Optus ordered by Land & Envt Court to turn off mobile phone tower
What wonderful news today.
Firstly a win for Cheltenham residents last night (Hornsby Council rejects Telstra's DA for antennas on Cheltenham Recreation Club) and now another win for a community. This time actually in the Land & Environment Court, thanks to the persistence, determination and sheer guts of Concord resident, Gabbie Piccini.
So it can be done! An encouraging ruling for other communities still fighting:

Optus was ordered by the NSW Land & Environment Court on 5 November 2004 to cease the transmission of telecommunications signals from the facility installed at No. 97 Majors Bay Road, Concord until further order.
