The hearing on the Downing Street Minutes was shown on C-Span 2 Thursday night. It will be shown again Friday at 8PM EDT on C-SPAN 2. It is also on the C-SPAN website and can be seen at your convenience.

I was around during Watergate. The same obstructionist tactics where taking place at the beginning, before Congress, finally, got around to impeaching Nixon.

First, the Republican leadership in Congress said there was "no room" to hold the hearings. When they realized that they better not keep that up, they found room...in a very small room in the basement of the Capitol building!

On top of that hindrance, the leadership did an unprecedented move. Instead of the usual 3-5 bills to be presented for a vote, during a typical 2 hour period, THEY BROUGHT UP 11 OF THEM... PRECISELY at the time when the Conyers' hearing was taking place.

IF THESE MEMOS HAVE NO VALIDITY, WHY THESE TACTICS?

Fortunately, moderate Republicans are seeing the "iceberg" up ahead and are beginning to jump ship.

Folks, it is a " fate o' complete". Bush and his cronies will be held to account!

MUST pass this on - specially to our fellow Republicans.

We need to not just "preach to the choir." Each of us must get someone else to wake up and see the truth. Inspiring them to watch this hearing would sure give them an education. Recording it to lend to others would help. Writing to the editor or asking the media to cover the truth would be even better. We must act to get more to see the truth and demand that Congess investigate the Downing Street Minutes and act upon what they learn.
