Unsere Idee ist, Sie zu bitten, von diesem Fragebogen nebst Anschreiben Ausdrucke bzw. Kopien in etwas größerer Anzahl zu machen. Diese sollten gezielt in Briefkästen von (Hoch-)Häusern geworfen werden, auf denen ein Handy-Sendemast installiert wurde bzw. die in der Nähe von solchen Sendemasten stehen.

Diese Aktion könnten Sie z. B. in Ihrer unmittelbaren oder auch weiteren Nachbarschaft starten. Eine weitere Möglichkeit ist, immer einen kleinen Stapel dieses Erhebungsbogens im Auto mitzuführen. Sollten Sie unterwegs auf ein "bestücktes" Hochhaus o. ä. aufmerksam werden und ein wenig Zeit erübrigen können, so wäre es ein Gedanke, daß Sie einen kurzen Zwischenstop einlegen, um dieses Haus durch persönlichen Einwurf mit diesen Erhebungsbögen zu bestücken.

Es ist hierbei unwesentlich, wo genau Sie sich befinden. Es ist für die Stichhaltigkeit unserer Erhebung sogar von großer Bedeutung, daß der Rücklauf dieser Auskünfte geographisch möglichst weit gestreut ist.

Wir sind uns darüber im klaren, daß dies ein wenig Arbeit, Umstände und (minimale) Kosten - also Unbequemlichkeit - für Sie nach sich ziehen könnte. Wir bezweifeln diese Behauptung erstens aufgrund der Tatsache, daß auch in „bestückten“ Häusern erhöhte Strahlungswerte festgestellt werden, und zweitens, weil die Natur ein Resonanzsystem ist und Ihr Wohnhaus durch die Schwingungen der Antenne direkt beeinträchtigt wird. Außerdem wäre dann in Ihrer Wohnung kein Empfang möglich.

Wir garantieren die streng vertrauliche Behandlung Ihrer Angaben. Eine evtl. Weitergabe der Beschreibung gesundheitlicher Schäden an die Verantwortlichen in Politik und Industrie erfolgt unter Wahrung Ihrer Anonymität. THE INAUGURATION SPEECH: CONSOLIDATING THE EMPIRE

** The U.S. drive towards empire will be strengthened, focusing on "freedom" and "liberty."

** Bush's speech signals that the rest of the world had better toe the U.S. line or face U.S. wrath.

** Future U.S. military attacks will be justified as necessary to protect American freedom and liberty, and explained as bringing freedom and liberty to oppressed people around the world.


Bush's second inaugural speech was designed to signal to the U.S. and to the rest of the world that the drive towards empire that shaped his first four years will be consolidated and strengthened in the second term, driven by a new focus on "the force of human freedom."

While Bush's rhetorical reference to the "untamed fire of freedom" will likely be the headline and centerpiece of press attention, probably the most important single line in his speech was his statement that "division among free nations is a goal of freedom's enemies." The statement is the second-term version of his infamous "you're either with us or with the terrorists" line, signalling that his global coalition of the coerced had better toe the line.

We can anticipate that references to "freedom" and "liberty" will be both the chosen rationale and the claimed result of military attacks, invasions and occupations in the next four years. Bush will continue to link "liberty" for Americans at home with "the success of liberty in other lands," justifying unilateral military aggression as legitimate because its aim is to insure "the success of liberty in our land."

The absolutism of the Bush administration's claim of righteousness has grown even stronger. Bush spoke in words of absolute certainty: "oppression is always wrong; freedom is eternally right." But who is oppressed, what is freedom, are subjects for the White House, not for global citizens. The Bush definition takes no account of the actual views of those living somewhere deemed subject to his "goal of ending tyranny in our world." The view of increasing number of Iraqis - that their violent, impoverished, repressive, socially corrosive world of U.S. military occupation is actually less secure, more dangerous and generally worse than their lives under Saddam Hussein - has no place in Bush's manichean world.

Bush's speech described a world of endless military intervention, against "outlaw regimes," and in support of "all who live in tyranny and hopelessness." The U.S. "will not excuse oppressors," he said, and addressing himself to those who live under oppression, "when you stand for liberty we stand with you." Bush invoked the model of the U.S. military as a heroic global Spiderman, with the 82nd Airborne webswinging across the globe wherever brave men and women "stand for liberty." The reality, of course, is far different. The next four years is as unlikely to see serious diplomatic or economic pressure (let alone military) on such repressive allies as Saudi Arabia, Israel, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Pakistan as were the last four. It does mean that military threats against governments deemed "outlaw regimes" (which according to Condoleezza Rice include Cuba, Myanmar, Iran, North Korea, Belarus and Zimbabwe) or those judged "oppressors" will have an easier, automatic justification: liberty and freedom.

The peace movement - both in the U.S. and globally - now faces the obligation of reclaiming the fight for freedom and liberty as our own. We must redefine those concepts away from Bush's xenophobic rhetoric aimed at justifying invasion and occupation, and instead return the goals of real freedom and real liberty - our goals - to their place at the heart of our struggle for peace and justice.

Artenschutz: Italien will seltene Vögel zum Abschuss freigeben (20.01.05)

Künftig soll die Jagdsaison verlängert, die Zahl der jagdbaren Vogelarten von 36 auf 41 erhöht und die Haltung von lebenden Lockvögeln vereinfacht werden. "Bei illegalen Abschüssen sollen nur noch Bußgelder und keine Haftstrafen mehr verhängt werden können und zum Training von Jagdhunden könnte dann selbst in Naturschutzgebieten ganzjährig gejagt werden", berichtet Vogelexperte-Martin Schneider-Jacoby von Euronatur.

Gentechnik in Argentinien: Gen-Soja soll das Ökosystem beeinträchtigen und mehr Pestizide erfordern (20.01.05)

Eine Studie des US-Agrarwissenschaftlers Charles Benbrook kommt zu dem Ergebnis, dass Gentechnik die Waldzerstörung fördert und die Möglichkeiten zur Selbstversorgung eines Landes mit Lebensmitteln beeinträchtigt. Benbrook untersuchte im Auftrag der Umweltschutzorganisation Greenpeace die Auswirkungen von genmanipuliertem Soja aus Argentinien. Argentinien habe seinen Soja-Anbau innerhalb von acht Jahren fast komplett auf Gen-Soja umgestellt. Dadurch verändere sich die argentinische Landwirtschaft und Landschaft massiv. Die Studie widerlegt offenbar auch die These, wonach genmanipuliertes Soja den Pestizideinsatz verringere.

Each of us has a critical role to play in countering the president's hype. We can familiarize ourselves with the flaws in his scheme, and expose each false sales pitch to friends, neighbors and the media.

President Bush's first term was defined by a radical notion -- that "preemptive war" was the path to security and peace. His administration hyped the case about WMD in Iraq to justify the invasion, while at the same time fatally miscalculating what it would take to transform that country into a functioning democracy. Now, the disastrous results of his deception and misjudgment are in plain view. More than 1,300 American troops are dead, Iraq is a recruiting ground for Al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden remains at large and there's no end in sight to the war against terrorism.

President Bush will begin his second term with an equally radical notion: that building economic stability lies in dismantling successful government programs like Social Security. To sell his scheme, just as he sold the war in Iraq, he'll drum up a false crisis and then pitch a brash cure loaded with unattainable but tantalizing benefits. He'll work to build support for a make-believe "ownership society."

Almost ironically, don't expect to hear much from him about the economic elements that would genuinely boost ownership among ordinary Americans: good jobs, fair wages and a reduction in wealth disparity. Why these omissions? Because neither his economic policies nor his risky Social Security plans benefit ordinary Americans. Just look at the facts:

> Personal incomes are frozen.

> Bush has the worst job-creation record since President Herbert Hoover.

> Gas, food and health insurance costs are soaring, sapping people's ability to save.

> The richest 1% of Americans own more of the nation's overall wealth than the bottom 90% combined -- and the president's next round of tax cuts would exacerbate this gap.

> Financial management firms would be the primary beneficiaries of the White House's Social Security privatization plan -- they stand to gain an estimated $940 billion in new fees if it is privatized.

If President Bush was truly interested in promoting ownership in America, he would stop pursuing economic policies that reward the few while the many lose ground. For starters, he would:

> Ensure that quality, affordable healthcare was available to all Americans.

> Drop his opposition to a living wage.

> Reverse his plans to cut back Pell grants that make college affordable to middle and lower income kids.

> Stop the outsourcing of American jobs.

> Abandon his plans to extend tax cuts for the wealthiest 1% -- those who make $1 million or more. (They already received $148 billion in cuts last year.)

> Ditch his plan to privatize Social Security which would cut guaranteed benefits and put the financial stability of millions of American families at risk.

We can't sit back and expect the mainstream media to expose the emptiness of Bush's promises to the American public. Instead we have to prod them and also become our own messengers. In your conversations with friends, neighbors, and colleagues, please debunk Bush's make-believe ownership society. And, if you have the time, please take a moment to share the truth with your local media.

Mr Bush's victory was viewed positively in only three of the 21 countries: the Philippines, Poland and India.

George Bush will be sworn in as president of the United States for a second term today in a lavish Washington ceremony, amid mounting international concern that his new administration will make the world a more dangerous place.

A poll of 21 countries published yesterday - reflecting opinion in Africa, Latin America, North America, Asia and Europe - showed that a clear majority have grave fears about the next four years.

Fifty-eight per cent of the 22,000 who took part in the poll, commissioned by the BBC World Service, said they expected Mr Bush to have a negative impact on peace and security, compared with only 26% who considered him a positive force.

The survey also indicated for the first time that dislike of Mr Bush is translating into a dislike of Americans in general.

Tony Blair, in an interview with the Guardian, expressed hope that Mr Bush's second term would prove to be more consensual than the first.

He said there had been an evolution in US policy, witnessed by him in successive conversations with Mr Bush.

"Evolution comes from experience," he said.

Mr Blair said that, as part of a learning process that began with the invasion of Afghanistan in October 2001, the US administration had reached the conclusion that "in the end, we can take security and military measures against terrorism but...the best prospect of peaceful coexistence lies in the spread of democracy and human rights".

Asked if Mr Bush had become a multilateralist, Mr Blair said he could not speak for the president but "it is significant, in my view, that he is coming to Europe as his first foreign visit".

Mr Bush is due in Europe at the end of next month.

The inauguration is taking place amid unprecedented security in Washington as luminaries from across the country converge on the capital.

Mr Bush spent the eve of the ceremony to mark the start of his second term shuttling between a series of events: from three candlelit dinners to thank his biggest campaign donors through to a "Celebration of Freedom" fireworks concert.

He described the elections in Afghanistan late last year and in Iraq planned for next week as "landmark events in the history of liberty".

Mr Bush also proclaimed his inauguration as "a sign of hope for freedom-loving people everywhere".

Aware of the damage that has been done to America's reputation over the war in Iraq and the Kyoto protocol on global warming, the new secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice, whose appointment was confirmed by the Senate yesterday, promised to try to repair relations with France, Germany and other countries bruised during the first term.

But yesterday's poll pointed to the deep suspicion of Mr Bush that exists across the world. It found that the bulk of people in 18 of the 21 countries surveyed had negative feelings towards the president.

Traditional US allies in western Europe were among those expressing the most negative feelings about the re-election.

In Britain, 64% of those polled said they disagreed with the proposition that the US would have a mainly positive impact on the world. The figures were even higher in France (75%) and Germany (77%).

Mr Bush's victory was viewed positively in only three of the 21 countries: the Philippines, Poland and India.

One of the organisers of the poll, Steven Kull, the director of the Programme on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland, said: "This is quite a grim picture for the US."

Another of the organisers, Doug Miller, president of the polling firm GlobeScan, said he had been monitoring trends since the start of 2003 and the figure for those who disagreed that the US was having a mainly positive impact on the world had risen from 46% then to 49% last year, and had now jumped to 58%.

"Our research makes very clear that the re-election of President Bush has further isolated America from the world," he said. "It also supports the view of some Americans that unless his administration changes its approach to world affairs in its second term, it will continue to erode America's good name, and hence its ability to effectively influence world affairs."

Asked how Mr Bush's re-election had effected their feelings towards Americans, 72% of those polled in Turkey said it made them feel worse about Americans, 65% in France, 59% in Brazil and 56% in Germany.

There was also overwhelming opposition to sending troops to Iraq, even among close allies such as Britain.

"Fully one in four British citizens say the Bush re-election has made them more opposed to sending troops to Iraq, resulting in a total of 63% now opposed," Mr Miller said.

The poll was conducted between November 15 and January 3 in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Mexico, Philippines, Poland, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey and the UK. A separate poll, for the Los Angeles Times, shows Americans are also polarised over the prospect of a second term, including over the conduct of the war in Iraq.

Mr Bush's job approval rating stands at 50%, with 47% disapproving. In recent times, only Richard Nixon at the start of his second term in 1972 recorded poll ratings as poor.

Sie schaden, sie schaden nicht, sie schaden... Die Diskussion über die Auswirkungen von Handystrahlen mutet mittlerweile schon wie Gänseblümchen-Zählen an. Britische Wissenschaftler sagen derzeit, "sie schaden doch". Vor allem Kinder sind ihrer Ansicht nach gefährdet.

Bereits im Jahr 2000 hatte die Independent Expert Group on Mobile Phones Bedenken über gesundheitliche Schäden durch häufiges Telefonieren mit dem Handy geäußert. Verschiedene Studien unterstützen dies mittlerweile. Dazu gehört eine im Dezember 2004 veröffentlichte Untersuchung, die davon ausgeht, dass die Strahlung die DNA schädigen kann. Eine schwedische Studie vom April 2004 zeigte einen Zusammenhang zwischen der Handynutzung und Nerventumoren im Bereich des Gehörs. Eine Holländische Untersuchung aus dem Oktober 2003 fand Einschränkungen in der Hirnfunktion.

Endgültige Schlüsse lassen die Studie zwar nicht zu - für das National Radiological Protection Board (NRPB) sind sie jedoch Anlass genug, eine Warnung für Eltern zu veröffentlichen. William Stewart von der Independent Expert Group on Mobile Phones erklärte, dass Eltern Kindern unter acht Jahren keine Handys geben sollten, da bei ihnen eine besondere Strahlungsempfindlichkeit bestehen könne. Die geringere Größe ihrer Köpfe ermöglicht, dass ein größerer Teil des Gehirns mit der Strahlung in Kontakt kommt. Zusätzlich ist das Nervensystem in diesem Alter noch nicht voll entwickelt. "Sollte es Risiken geben - wovon wir ausgehen - werden Kinder am meisten betroffen sein. Je kleiner die Kinder, desto größer wird auch die Gefährdung sein."

Viele im Ort wussten es, dass die Telekom 1999 im Turm der Untersteinacher Sankt-Oswald-Kirche eine Mobilfunkanlage installiert hatte. All die Jahre über gab es deshalb keine Beschwerden oder gar warnende Stimmen. Seit ein paar Wochen allerdings kursieren Gerüchte über deutlich erhöhte Krebsraten im direkten Umkreis. Und damit scheint, wenn es so auch niemand sagen mag, die Kirche in die Schusslinie geraten zu sein; sie hatte dem Bau der Anlage damals zugestimmt. Zur Gemeinderatssitzung am Dienstagabend, auf der die Angelegenheit in aller Ausführlichkeit behandelt wurde, war denn auch Pfarrer Raimund Pretzer gekommen. Von den – wie in den Tagen vorher kolportiert wurde – angeblich so zahlreich besorgten Bürgern indes war nicht ein einziger erschienen.

UNTERSTEINACH – Wie Bürgermeister Heinz Burges sagte, befindet sich die D 1-Mobilfunkanlage in einer Höhe von 25 Metern. Der Sicherheitsabstand, nach der die Strahlung ungefährlich wird, ist in den vorliegenden Unterlagen mit vertikal 4,15 Metern und horizontal elf Zentimetern angegeben. Das Gemeindeoberhaupt war ganz offensichtlich bemüht, den Ball flach zu halten; er bat um Sachlichkeit und vor allem darum, „keine Hysterie aufkommen zu lassen“. Aus Sicht der Bauordnung habe die Gemeinde weder Spielraum noch Eingriffsmöglichkeit. Sendeanlagen oder Masten unter zehn Metern Gesamthöhe seien genehmigungsfrei, dies gelte auch für eine Errichtung in bestehenden Gebäuden wie der Kirche. Nur bei einer Höhe über zehn Metern werde der Gemeinderat gehört.

Burges: „Das einzige, was Untersteinach tun kann, ist, Mobilfunkanlagen nicht auf gemeindlichen Gebäuden oder Grundstücken erstellen zu lassen. Bei Privatinitiativen hat der Rat aber keine Mitbestimmungsmöglichkeit. Die Gemeinde wird lediglich vom Landratsamt informiert, wie es vergangenes Jahr beim Bau der zweiten Anlage am Autohaus Geyer im Gewerbegebiet mit 15 Metern über Grund der Fall war. Auch hierbei sind der Sicherheitsabstand und Zulässigkeit überprüft. Die Grenzwerte sind mit vertikal 8,60 Metern und horizontal 18 Zentimetern angegeben und somit eingehalten.“ Von der Bahn bestehe zudem seit 1980 ein Betriebsfunknetz mit einer Höhe von 18,2 Metern.

Mobilfunkanlagen gebe es in Untersteinach insgesamt drei, denn neuerdings sei noch die Satellitenanlage auf der Tankstelle hinzu gekommen. Die Zahl der Anlagen im Kreis beziffert das Landratsamt laut Burges in Kulmbach mit 30, Stadtsteinach drei, Rugendorf eine, Presseck zwei, Marktleugast vier, Kupferberg vier, Wirsberg drei, Marktschorgast eine, Neuenmarkt zwei und Himmelkron eine.

Die Gesamtzahl beträgt im Kreisgebiet rund 300. Der Landkreis, so Bürgermeister Burges, habe die Betreiber wegen der Strahlungsschädlichkeit für die Gesundheit um eine Studie gebeten, diese liege aber noch nicht vor.
Mit Nachdruck sagte Burges: „Ich verstehe die Sorgen der Bürger. Die Gemeinde bekommt aber die Information bisher erst nach der Errichtung der Anlagen. Was wir tun können, haben wir getan. Detaillierter informieren kann sich jeder bei Frau Seuß im Landratsamt Kulmbach. Im Sommer soll auch ein Bürgerbegehren angestrengt werden, um eine sorgfältige Auswahl der Standorte zu erreichen.“ Der Bürgermeister bedauerte, dass keiner der Einwohner, die in den vergangenen Tagen auch ihm gegenüber die Sache aufs Tapet gebracht hatten, zur Ratssitzung gekommen war.

Alfred Vießmann ist nach eigenem Bekunden im Dezember von verschiedenen Bürgern in unmittelbarer Nähe der Kirche angesprochen worden, und zwar, weil gehäuft Krebsfälle aufgetreten seien. Wie Burges räumte er ein, dass es wissenschaftlich noch ungeklärt ist, ob überhaupt eine Schädigung von den Anlagen ausgeht.

Pfarrer Raimund Pretzer schilderte die Angelegenheit aus seiner Sicht: „Die Telekom suchte 1998/99 einen Standort zur Überbrückung des Sendeloches und hat dann die Anlage für das D 1-Netz in der Turmzwiebel installiert. In aller Sachlichkeit wurde es damals auch im Pfarrgemeinderat diskutiert, und es stand zweimal im Gemeindebrief. Wer es wissen wollte, hat es gewusst. Die Sendeleistung betrage maximal zehn Watt, mehr schaffe die Anlage nicht. Ein Handy strahle beispielsweise bis zu acht Watt ab.

Die Sendeleistung der Anlage auf dem Kirchturm reicht nach Worten des Pfarrers etwa bis Hummendorf und nicht ganz bis Kauerndorf. Eigentlich handle es sich nur um einen Empfänger, der alles an einen größeren Verstärker weitergibt. Raimund Pretzer weiter: „Die eigentliche Gesundheitsgefahr geht laut Deutscher Ärztekammer von den Handys direkt am Kopf aus. Am meisten strahlen die tragbaren schnurlosen Telefone daheim aus.“

Zur „Horrorliste von Krebsfällen“, die, offenbar durch Mund-zu-Mund-Propaganda, derzeit im Ort kursiert, sagte Pretzer: „Bei vielen von denen, die dabei genannt werden, habe ich keinerlei Auffälligkeiten feststellen können. Zudem waren die Krebsfälle schon vor 1999 als solche bekannt. Bei den ebenfalls in dieser ‚Liste‘ zitierten Hunden handelte es sich um Tumore, und die Tauben nisteten weiter ungestört auf dem Turm. Es gibt nicht mehr oder weniger Leute, die an Krebs sterben, und ich kann als Pfarrer keinen Zusammenhang der Mobilanlage mit den Krebsfällen feststellen.“ Eine Gesundheitsschädigung von Lebewesen sei bisher nicht nachweisbar. Und wer messen wolle, könne dies jederzeit tun.

„In Naila läuft wegen des Mobilfunks eine große Sache und es gilt, mehr darüber zu wissen“, meldete sich Peter Schuberth zu Wort. Man sei verantwortlich und sollte die Gefährlichkeit nicht nur der Sendeanlage auf der Kirche, sondern auch bei der Tankstelle überprüfen. Ein maximaler Wert von 1000 MikroWatt/m² ist viel zu hoch.

Das wäre der alte Salzburger Vorsorgewert. Seit Februar 2002 hat die Landessanitätsdirektion Salzburg auf Grund neuester Erkenntnisse den Wert auf 1 Mikrowatt/m² gesenkt. Dieser Wert ist eine Empfehlung, wird aber auch dort nicht von den Betreibern eingehalten.

Es gibt seriöse Studien, die sogar schon innerhalb weniger Minuten Bestrahlung mit 1000 MikroWatt/m² negative körperliche Reaktionen dokumentieren.

Durch Mobilfunk-Feldstudien zeigte die Uni Wien auf, dass es sehr weit unterhalb von 1000 Mikrowatt/m² zu Herz-Kreislauf-Problemen und Gedächtnisleistungsstörungen kam.

Aufgrund des aktuellen Wissensstandes dürfte die Bevölkerung maximal mit 1 MikroWatt/m² bestrahlt werden. Dieser Wert wurde bereits im Oktober 1999 anlässlich des Elektrosmog-Forums in Bonn durch medizinische Ärzteverbände, Wissenschaftler usw. von Umweltminister Trittin gefordert.

Dass bei dem Vorsorge-Wert von 1 MikroWatt/m² das Mobilfunk-Netz nicht mehr nach den Wünschen der Betreiber funktioniert, ist bekannt. Wenn jemand konsequent die Sache zu Ende denkt, dann heißt es nicht, die Strahlenbelastung ist so weit zu reduzieren, dass die Technologie noch nach den Wünschen der Betreiber funktioniert, sondern richtig ist: wir müssen die Strahlenbelastung so weit senken, dass wir einen vernünftigen Gesundheitsschutz haben. Dann können wir sehen, ob bei diesen Werten diese jetzige Technik noch nach den Wünschen der Betreiber funktioniert. Wenn nicht, dann muss eine ungefährliche Technik her. Erst die Gesundheit, dann das Geschäft.

Hierzu fällt mir noch ein guter Spruch ein, den ich vor einiger Zeit gelesen habe. Gesundheit ist nicht alles, aber ohne Gesundheit ist alles nichts.

Doch, wird teuer und so wie ich’s verstanden habe, geht die Diskussion gerade in die Richtung ob’s dem Bürger zugemutet werden kann.... oder der Staat sich’s Geld irgendwo besorgen muss...( vom Bürger), denn da benötigt ja jedes Streifenfahrzeug nen Leser für die Daten, jede Einwohnermeldeamt ne Fotoausrüstung...

Fällt eigentlich jemanden auf, dass die "Nebenkosten" des Lebens, insbesondere die politisch gemachten, dauernd deutlich steigen....?

Irgendwie gibt der Staat seine Mittel recht unbewusst aus, Haushalten kann man das nicht nennen. Sparen auch nicht, die tun so als hätten sie 100 Milliarden zu viel in der Kasse.

Da soll Pullach nach Berlin für über ne Milliarde umziehen, da wollen sie ein TETRA System bauen, keiner hat’s Geld und wer hat schon mal dran gedacht, dass im Katastrophenfall jedes Funkgerät zigfach wertvoller ist, als ein basisstationsabhängiges System....????

Da brauchen wir schicke Uniformen, und neue Namen für Behörden incl. Dem dafür nötigen Briefpapier, Beschilderung ...

Der Cash muss fließen, in Richtung Siemens und anderen... und wir müssen’s liefern... war das nicht schon immer so, früher die Zehntscheunen und der Graf, heute die MdB und Verwaltungsapparate.

Da diskutieren sie ne Woche drüber, dass das Erbgut höchsten persönlichen Schutz genießen muss, und diese Woche soll bei jeder ED Behandlung das Erbgut mit erfasst werden....

Irgendwie sind die alle (fast) mit kognitiven Störung behaftet.. oder?!

Hier stresst Vodafone übrigens die Staatsanwaltschaft und Polizei...wegen der Rettungsdeckenaktion um die Sendeantennen im Ort vor n’em knappen Jahr, nach den zahlreichen überraschenden Krebstoten im Dorf...Sachbeschädigung sagen sie, behaupten es gab Senderausfall und das zu einem Datum, an dem die Aktion schon durch den Wind zerstört war....

Dafür haben sie Geld, da wird jeder Schwachsinn verfolgt und Steuermittel verbraten.

05.12.2003 - Die Verbraucherzentrale Sachsen hat heute vor steigender Strahlenbelastung durch W-LAN und Bluetooth in privaten Haushalten gewarnt. Kommunikation ohne störenden "Kabelsalat" steht auf vielen Wunschzetteln ganz weit oben: Der PC soll mit dem Drucker kabellos kommunizieren. Über Access-Points zu Hause soll die drahtlose Vernetzung der PCs und Notebooks künftig allen Familienmitglieder gleichzeitig Internet-Zugang garantieren. Doch beide Techniken senden hochfrequente Strahlung aus, ähnlich wie das Handy oder das DECT-Telefon.

"Die Belastung mit elektromagnetischer Strahlung im Privathaushalt nimmt mit dem Kauf derartiger Technik zu und kann bis in den Bereich des von Verbraucherverbänden empfohlenen Vorsorgewertes für die Belastung mit hochfrequenter Strahlung von 0,01 Watt/Quadratmeter reichen", so ein Sprecher heute in Leipzig.

Die Verbraucherzentrale rät, nur strahlungsarme Funk-Geräte kaufen. Das gelte vor allem für Produkte, welche eine relevante "Elektrosmog"-Belastung verursachen könnten, wie Handys, W-LAN Access-Points und Funk-Head-Sets. Während der Benutzung sollte man zur Sicherheit einen Abstand von der Antenne des W-LAN Access-Points einhalten. Access-Points seien außerdem nicht in der Nähe von Kinder- oder Schlafzimmern einzurichten. Bluetooth- und W-LAN-Endgeräte sollte man zudem ausschalten, wenn sie nicht benutzt werden). (mk)

Wer Nachts durchs klingeln seines Handys im Schlaf gestört wird ist selbst schuld. Handymasten dagegen kann man nicht ausschalten- und auch sie können für Schlafstörungen sorgen. Diese Meldung ereichte uns per Fax aus Österreich.

Besonders interessant ist die Meldung gerade deshalb, weil das Interview mit keinem geringeren als Prof. Dr. Norbert Leitgeb gemacht wurde. Dieser gehört nun nicht gerade zu den kritischen Wissenschaftlern, er ist eher den Verharmlosern zuzuordnen. Es ist also schon eine kleine Sensation wenn Herr Prof. Dr. Leitgeb dieses Eingeständnis macht, war er doch in der Vergangenheit immer einer derjenigen, die die Ansicht vertraten, unter den jetzigen Grenzwerten könne nichts passieren und nun dieses. Wahrlich erstaunlich!

Omega sehr interessant ist auch, dass Prof. Dr. Norbert Leitgeb weiterhin Mitglied der kürzlich neu berufenen Strahlenschutzkommission (SSK) bleibt: http://www.bmu.de/de/800/js/presse/2005/pm010/ Hoffen wir, dass er die Ergebnisse seiner eigenen Studien mit in die Kommission einbringt und dass die SSK jetzt endlich ihrer Aufgabe nachkommt nämlich die Bevölkerung wirksam vor den Strahlen des gepulsten Mobilfunks schützt. Bisher ist sie dieser Aufgabe im Hinblick auf den gepulsten Mobilfunk in keinster Weise nachgekommen.

Pilotstudie der Grazer TU beweist: Handymasten können Schlafstörungen verursachen – nun wird österreichweit geforscht.
Wer nachts durchs Klingeln seines Handys im Schlaf gestört wird, ist selbst schuld. Handymasten dagegen kann man nicht ausschalten – und auch sie können für Schlafstörungen sorgen. Das ist zumindest das Ergebnis einer weltweit einzigartigen Pilotstudie der Grazer Technischen Universität, welche nun mit der Unterstützung des Lebens- und des Wirtschaftsministeriums österreichweit weitergeführt wird.

Durchgeführt wird die Studie über die Auswirkungen des sogenannten Elektrosmog bzw. dessen Einwirken auf unsere Gesundheit vom „Institut für Krankenhaustechnik“ der TU, dessen Leiter Norbert Leitgeb ist. Der Schlaf der Testpersonen – bei der Pilotstudie waren es neun Probanden, nun werden 20 Personen gesucht, wird dabei zwölf Nächte lang genauestens untersucht. Sechs Tage davon schlafen die Probanden hinter einem Schirm, der jegliche Elektrostrahlen abschirmt. Das Einzigartige daran – und das erregte mittlerweile auch die Aufmerksamkeit der Weltgesundheitsorganisation WHO: Die Testpersonen schlafen zu Hause und nicht wie bei ähnlichen bisherigen Untersuchungen im Schlaflabor.

Hilfe für geplagte Menschen

Sollte die österreichweite Studie dasselbe Ergebnis wie die Pilotstudie in Graz ergeben, könnte das weit reichende Folgen haben. Leitgeb: „Wir haben feststellen können, dass jene Personen, die abends besonders elektrosensitiv waren, in der Nacht auch schlecht geschlafen haben. Das könnte also der Nachweis sein, dass Handymasten etc. sich tatsächlich negativ auf das Wohlbefinden vieler Menschen auswirkt.“ Gelingt es, das nun zu bestätigen, so könnte weltweite Beachtung der Grazer Studie die Folge sein. Die WHO hat nämlich erst kürzlich festgestellt, dass bislang noch kein kausaler Zusammenhang zwischen dem Einwirken von Elektrosmog und Krankheiten nachgewiesen werden konnte.

Und die TU könnte möglicherweise noch gute Geschäfte als Begleiterscheinung der Studie machen. Es gibt zwar schon strahlenabweisende Schirme zu kaufen – doch keiner schirmt elektrische Strahlen so gut ab wie jener der TU.

Endlich wird Elektrosensibilität von einem "Industrieforscher" anerkannt. Die Menschen haben das Grundrecht, von der Wissenschaft ehrlich, fair und aufrichtig behandelt zu werden.

Bei uns in Frankreich beklagen sich unendlich viel Anrainer von Mobilfunkmasten an Schlafstörungen (und dann auch noch von vielem anderen mehr), ziemlich einige unter ihnen werden dann mit der Zeit depressiv. Bravo, dass wenigstens bei Euch genauere Untersuchungen über diese Frage vorgenommen werden, - wir warten mit großem Interesse auf die Ergebnisse. Marion Dupuis, Annecy, Frankreich

Please forward: There is misinformation about the inaug. parade route--you CAN take protest signs anywhere along inaugural route (see quotes from official statements from D.C. officials on this. below) but the group "Turn Your Back on Bush"and others have assumed that you can't because of the policy of shunting protesters to far away protest areas when Bush shows up around the country.

However, the inaugural parade route is different because it was decided in a court case years ago that people must be allowed to carry any signs they want--as long as they conform to safety rules--no bigger than 3' by 20' paper, cardboard, cloth, and no backing or sticks http://www.ustreas.gov/usss/press/GPA01-05.pdf.

Not taking protest signs on the parade route --as "Turn Your Back" suggests-- would weaken the protest presence because until Bush rides by--hours after they get there-- there will not be anything distinguishing these people as protesters--they will look like supporters until they turn their backs. And I hope when they finally do their action that they are noticed (since not everyone will be in front). They should know they can turn their backs and have protest signs.

State to delay logging project

GRANBY - State Conservation and Recreation Commissioner Katherine Abbott announced yesterday her department will delay a controversial logging project planned for 63 acres of the Mount Holyoke Range State Park in Granby until it completes additional consultation and planning in concert with the public.

"The forest management goals of the project are fundamentally sound and in time it should proceed," Abbott stated in a press release. "But an open public process on the means to reach these goals before proceeding is essential. Delaying the majority of the harvesting implementation is warranted to address issues and concerns that have arisen."

The 63-acre timber sale within the 4,000-acre state park in Amherst, will be delayed for one to two years by extending the present timber harvesting contract.

One of the opponents to the cutting plan, James Seltzer of the preservation group Save the Mountain, said he was "thrilled" to get the news.

"The public was really outraged the state was going in logging in an area that has so much hiking and biking. The state listened to our concerns," Seltzer said. "What more can we want from government then to listen to its citizens and include us in its planning process? This is how democracy should work."

State Chief Forester James DiMaio held several meetings in the area with people concerned about the project at which Seltzer and other opponents of the cutting were in attendance.

However, the state Department of Conservation and Recreation will proceed with road erosion control, parking area improvements, and establishment of a small timber harvesting demonstration area, according to the release. Forestry officials have said the cutting is needed for the health of the woods to provide more room for healthy trees and prevent disease and insect infestation.

"Our original plan was to leave numerous very large, high quality, white pine trees and begin regeneration of a future forest by removing the smaller, lower quality trees which were competing for nutrients, sunlight and moisture," Abbott said. "A number of trees have already died and the live crowns on many trees show signs of stress from competing trees."

The department plans to do the following at the site off Batchelor Street:

About two to four acres will be harvested according to the original plan as a demonstration area.

Harvested material on the site will be removed.

The road and road erosion control measures will be completed. Weather permitting, water bars will be installed along the road and skid trails, and both will be temporarily closed.

The parking area will be graded, improved, and lined with large rocks to prohibit unauthorized uses in the area.

The department will work with user groups and neighbors to leave additional trees along the trails and road system and will reassess the tree marking procedures adjacent to wetlands and riparian areas, which may reduce cutting in those areas.

Beim zweiten Treffen fand sich neben den rund 20 Interessierten auch ein Spitzel nebst angeblicher Gattin ein. Vermutlich hatte er vor, sich als Doppelagent anbieten zu wollen, denn er outete sich, dass er von der Deutschen Funkturm GmbH sei. Die spontane Frage, ob er denn Herr Schwarz sei, kam so überraschend, dass er dies zugab. Die Dreistigkeit der Mobilfunkbetreiber ist kaum zu überbieten – sie stellt sogar die Atomkraftbetreiber in den Schatten.

Herr Dipl. Ing. Uni Gerhard Schwarz, übrigens der Leiter für den Vertrieb, für die Region um Nürnberg zuständig, versuchte mit einer Märchenstunde die Mitglieder einzuwickeln. Da wurden doch tatsächlich Mobilfunk Antennen mit Fernsehern verglichen und gesundheitlich Betroffene als Simulanten hingestellt. Das Einwickeln gelang ihm nur soweit, dass das Treffen platzte und auf einen anderen Termin vertagt werden musste. Sein Pech: mit dem Aushorchen wurde leider nichts......

NY Times Op-ED

The November election may feel like ancient history, but it is still going on in North Carolina. The state has been unable to swear in an agriculture commissioner because a single malfunctioning electronic voting machine lost more ballots than the number of votes that separate the two candidates. The State Board of Elections, the candidates and the public are sharply divided on how to proceed. The mess North Carolina finds itself in is a cautionary tale about the perils of relying on electronic voting that does not produce a paper record.

MOBILE PHONE GIANTS PANIC AFTER DAMNING GOVERNMENT REPORT ON HEALTH RISKS.

Sir William Stewart, the Government’s Chief Scientific Advisor and head of the NRPB, recommends that children under 8 should be banned from using mobiles, and that 9 to 14 year olds should only use them in emergencies. He is concerned that since his original Report in 2000, scientific research from around the world shows evidence of potential risk from radiation from mobile phones and masts well below current ICNIRP guidelines. This must not be ignored. He recommends new planning laws to protect the health and safety of the public, and adds that masts should not be placed near schools.

Judging by the article in theTelegraph (Jan 16th) in response to Sir William Stewart’s devastating report on health risks from mobile phones and masts, the Telecom companies seem to have lost the plot!

Unable to argue the real science, the best they can do is call on the services of shrinks and the likes of sociologist Adam Burgess, to subtly imply that Sir William Stewart is psychologically ill equipped for his job. It is hard to ignore the contempt in Burgess' voice. Though he doesn't say so outright, the feeling one gets is that the British public are mentally unhinged if they take seriously, the precautionary approach that Sir William advises. “It’s all inconsequential,” the ubiquitous Dr Burgess states. But perhaps, as he does his many interviews, he is really killing two birds with one stone, spinning some outrageous propaganda for the telecom companies, whilst at the same time grabbing his 15 minutes of fame in order to hype his rather silly book. And why not – we all have to earn a living – though some of us would balk at his ‘throw caution to the wind’ attitude with regard to the health and safety of children.

In a phone-in with Dr Burgess, I said that advocating such an approach was appallingly irresponsible. All he could do was laugh. When it comes down to the real argument, people like this simply aren’t up to the job. However, why should we be pointing out their failings? The national organisation Mast Sanity is now gaining an unstoppable momentum, so it is very much to our advantage to have people like Dr Burgess batting for the other side.

Robert Matthews’ article in the Telegraph was a transparent and appalling piece of telecom propaganda, with not a shred of scientific evidence to prop up its arguments. To quote Roger Coghill (a ‘real’ scientist and expert in this field).

“I cannot believe that any responsible journalist would expose themselves to the ridicule of the scientific community with the kind of patent ignorance displayed in the Telegraph article. There has been persistent evidence of health hazard from studies way back to three or so decades ago. The Chinese nation (some 1.3 billion) takes those studies seriously by regulating far lower limits than ICNIRP. I presume this article was simply some industry plant, since it is far beneath any serious scientific attention. Roger Coghill MA (Cantab) C Biol MI Biol MA (Environ Mgt).”

Roger Coghill’s assumption that Matthews’ article was ‘simply some industry plant’, was no idle comment. It is surely too much of a coincidence that the Executive Director of the Daily Telegraph is non other than John Allwood, the former CEO of Orange. In the light of that knowledge, readers must judge for themselves the credibility and motives of the article.

The Industry’s desperate attempt to silence or discredit everyone who dares to suggest there are risks, reveals the enormity of the problem. If the technology isn’t safe, billions will have to be spent making it safe. No self respecting global giant would be prepared to sacrifice profits just to protect public safety. So, when a bomb shell like the Stewart Report hits the media headlines, damage limitation (the art of spin and lies) goes into overdrive.

However, it is truly shocking that anyone should advocate such dangerous nonsense as ignoring the precautionary principle with regard to children. In my opinion, it borders on the criminal to send out a message which could have such serious consequences. Of course we all hope that the worst case scenario doesn’t happen. But we can’t guarantee that it won’t, anymore than we can guarantee that it will. Right now the evidence of harm to health is mounting alarmingly. The least we can do for the sake of the next generation, is guard against the possibility – and those who say this is the action of fools and fanatics, have obviously not learned the lessons of history. Or perhaps it has nothing to do with ignorance – and everything to do with greed, self interest and an utter lack of morality.
