Helen needs to make a better distinction between pre-emptive war and preventive war, but at the end of the day, her point is frightening, even if Kerry wins: I'm afraid that at least 35 or 40 percent of the U.S. public, if not a plurality or majority, explicitly supports the idea of preventive war. As far as I'm concerned, that gives the rest of the world ample reason to despise us.
