Burst pipes, dead trees, power cuts and headaches: a mystery malaise in suburbia

PIPES bursting, toilets collapsing, random power cuts and headaches: paranormal phenomena, or is there a perfectly plausible scientific explanation? For five years, the tenants of a semi-detached house in Strovolos, Nicosia, were experiencing all the above weird happenings. The family living there must have changed their toilet seat and plumbing 40 times. The pipes would crack open, flooding the floor. Even a 100-year-old olive tree outside the house wilted and died.

Concerns Rise Over Safety Of Wireless Internet

Some European Towns And Schools Are Even Restricting WiFi Services Until Health Studies Are Done

Wireless internet continues its steady march of expansion across the world, offering convenience and easy accessibility to many. But it isn’t just porn, scams and unlawful file sharing that has some officials worried about the technology. Some public health advocates are concerned because the safety of wireless internet itself has not yet been thoroughly measured.

Exposure to the invisible cloud of energy called electrosmog is rising

By Richard Latker

Published: September 23, 2007

If you are an urban knowledge worker, keen to take advantage of the conveniences of information technology, your exposure to the invisible cloud of energy called the electromagnetic field - EMF, or electrosmog - may be considerably higher than that of your low-tech, old-media peers.

Child safety fears prompt Wi-Fi code for Welsh schools

By Geoffrey Lean, Environment Editor

Published: 23 September 2007

New safety rules are to be drawn up for Wi-Fi in schools for the first time in Britain, after a local authority officially voiced concern last week about possible effects on children's health. Carmarthenshire County Council is drawing up a code of practice for using the technology that it plans to enforce on local schools and hopes will be adopted nationally. It says that the code is "absolutely necessary" as the safety of children should be "paramount".

A Disease on Hold

http://groups.google.com/group/mobilfunk_newsletter/t/d09776244df82f37

--------

This is interesting. "Regular users" in Interphone studies is anyone who uses a cell phone once a week for at least 6 months. That could be 2 minutes a week! In their studies, they mix all the regular users up and unsurprisingly come up with a denial of increased tumour rates in reg users after 10 years use.

And look at the amount "heavy users" can get away with to be included as such in the Scandinavian-British Study!

"the number of hours the participants talked on the cellular is much higher in Hardell's studies. While in his study the use of more than 10 years is 2,000 hours, which is parallel to one hour a day for ten years, in the Scandinavian-British study, the people who were defined as "heavy users" talked on the cellular for total 113 hours during 10 years"

WiFi in Denmark

This morning my interview about WiFi in one of the main newspapers in Denmark started an avalanche. Since early morning I have been contacted by journalists from radio, television, other newspapers, which all wanted an interview. The Danish Health Council is having a crisis meeting at this moment. They said that they are now thinking about what they should say. A few months ago The Health Council and the Cancer Society said in a press release that WiFi is completely harmless, since the radiation is too weak for that. Thanks to you all, there is a discussion again in Denmark.

Tonight I will be on television with a a short interview about the dangers of WiFi

The Danish Health Council on WiFi

Last week the Health Council was caught sleeping and needed a week to wake up. After one week of thinking, Lis Keiding, head of the Epidemiological section in the Danish Health Council, said to the press, that the claims of the Bioinitiative report are not based on any scientific evidence. The group behind the report is known for it activities in public debate and so the report is only a biased contribution to a general debate. Therefore the Health Council will not change its standpoint that EMF radiation from cellphones, WiFi and masts does not pose a health risk.

Since 1993 the Expertpanel on EMF of the Danish Health Council, that includes Lis Keiding, has published reports on health risk of EMF. However, they systematically omitted certain subjects which they considered the risks to be negligible. Among one of the subjects omitted was damage to DNA in cells, because the panel said they had no expertise on that matter and no time to go through the material. At the time of the extensive public debate on 3G, in 2003, I was called to account by the Health Council for telling the public about the risk of RF. In my presentation I gave extensive scientific evidence for the health and biological effects of non-thermal EMF in all fields. After I finished it was very quiet for a moment, but then one of the members of the Expertpanel said “I think we have been sleeping in this panel during these years”. Nevertheless after the meeting the director of the Health Council said in his statement to the press”There are no health risks due to EMF from any source, and we have choosen to ignore the scientific evidence that shows that there are biological and health effects.” I wonder if the Expert panel has woken up now and acquired more expertise.

Impact of Bioinitiative

The simple thing, microwave dangers are well known since 1932
(published by Dr. Schliephacke), they just can't stop lying at people. Making cash is much more important then a healthy environment. So they will happily ignore the EEA (European Environment Agency) recommendations.

http://www.eea.europa.eu/highlights/radiation-risk-from-everyday-devices-assessed

But what would you expect by a society that still puts mercury inside peoples tooth, just because it is cheap? I do not expect anything anymore and just want to get out of this microwave oven, if just to survive the few years until the problems can't be hidden anymore.

Dear Sianette,

These are some pretty explosive comments! Does everyone know about them? What about your media, have they covered these things: "Among one of the subjects omitted was damage to DNA in cells, because the panel said they had no expertise on that matter and no time to go through the material." or "I think we have been sleeping in this panel during these years”" or "There are no health risks due to EMF from any source, and we have choosen to ignore the scientific evidence that shows that there are biological and health effects.", etc., etc., etc.

P.S. I do hope it is a misquotation?! Or did actually Lis Keiding, head of the Epidemiological section in the Danish Health Council, say to the press, "that the claims of the Bioinitiative report are not based on any scientific evidence"...? What does she then call a report, written by scientists, and based on more than 2,000 peer-review-based scientific publications??? I just wonder...?!?!

Best regards

Yours Olle

Minister to address health survey concerns

Health Minister Mary Harney is to meet with campaigners this week to address serious concerns regarding a disproportionate level of deaths in a Southside suburb.

A health survey conducted by residents in Clondalkin recently revealed a high number of deaths and illnesses in an area dominated by a mobile phone mast.

The survey carried out by Mast Action Clondalkin (MAC) claims a number of local people have either suffered from or are suffering from cancer and other illnesses.

Imelda Russell’s brother Brian (20) was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour of the brain last year. The Russells live within 30 metres of the mobile phone mast on Ronanstown Garda station.
