There has been much talk lately about the possibility of the draft being renewed to force young men (and women?) to enter the military and engage in combat in the Middle East. Most Libertarians and Liberal Democrats are adamantly against the draft, and with good reason. Freedom to dissent from our government's actions and policies is absolutely fundamental to the proper workings of a free Republic. Without this basic and essential freedom the idea that we are a free country is a farce...
