July 10, 2005 marks the 20th anniversary of the bombing of the Rainbow Warrior. We've set up a website where you can read the story of how French secret agents placed two mines on the hull of the ship below the waterline, killing Greenpeace photographer Fernando Pereira. Their aim was to foil Greenpeace's campaign against nuclear weapons testing in the Pacific: they failed utterly. Their actions galvanized resistance to the testing programme in the Pacific, and the government was forced to pay damages which allowed us to build a second Rainbow Warrior -- which still sails to this day.
