Torture Outsourcing Prevention Act
In 1998 "CONGRESS IMPLEMENT[ED] UNITED NATIONS CONVENTION AGAINST TORTURE IN THE WAKE OF BOARD OF IMMIGRATION APPEALS DECISION." Two references given on web are: http://www.visalaw.com/98oct/38oct98.html and
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d105:HR04328:@@@L&summ2=m & Also, "a bill has been introduced in the House "Torture Outsourcing Prevention Act"; it is H. R. 952 and can be read at:
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c109:H.R.952:@@@L&summ2=m
Thanks to the person researching and posting about this for these references. Does anyone have a learned opinion on whether the 1998 bill is still in effect, because if it was our government in this country was violating it big time...
