term.

But I can share one key element of that plan right now: you. We're counting on you to stay the course with our BioGems campaigns. We need your outrage. We need your activism. If we have those, we are going to prevail.

Here we go again. Some of you will be sick of this topic and to those of you who are I ask that you get over the desire to be infotained and deal with the unpleasant reality: that the American voting system is totally bogus. What is contained in this post is of interest to anyone that believes that justice cannot be served without a full disclosure of the level of corruption in almost every corner of our political, governmental, and journalistic behemoth. Voting machines made by right wingers is not a 'fair and balanced' approach. It's a relative no-brainer but many will want to continue inhabiting a fantasy, o­ne in which everything is alright and o­ne hundred thousand dead Iraqis in the past two years just don't matter or, because we don't have to stare at them first hand, simply aren't real.

Impfungen

DER STAAT ALS HANDLANGER DER PHARMAINDUSTRIE

Bis 1970 war die Pockenimpfung in Deutschland per Gesetz geregelt. Alle anderen Impfungen waren nie der Pflicht unterworfen, was die wenigsten Mütter, früher wie heute wußten bzw. wissen. Durch die Mütterberatungen war flächendeckend dafür gesorgt, daß jeder Säugling der Ärzteschaft zugeführt wurde und auch die üblichen Impfungen erhielt. Die Behauptung jedoch, es gäbe in Deutschland keine Zwangsimpfungen mehr, ist eine Halbwahrheit. Nachdem, aufgrund eines Plans der Pharmaindustrie, die Mütterberatungsstellen, in denen die Säuglinge auch die öffentlich empfohlenen Impfungen erhielten, aufgegeben wurden, wurden die, von den Krankenkassen bezahlten, »Vorsorgeuntersuchungen« aller Kinder eingeführt. Somit wurde für die Pharmaindustrie der Markt verteilt und so kann bis heute durch Werbeveranstaltungen und ähnliches die Marktbeeinflussung besser kontrolliert werden. Von diesen Vorsorgeuntersuchungen machen alle Mütter Gebrauch, weil sie glauben, es geschähe zum Besten ihrer Kinder.

Was die Mütter nicht wissen: die Kinderärzte wurden von ihren Standesorganisationen (Ärztekammern) angewiesen, bei jedem Arztbesuch zuerst den Impfpaß zu verlangen und sofort zu impfen. Die Vorsorgeuntersuchungen sehen viele impfkritische Ärzte als Vorwand dafür, daß die Kinder den Ärzten zugeführt und auch geimpft werden. Denn es ist immer wieder peinlich, wenn bei einem örtlichen Ausbruch einer Kinderkrankheit womöglich nichtgeimpfte Kinder gesund bleiben und geimpfte erkranken. Das ließe sich vermeiden, wenn alle Kinder geimpft wären. Das Impfberatungsgespräch, das laut Pharmaindustrie vor jeder Impfung stattfinden sollte, bringt Ärzte in eine Zwangslage. Denn die gesetzliche Situation ist, im Interesse der Pharmaindustrie, findig geregelt: Impfschäden sind vom Staat zu verantworten! Schäden einer Kinderkrankheit, gegen die es eine öffentlich empfohlene Impfung gibt, hat der Arzt zu verantworten. Findet deshalb so gut wie nie ein Impfberatungsgespräch statt?

Dr. Marcel Ferru: »Über den massiven Druck, den die französischen Behörden ausüben, um der französischen Bevölkerung die gewinnträchtigen Impfstoffe aufzuzwingen, bemerkte Dr. Ferru: er habe sich dazu überreden lassen, seine erstgeborenen Kinder impfen zu lassen. Bei den später geborenen und seinen Enkelkindern hätte er sich geweigert. Nachdem ihn seine Kollegen aufgefordert hatten, sich für die Stelle des »Direktors der Ecole de Medicine« zu bewerben, suchte ihn der Gesundheitsminister auf und teilte ihm mit, dass das Ministerium gegen seine Kandidatur Einspruch erheben würde, falls er sie nicht zurückziehe. Der Grund: seine negative Einstellung zum Impfen!«

Professor Mercie, ehemaliger Direktor des Instituts Pasteur, wurde im Verlauf eines Prozesses am 1. Oktober 1981 gefragt, warum man dort fortfahre, Impfstoffe gegen Grippe herzustellen und zu verkaufen, obwohl anerkannt sei, daß der Impfstoff unwirksam ist: »Weil wir damit unsere Forschung finanzieren«.

Impfpropaganda von SmithKline Beecham an Schulen

In einer konzentrierten Aktion mit PR-Firmen und mit Unterstützung von verschiedenen Ministerien hat der Pharmakonzern SmithKline Beecham den Schulhof zum Marktplatz erklärt. Die Kampagne ruft Schüler auf, sich gegen Hepatitis B impfen zu lassen. Als Anreiz locken Gratis-Eintrittskarten für Konzerte mit Stars wie Guildo Hörn.

Nebenwirkungen

Die Impfungen sind wegen möglicher Nebenwirkungen umstritten. In Frankreich wurde das staatliche Schulimpfprogramm gegen Hepatitis B nach Protesten und juristischen Auseinandersetzungen gestoppt. Bei unseren französischen Nachbarn sind mehrere Fälle aktenkundig, bei denen ein Zusammenhang zwischen neurologischen Erkrankungen, wie Multipler Sklerose, und der Impfung gegen Hepatitis B vermutet wird. Auch in Deutschland regt sich zunehmend Protest von Eltern, Lehrern und Ärzten gegen die Impfkampagne an den Schulen.

Der Verein »BioSkop« hat sich in der neuen Ausgabe seiner Zeitschrift zur Beobachtung der Biowissenschaften mit den Hintergründen dieser fragwürdigen Impfkampagne auseinandergesetzt.

I usually get anywhere from 260 to 1100 emails a day from groups to which I member. There are too many references telling me (and others) that the election is again fraudulent. As only a private citizen with only one voice and no money, how am I to fight for the freedom of this country?

The Karl Rove directed George Bush, is not a person of integrity, nor is anyone of the Bush family. I cannot express to vividly the disgusting measures taken by [appearently] BOTH POLITICAL PARTIES in allowing something like this to happen AGAIN. The only resolve is that John Kerry and John Edwards take to the battle field and CORRECT THIS INJUSTICE AGAINST THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

At this time, ONLY John and John can "do something"...before it is too late and hundreds more Americans are killed [...]

Die Pille für den Mann

Regelmässig, ca. 5-15 mal pro Stunde (je nach Betreibernetz) sucht das Handy eine Basisstation in der Nähe und sendet dafür für einen zwar sehr kurzen Zeitraum lang aber mit voller Leistung. Dies kann jeder selbst mit Aktivboxen wie sie z.B. beim PC eingesetzt werden, hörbar machen.

Beim Tragen z.B. am Gürtel ist meist die Tastatur körperabgewandt, also Antenne am Körper (auch bei nicht sichtbaren Antennen!), wodurch über 80% der Sendeleistung im Bauchraum "endet" - die Pille für den Mann!!

Kurz und eindrücklich! Haben Sie es schon mal aus dieser Sicht gesehen?

Eigentlich weiss man , dass die digitale pulsierende Handy-Strahlung ein starkes elektromagnetisches Feld aufbaut, dass die sehr subtilen körpereigenen elektrischen Ströme beeinflusst, aber das Handy ist soooo coool, all die Vorteile...

Wen interessiert es schon, was in 10 Jahren sein wird, ob das Gehirn durch diese Mikrowellenstrahlung, die es ja ist, weich gekocht ist. Hauptsache, wir sind jederzeit für all die wichtigen SMS erreichbar und können bereits vom Heimweg aus unserem Schatz sagen, wie sehr wir sie/ihn lieben und dass wir in 20 Min schon zu Hause sind.

Aber alles hat bekanntlich seinen Preis und die Telekommunikationsunternehmen müssen ja auch existieren, das schafft wieder Arbeitsplätze und das bringt dem Staat mehr Steuern, die er brauchen wird um all die Heime zu bauen um all die, mit den weichgekochten Gehirnen unterzubringen.

Ich weiss, es tönt ein wenig böse, aber so abwegig ist es doch gar nicht - das mit der Pille für den Mann.

Der Krieg im Irak ist noch lange nicht vorbei: er hat gerade erst begonnen. Offenbar sind die Vereinigten Staaten mit den bisher eingesetzten Mitteln nicht in der Lage, den irakischen Widerstand zu besiegen.

Gleichzeitig ist es den USA unmöglich, ihre Rückschläge zu akzeptieren. Gerade durch die Arroganz, mit der sie diesen Krieg begonnen und geführt haben, haben sie im Irak ihr gesamtes Prestige aufs Spiel gesetzt - und damit zugleich ihre jahrzehntelangen Bestrebungen zur Beherrschung der Welt in Gefahr gebracht. Heute geht es für die Vereinigten Staaten sogar um noch mehr als in Vietnam. Die USA können sich nicht aus dem Irak zurückziehen, wenn es ihnen nicht gelingt, dort ein ihnen freundlich gesonnenes Regime zu hinterlassen. Andererseits haben sie heute in diesem Teil der Welt so wenig Freunde, dass eine derartige Regierung nie aus irgendwie gearteten demokratischen Wahlen hervorgehen kann.

Aus diesen Gründen besteht die ernsthafte Gefahr einer militärischen Eskalation im Irak nach den US-Wahlen vom 2. November - sofort, wenn Bush wiedergewählt wird, und vielleicht in allmählicherer Form, wenn Kerry gewinnt. Aber der Kandidat der Demokraten beabsichtigt ebenso wenig wie Bush einen Rückzug der USA aus dem Irak. So oder so wird die US-Regierung mit allen Mitteln versuchen, den irakischen Widerstand niederzuzwingen.

Schon jetzt sind Bemühungen im Gang, den Widerstand vor der Weltöffentlichkeit zu dämonisieren, indem man ihn mit Entführungen und Morden in Verbindung bringt, die von praktisch allen politischen Organisationen in der arabischen Welt scharf verurteilt werden.

Wir fordern, dass die USA sich der Realität im Irak stellen, ihre Truppen bedingungslos zurückziehen und die sich daraus ergebenden Schlüsse zum Verbot von Präventivkriegen ziehen. Es ist illusionär zu fordern, dass die Streitkräfte der USA im Irak bleiben, bis das Land befriedet oder stabilisiert ist, da die Präsenz gerade dieser Truppen selbst dort derart verhasst ist, dass sie das Haupthindernis für jede Art von Befriedung darstellt.

Bis dieser Rückzug bewerkstelligt ist, bekräftigen wir, dass wir uns mit allen uns zur Verfügung stehenden friedlichen und legalen Mitteln gegen jeden Versuch wenden werden, den irakischen Widerstand durch eine Militäreskalation niederzuschlagen, wie es während des Vietnam-Krieges mit dem vietnamesischen Widerstand versucht wurde. Wir rufen alle Regierungen auf, amerikanischen Soldaten, die den Dienst im Irak verweigern, Asyl zu gewähren. Wir werden unser Bestes tun zur Verbreitung sämtlicher verfügbaren Informationen, um der US-amerikanischen Kriegspropaganda entgegenzutreten, und wir werden versuchen, die Weltöffentlichkeit wie 2002 und 2003 für die Forderung zu mobilisieren, dass die Vereinigten Staaten ihre Bemühungen zur Durchsetzung einer militärischen "Lösung" im Irak aufgeben.

Seit über 3 1/2 Jahren wird die Mobilfunkthematik in Bruchköbel diskutiert, interfraktionelle Anträge und Beschlüsse aus den Jahren 2001 und 2002 wurden nur halbherzig von den Hauptamtlichen, Bürgermeister Roth und Erster Stadtrat Dziony, angegangen und schlichtweg ausgesessen. Eine kommunale Blamage und Bankrottbilanz der beiden Hauptakteure - vergleichsweise zu anderen Hauptamtlichen anderer Kommunen haben sie kläglich versagt.

In der Auseinandersetzung wurde die BI Initiative ständig von beiden wider besseren Wissen mit falschen Aussagen, Diffamierungen und z.T. mit arroganten Verleumdungen verbundenen Pressemitteilungen attackiert - BI und Bevölkerung wurden über Jahre hinweg getäuscht.

Hätten die Hauptverantwortlichen den politischen Auftrag ernst genommen und wären sie nur ansatzweise den Empfehlungen der BI gefolgt, könnten jetzt bereits in Bruchköbel an Ersatzstandorten Ersatzsendeanlagen für die Sportplatz-Sendeanlage in Betrieb sein.

Die dort ansässige Bevölkerung, ohnehin schon mit diversen Krankheiten und Krebsfällen der vergangenen Jahre schwer gebeutelt, wird nunmehr einer weiteren Zwangsbestrahlung von zwei Jahren ausgesetzt.

Die BI hat von Anfang an ein flächendeckendes Mobifunkgesamtkonzept für Gesamt-Bruchköbel, möglichst auf einer funktechnisch basierenden Ermittlung gefordert, um damit auch etwaige Funklöcher zu unterbinden und eine minimale Immissionsbelastung für die Bevölkerung zu erreichen.

Die Planungshoheit und Planungsverpflichtung einer Kommune wurden leider bisher nicht wahrgenommen, hoffen wir nun, daß die Parlamentarier dies richten werden, was die Hauptamtlichen unterlassen haben.

Die angeführten 3% gemessenen Strahlungswerte vom Grenzwert bedeuten keineswegs Entwarnung diese Werte werden bereits von der Wissenschaft mit schwerwiegenden Erkrankungen in Verbindung gebracht!

I live in central Florida. This is not exactly Bush or Kerry country -- kind of in between. When our activist group was out there, week after week, with signs protesting this war and this President, the reactions were startling. For every "thumbs down" or nasty look or head turned away, we received perhaps 10 times that number with horns honking and "go get um," "way to go." I knew, in my gut, that this President was toast in Florida. Election night. How is it possible that Betty Castor is closer to Mel Martinez for the Senate seat than Kerry is to Bush? How in the hell is Bush actually leading in Florida?

Technologists warn that electronic voting machines are flawed. They say we should "trust but verify." Others disagree. For example Florida's Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Theresa LePore counters technologists' analysis of electronic voting machine flaws with her claim: "It's just a bunch of lies." But Broward County is now unable to comply with Florida law because of the flaws technologists, Congressman Robert Wexler (D-FL), and many others have pointed out!

Many people are very troubled by the use of uncertified software in recent California elections. Many are concerned about the backgrounds of some programmers and managers who control the secret voting machine software.

Our primary concern is the threat that unverifiable electronic voting poses to elections in the United States. We have been concerned that without a paper record verified by the voter, there would be no way of knowing whether votes were recorded accurately and no way to do a meaningful recount if one is necessary.

Now we are seeing these predicted problems occurring in real elections. We are seeing election results that will remain forever in dispute because an audit was impossible. We are seeing that electronic miscounts of votes is no longer a theory - it's a fact.

What if the miscounts we know of are only the tip of an undetected iceberg of electronic miscounts? They might be. We have no way of knowing.
