The War on Wi-Fi

http://fe35.news.re3.yahoo.com/blogs/null/25598

Back in February I sat in the Attlee room in Westminster and heard Dr George Carlo explain the scientific mechanism by which cells and DNA are damaged by radiation from mobile phones, masts and Wi-Fi. Dr Carlo isn't just some conspiracy theorist. He ran the US cell phone companies' own health research program during the 1990's and is at the cutting edge of research in this area. He backed up his talk with several studies and was able to site research that government scientists weren't even yet aware of.

I'm sorry I completely disagree with the tone of this article. The latest research shows that Wi-Fi and related radiation is dangerous. It is causing health problems. There are more and more cancer clusters being found around phone masts. And our children are being put at risk in some Machiavellian experiment for the sake of feeling all warm and fuzzy about being technologically advanced.

Please stop blindly supporting it.

Health fears over city's wireless network

DAN GRIMMER
24 April 2007 09:35

Fresh fears have emerged over the safety of the city's pioneering wireless network after it was revealed the country's health protection watchdog is investigating whether the technology can damage health.

Sir William Stewart, the chairman of the Health Protection Agency, is understood to want a probe into whether WiFi networks - which emit radiation - are affecting the health of schoolchildren.

Meanwhile, it is believed the Professional Association of Teachers will this week write to Education Secretary Alan Johnson to demand an official inquiry because of its own concerns.

Norwich is one of the first places in the country to have a free WiFi service, with more than 200 aerials attached to lampposts providing coverage so people can log on to the internet through laptops anywhere in the city.

Dr Ian Gibson, Norwich North MP, today said he was delighted Sir William, who has chaired two official inquiries into mobile phone safety, was looking into WiFi.

He said: “We need to look at whether or not the radiation from these systems is a threat to health. As with mobile phone masts, the more research that can be done into it the better.”

The £1.1m Norfolk OpenLink project was launched in the city in August last year. The two-year pilot project managed by Norfolk County Council and funded by the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) provides people with free broadband internet access. Each antenna creates a “hotspot” which receives the radio waves which power wireless networking.

By putting up so many antennae a mesh network has been created in Norwich, creating seamless coverage around the city centre.

It covers most of the city centre, as well as key sites such as the University of East Anglia, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and Norwich Science Park.

A spokesman for Norfolk County Council said: “OpenLink has been a tremendous success so far, benefiting many within the city - residents, visitors and businesses, including health agencies. The partnership would not have installed WiFi if there were any proven risk. The Department of Health has given no guidance that WiFi is unsafe.”

The networks are banned in Salzburg in Austria, while Stowe School, in Buckinghamshire, removed WiFi from part of its buildings after a teacher developed headaches and nausea.

Last November Dr Gibson, a long-time supporter of the Evening News Put Masts On Hold campaign and a cancer expert, said he wanted more research to be done on wireless technology after some schools elsewhere in the county ditched their wireless networks. Our Put Masts On Hold campaign has called for mobile phone masts not to be put up near schools or homes until it is proved they are safe, drawing on Sir William's own research into the health effects from the masts.

The latest mobile phone mast research:

New research has added weight to claims that mobile phone masts are a danger to health, meanwhile one mast is being pulled down after so many people claimed it was making them ill.

Parents of children at St Edward's Roman Catholic Primary School in Coleshill, Warwickshire said youngsters had suffered from insomnia, headaches, nosebleeds and numbness.

At the next-door Woodlands special school seven of the 30-strong staff have developed tumours while at least 31 people who live near the mast are suffering from cancer or have already died of it.

Many have pinned the blame on the 27m-high mast and O2, which owns the mast, have agreed to move it, although they insist this was not due to health grounds.

Meanwhile, Dr John Walker, a scientist who helped compile the cluster study in Warwickshire has also identified clusters around masts in Devon, Lincolnshire, Staffordshire and the West Midlands.

In 2002, as part of the Keep Masts on Hold campaign, the Evening News reported how families living in Furze Road, Thorpe St Andrew, said they thought the mobile phone mast installed near them was harming their health.

URGENT: Env Orgs stealing last refuges for telecom industry!

There is an organization called Care2Alerts, which is distributing messages to the environmental movement to get support of more mobile phone & WiFi use and wireless expansion into rural areas!

Below I've pasted their two messages on behalf of the telecom industry. We must not allow our own larger community of environment lovers to be influenced into making statements hazardous to us and to all life!

Please write to this org and tell them that pushing a hazard is not just, healthy or good for the environment. I paste their messages below. They want to "protect funding for wireless", as if the multinational, multibillion-dollar telecom industry is a charity! Makes me gag! :-@ They want enviros to help get wireless into the last rural areas! :-# Why not let the people living in those areas decide what is best for them! Tell them what wireless has done to you! (I've already written a very strong message.)

Thanks,

Susan Clarke

HERE ARE THEIR ACTION ALERT MESSAGES:

You need to be able to count on cell phone coverage during an emergency. Tell Congress and the FCC to protect funding for wireless coverage today!

Hi Susan,

Have you noticed how pay phones are in short supply these days? That's because cell phones and wireless communication in general have become standard. But what happens when you find yourself in an emergency and "out of service?"

Cell phone coverage is important in emergencies. Tell Congress not to limit coverage in rural areas. http://go.care2.com/e/R8Qs/h0HI/GC_d

Right now, Congress and the FCC are considering telecom policy changes that would jeopardize much-needed funding for wireless access. This would be especially bad for rural areas that need wireless access for economic growth and the safety of residents.

Reliable wireless access is essential for businesspeople that spend time away from the office and on the road, and it will increase the likelihood that new businesses will open up in rural communities. This funding would also eliminate "dead spots" in rural areas.

Tell Congress and the FCC that Americans everywhere should have the same choice of services. Sign the petition today!

HERE'S THEIR OTHER MESSAGE:

Hi Susan,

Hate long-term cell phone contracts and hefty cancellation fees? Well, hold on to your wallet, because now high-speed Internet companies are using them.

Most of us have, at best, two choices for high-speed Internet service: our cable and phone companies. Now these companies want to lock you in with hefty termination penalties to prevent you from switching to the other provider even if their service fails to deliver as promised.

Stop broadband companies from charging early termination fees!

Phone companies offer short-term promotional rates for DSL, but often require you to stick with the service for a year or more, even if the promotional price expires during that time. To get out, you might have to pay a fee of up to $200. And some cable companies offer a bundle of broadband, video and phone service, sometimes for a discount, then jack up the price for the remaining services if you cancel one of them during the contract term.

That's not real choice--and it's not real competition. Tell the Federal Communications Commission to put a stop to early termination fees in broadband and give consumers real choice!

Thank you for taking action today, Rebecca Young, Care2 and ThePetitionSite team

URGENT: Telecoms pose as charity to deceive enviros!

You're not going to believe this. Well, yes you will.

The telecom companies set up an organization posing as a nonprofit, in order to force-deploy their radiation into the last rural communities that have through a democratic process refused wireless!

Here's the organization that PAID Care2Alerts to get enviros to write to Congress demanding wireless everywhere:

"Wireless Across America is a coalition of wireless providers committed to expanding affordable, reliable wireless services for the 60 million people living in rural America... Wireless Across America’s coalition members include: Alltel Corporation Bluegrass Cellular, Inc. Corr Wireless Communications, LLC Dobson Cellular Systems, Inc. MTPCS, LLC (d/b/a Chinook Wireless) Rural Cellular Corporation (d/b/a Unicel) SunCom Wireless"

Please go onto their website as I did: http://www.wirelessacrossamerica.org/
Click on "Write Congress" and enter a five-digit US zip code.
(Many numbers between 01000 and 95000 will work. if you get one that doesn't, try again. Try 18914 - Chalfont, PA.)
Important: Delete Subject text, and put in your own. Delete the language in the "editable text" box and insert your own. Tell Congress how hazardous microwave systems are, and that communities (outside DC) have a common-law right to determine their own fate. Say that WirelessAcrossAmerica is just a front group for the telecom industry, posing as a social justice org. Then enter a name and a US address. Uncheck "Remember me". Hit "Send Message". Remember, they falsely posed as a charity, so don't worry about giving these deceivers a name/address other than your own for privacy.

If you wish, they invite you to share your story: mystory@wirelessacrossamerica.org

Although I see not much use in doing so, you may have more faith in winning over the human beings behind the corporate screen than I do.

Please let the group know what actions you take.

Thanks,

Susan Clarke

INDUSTRY FRONT GROUP PAID TO DISSOLVE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS!

Michael, Rebecca and Care2Alerts

You must be swimming in cash, taking money from that multibillion-dollar, multinational telecom industry, allowing that industry to pose as a nonprofit, charitable, social justice organization, and to DECEIVE your trusting readers into lobbying Congress in a disastrous, anti-democratic way.

Are you at all familiar with the 1996 Telecom Act? It's horrific, taking away local and state governments' authorities to protect environment! Bernie Sanders of Vermont said to the Industry, "You are not going to turn Vermont into a pin cushion." But that is what the brash, aggressive Industry did, with total disregard for local people.

There was one little section, 702, subpart iv, that between the lines allowed local communities to regulate wireless systems in their own communities based on criteria other than "environment".

This Industry-written, 800+ -page US Telecom Act had received almost NO review by Congress before it was shoved through without hearings by the Industry. That's why communities rushed to use that tiny little provision to defend themselves. The microwave radiation that had ruined the lives of many in the cities was not going to destroy lives in suburban or rural communities, the people determined!

Well, those corporate lawyers with the Industry were very aggressive, and the townspeople lost many battles to stop the Industry from putting transmitters next to bedroom windows. Many people lost their health, their pets, their homes, after trying to live in less radiation in their basements. Those who worked in a savvy way did win some capacities to regulate the Industry in their backyard. But it cost them years of their lives and often their last penny.

NOW you say, with your petition, that townspeople should have NO right to regulate Telecom transmitters in their own communities! You make your readers believe that THEY should control local people! You take away communities' right to keep wireless at arm's length for their health & environmental protection!

YOU are participating in overruling the last provision that existed for democratic, community self-defense! This would get Congress to override the many legal battles that have been WON through the democratic process!

YOU are advocating fascism! - total Corporate/State control of whether humans, animals and plants should be exposed at bioeffective levels to microwave radiation 24/7!

You have already seen my message about damages to health and the environment. Believe me, you have much much more to learn about that. But here, you pose as an enviro/social justice org, yet you take money from the Telecom companies (specifically those listed on the Wireless Across America site, as below) in order to deceive your members into advocating the bulldozing of the democratice processes that gave communities a small bit of freedom from having transmitters and their xenobiotic radiation absolutely in their faces.

You'd better rethink your business, because in this instance it's very bad business, very deceptive and specifically coercive in a way opposed to democracy, environment, social justice and health.

Whose behind your fascist campaign?

Wireless Across America’s coalition members include: Alltel Corporation Bluegrass Cellular, Inc. Corr Wireless Communications, LLC Dobson Cellular Systems, Inc. MTPCS, LLC (d/b/a Chinook Wireless) Rural Cellular Corporation (d/b/a Unicel) SunCom Wireless

Please let me know how you intend to handle this crisis.

Wifi: Teachers fear it could be affecting pupils' health

Wireless computer networks in schools may pose a significant health risk to children and staff, a teaching union warned today.

Many teachers fear the radiation emitted by wireless transmitters could be contributing to poor concentration and hyperactive behaviour among pupils.

One school - Stowe School, in Buckinghamshire - has already dismantled part of its wireless connection after a teacher fell ill, complaining of headaches and nausea.

The Professional Association of Teachers has written to Education Secretary Alan Johnson to demand an inquiry into the effects of the technology, which is being installed in classrooms across the country.

The union's concerns are echoed by Sir William Stewart, chairman of the Health Protection Agency, and a former chief scientific adviser to the Government, who has chaired two official inquiries into the hazards of mobile phones.

Sir William is said to be "very keen" that pupils are monitored for potential health problems.

Wireless, or wi-fi, systems, use a small transmitter to link laptop computers to the Internet without the use of cables.

Installed in up to 80 per cent of secondary schools and more than half of primary schools, they are also used in coffee shops, hotels and airport departure lounges, and have become a fixture in millions of homes.

The system has created a cloud of 'electronic smog' across

Britain, scientists say. There are fears that the networks could be doing untold damage to health.

Campaigners claim the level of microwaves emitted by a wireless transmitter is comparable to that from a mobile phone mast.

They point out little or no research has been carried out into the technology's side-effects.

Problems including headaches and lapses in concentration have already been reported by those who use wi-fi systems frequently.

Some scientists fear they could also cause cancer and premature senility. Children, whose brains and bodies are still developing, may be particularly vulnerable.

Alasdair Philips, of campaign group Powerwatch, believes the radiation from wireless networks is partly to blame for the rise of behavioural problems such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or ADHD.

He said: "I believe that rolling out wireless networks in schools should be a criminal offence without close monitoring of pupils' health.

"Being in a wi-fi classroom is similar to sitting in the main beam about 330 feet from a mobile phone mast.

"The problems that many teachers are reporting, such as poor concentration, and the four-fold increase in ADHD in the last ten years are exactly the problems we would predict."

Philip Parkin, general secretary of the Professional Association of Teachers, said he was concerned about the health of both pupils and staff.

"The proliferation of wireless networks could be having serious implications for the health of some staff and pupils," he said.

"I am not saying there is a danger, but I have enough concern to ask for it to be investigated."

Hi Sandi, I did of course send articles - though they may never read them. They blocked my address. Care2.com has - get this - 7,066,332 members! Please everyone, write to: actionalerts@ care2.com or phone/fax them: Phone: 650-622-0860 Fax: 650-622-0870 ...and tell them that:

1. RF radiation is designated a "hazard" under the IEEE/ANSI - FCC guidelines.

2. Second-hand exposure to wireless technologies' radiation produces (name whatever adverse effects you choose).

3. The rural areas are the last small refuge for vulnerable plants, animals and humans.

4. Those geographic areas that have successfully resisted wireless invasion through legislative and/or judiciary processes must be according the rights those efforts have in a democratice way won. These areas must not be bulldozed by lobbying efforts after the fact and without knowledge of the particular facts of each case. ...and whatever else you need to say.

Thank you!
Susan

Dear Michael, Rebecca and Care2Alerts,

I have been alerted to your ill-conceived campaign to destroy the last refuges for people with sensitivities to radiofrequency radiation. I wish to protest your actions in the strongest possible terms!

I left Tokyo, Japan, because I was ill all of the time. I now live in a rural area, and although there are radiation hazards here too, it is much better. Why do we need a uniformly radiated planet? Why are businessmen trying to continue working while on vacation given precedence over local health concerns?

I hear there are 7 million people on your list. Well there are millions of people worldwide with electrosensitivity. Our voices are suppressed by the economic power of the telecommunications industry. So maybe you haven't heard of us, except in terms of ridicule. But maybe one day you will be ill and wonder why and search and search for the reason. And you'll be lucky if you can find out in time to save yourself from becoming seriously ill.

Please have a heart!

Sincerely,
Patricia Ormsby

C2S: Industry Petition

Message to: Care2.com - What's going on? I've still received no response to my alert to you about your having distributed a petition from an industry front group that OPPOSES the environment and health protections that many of us worked very hard to establish. Your petition intends to override the long, hard, and expensive democratic processes we went through to win the public's rights to protect themselves and their environment!

You've misled thousands, arguably millions, of your members to sign an industry petition that would gut environment and health in this matter! Now you need to let signatories and others know that WirelessAcrossAmerica was the industry trade group that paid to have your members misled! And paid to have them in turn mislead Congress just before a critical hearing!

The May 10 hearing is now passed, and you still have not responded to my messages. I must therefore open this matter up to a larger group (cc'd) for your correction.

Thank you in advance for your response.

Susan Clarke

Action

You received my last message, a thread of e-mails about the industry group Wireless Across America, which apparently paid a large environmental and health group, Care2.com, to distribute a congressional petition for MORE wireless in RURAL areas!

This petition apparently went to Care2.com's over 7 million members, thousands of whom signed to force rural communities to accept wireless infrastructure!

If you go to my last message and reply to all, you can add your own comments about the harmfulness of radiation from mobile phone infrastructure, wifi and other pulse-modulated microwave systems.

Please provide them facts about humans, animals, bees, etc..

This environmental group - Care2.com, is located in the "Silicon Valley", Northern California, US, where the Telecom industry's deployed radiation is still largely unquestioned by environmentalists.

Thanks very much

Susan

Where's the EMF information? Where's the money?

I find this interview by "Microwave News" with then Congressman George Brown, Democrat from California (over a decade ago) to be very revealing re government's "business as usual...." :

http://www.ortho.lsuhsc.edu/Faculty/Marino/Powerline/Cong/Interview.html

I wonder where THAT $10 million for "informing the public" went?

This interview is also interesting and most likely relevant to the good health, reduced effects of aging, longevity, etc. being reported by CNN's Medical Correspondent Sanjay Gupta re Loma Linda, California.

Brown is/was from Loma Linda.

It is no small coincidence that the highly respected Dr. Ross Adey (now deceased) was a scientist at the V. A. Medical Center in Loma Linda, California. I am not implying that Dr. Adey did anything improper re studies or improper use of funds, but rather, the "knowledge and facts" he shared with others in his community are most likely contributing to the well-being of Loma Linda residents.

EMF/EMR-related toxicity promotes "aging."

Those who know the facts surrounding the rare immune deficiencies in my two grandsons know their problems were due to "aging." They were diagnosed when toddlers.

"Aging" is related to Alzheimers' Disease. My husband, Bud is now said not to have Alzheimers afterall. He does, however, remain seriously affected. I moved his electric clock radio off nightstand and he improved in three areas of his Executive Function!!! To expect "improvement" in a person diagnosed with Alzheimers, is not in accordance with current medical protocol/thinking. WHY aren't persons involved in researching "aging" -- AARP, the Alzheimers' Association, etc. providing "prudent avoidance suggestions" to the public?

There are other energy-related practices in the Loma Linda area such as Feng Shui and some credit the high numbers of 7th Day Adventists as perhaps helping to promote a healthy lifestyle.

I think if a survey could be taken of the residents, we might find that many of Loma Linda's residents know chronic, prolonged EMF/EMR are potentially harmful and that it may be "common practice" to not have electrical and telephone items close to beds.

I haven't had a chance to search for information re cell towers and high voltage lines in Loma Linda but will do so soon.

Best wishes and take care - Joanne

P.S. If anyone can get a message through to CNN or Dr. Sanjay Gupta (so far my attempts have failed), he may be interested to learn that EMF's are most likely playing a major role in regard to the "obesity epidemic" and that just driving around the U.S. in an "ultra-plush Airstream motorhome" asking for persons to pledge a few minutes here promising to exercise, while a helpful suggestion, will do very little to deal with the out-of-control health situation.

Anti-mast campaigners showcase Coleshill cancers

Sufferers blame phone mast

By Tony Dennis: Montag 23 April 2007, 10:31

THOSE WHO ardently believe that mobile phone masts are linked to a high incidence of cancer appear to have found a showcase in Coleshill, Warwickshire.

According to a report in The Sunday Times, Margaret Hines-Randle and 30 of her neighbours in Coleshill are either suffering with cancer or have already died from it.

Residents collated data on their illnesses and sent it to Dr John Walker, a member of the Electromagnetic Radiation Research Trust who studies instances of cancer around mobile phone masts.

He told the paper, "The masts typically throw out microwaves in three directions, and where the beams hit the ground is where you will usually find the cluster of cancers or disease."

In a single street - Castle Drive, and part of adjacent roads - 31 cases of cancer were found (including Hines-Randle). That's equivalent to one in every second person living in the immediate area.

"Coleshill has the largest single cluster I have yet seen," claimed Dr Walker. "This may be explained by the fact that Castle Drive is sited at the point where the beams from two masts converge, one of them at [St Edward’s] school and another on the other side of the town."

Having enlisted the help of their local MP, the residents have succeeded in getting mobile network operator, O2, to agree to tear down the mast sited next to the school.

It is 15 years old and was probably due for replacement anyway. The fact that phone masts don't radiate directly underneath their physical location appears to have been overlooked.

The British government has adopted guidelines issued by the International Commission on Non Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) which state that base stations should not emit more than 10 watts per square metre - depending on the frequency used.

While most masts give out only a minute fraction of this amount, campaigners still feel the level is too high. Some experts have said current levels should be reduced more than a thousandfold.

Plus they point to cities such as Salzburg in Austria where levels have been set way below those imposed in the UK.

Even if there is no proven link between phone masts and cancer, the mobile phone industry has to wake up to the fact that most people believe there is one. µ

Re: Anti-mast campaigners showcase Coleshill cancers

I am still concerned about the claim in this report about the wrong fact, near the end of the article, that - 'The fact that phone masts don't radiate directly underneath their physical location appears to have been overlooked.'

I know for a fact, using my ACOM, that at Budleigh Salterton and at Beare Hamlet near Killerton, Devon, the phone masts there do radiate directly underneath their physical location.

Jane

I was worried about that too. There are known to be side lobes - beams of radiation that radiate in directions other than the main beam. I wondered if it was just more blatant lies form the industry trying to obscure any facts it can. I couldn't tell from the context whether it was an industry claim though. I agree - It can definitely be shown that masts do indeed radiate directly below them.

Once again your "science correspondent" has proven how little he actually knows about the subject of mobile phone technology. His contribution to this story was nothing more than a PR exercise for the mobile industry - but we have come to expect nothing more.

If any of your team care to look, there is ample scientific evidence of a link between the pulsed microwave technology and ill health - including many studies of wildlife being adversely affected by mast emissions - storks worrying themselves to death, no doubt!

The flippant and cynical attitude of your "science correspondent" was also completely out of step with the view expressed by the Coleshill residents. I would imagine they are now feeling very let down by the BBC news team - and rightly so.

Cllr Sylvia Wright
S Staffordshire

This exchange of e-mails following yesterday's Midlands Today report on the removal of the Coleshill mast. The "Science Correspondent" was more like a MOA spokesman - stating that PCT's would be the first people to notice a cancer cluster and would act accordingly (deny it??).

Sylvia

Many thanks for your email and I am sorry you are unhappy with the contribution by our Science and Environment Correspondent. We know very well that any item about masts will always be emotive but we do have a duty to report all angles to these very complex stories.

In David's defence, he does have a PhD in physics which means he is in the useful position of understanding both the science of mobile phones and their masts and also understanding statistics and things such as cancer clusters.

It's part of his job to stay across all the latest research into mobile phones/phone masts and health. All he can do is report those scientifically-meaningful studies and experiments and what they say. He does not apologise for the mobile phone industry - he simply reports the facts as they currently stand.

When it comes to cancer clusters, as he said, they can be very hard to get to grips with. Statistics is a dull and complex science. From the information he had about this survey, it was clear it simply wasn't focused enough on the right information to be meaningful. More than that, as he said, PCTs record the incidence and location of cancers and can plot that information. They have experts who know what to look for. No-one has said there is a cluster in this area.

Part of the role of a BBC correspondent is to explain a situation clearly and succinctly based on the current evidence - and use his or her expertise to form a considered opinion. As I say, David is in a very strong position in that he is able review and interpret huge amounts of data and research and present that in an understandable way.

I hope that answers your points but please feel free to contact me again if you wish to discuss this further.

Best wishes,
Chas Watkin, Editor, BBC Midlands Today.

Dear Mr Watkin

Thank you for your e-mail in response to my comments. I appreciate that you have to present a balanced view of any subject - and do not doubt that your Science Correspondent has many qualifications. However, I do wonder that - with his extensive knowledge and exhaustive reviews of the relevant studies - no mention has been made at all by the BBC of the T Mobile "buried" ECOLOG report, which has been the subject of many recent newspaper articles. This surely should have warranted some place in your reporting of the Coleshill issue - coming just days after the revelations.

This is, as you say, a very emotive subject - and I would have expected a more serious approach to it - the final comments that 02 would be getting "two bright shiny new masts" (forgive me if that is the wrong wording) were a little unnecessary. There are hundreds of communities throughout the country in a similar situation to Coleshill and I believe your news presenters and journalists owe those viewers a little respect.

There are several studies which have concluded that there are health risks from the pulsed microwave mast emissions (see attached sheet) - perhaps you would like to pass this on to your Science Correspondent for future reference. There have also been thousands of studies linking the pulsed frequencies used in mobile phone technology to adverse effects in laboratory specimens - but little funding has been invested in epidemiological studies of communities living near phone masts. I suspect it is also the case that there is little desire to do so as these studies rely on Government and Industry funding, and since confirmation of adverse effects from this technology will be a bombshell of enormous proportions.

Many thanks for coming back to me. I will indeed pass that on to David Gregory. It is no doubt a story we will be revisiting many times in future.

Disguised cell towers

I know we have seen other pictures of "disguised cell towers" but don't recall if this particular site was circulated:
Disguised cell towers: http://www.waymarking.com/cat/details.aspx?f=1&guid=5df351c0-98ea-4b8c-9a84-844f67beb552

Looks like meters are the only way to know what is really going on in some instances.

Some high voltage powerline poles are actually covered with fake wood veneer in our city. I can't believe the public can be placated by such foolishness but there are very few persons that I know of in our area who seem to be concerned. All sorts of antennae are mounted on every water tower in our city also.
Take care - Joanne

It is "unconscionable" that the Alzheimers' Organization is doing absolutely nothing in regard to prevention

Alzheimers' Organization: You may be interested in learning that I have not received any response from Dr. Marilyn Albert (Alzheimers' Advisory Board Task Force Member), to my email (November 2006) which can be accessed by clicking on: http://freepage.twoday.net/stories/3038870/

It is "unconscionable" that the Alzheimers' Organization is doing absolutely nothing in regard to prevention when in 1993, the American Cancer Society provided copies of a "USA Today article" recommending persons move electrical appliances away from close proximity to beds!!!

Your website featuring "a champion" and the word "voice" clearly asks for "donations," however, there is no place on the site for "a real voice....!!!" [Access: http://www.actionalz.org/home ] There also isn't an email address for a person in-charge of the organization. In my opinion, this is "a tacky way" of "business-as-usual" and is an avoidance strategy for the purpose of not having to deal with "real issues!!!"

I find it "very insulting" for the webpage offering "a Voice" to direct one to the "Message Forum/Chat Groups." There is no way interaction on such a board will help "spread-the-word" to large numbers of the general public. That is an "interactive forum" (for caregivers and victims) rather than "an informative site." I believe this is another way of having any "sensitive information" fall to the bottom-of-the-stack as quickly as possible!!!

The information I provided to Dr. Albert is vitally important in regard to "prevention of Alzheimers." Everyone knows that "drugs" are "the real priority (in addition to donations)!!!" The "drugs" aren't providing "a cure," and even if they did, doesn't the public deserve to know the truth?

Shouldn't "the innocent" be informed so they can make their own decisions regarding how much EMF/EMR (electromagnetic fields/electromagnetic radiation) "toxic pollution" they wish to accumulate in the cells of their bodies every night due to sleeping close to electric clocks, fans, monitors, touchlamps, lamps with dimmer switches, noise machines, apnea machines, heating pads, electric blankets, security systems, transformer boxes for cordless phones, electric and gas meters, improper wiring, currents on waterpipes and more? See the following press release re "cumulative damage" from close appliance exposures: http://www.komotv.com/news/archive/4117886.html
The press release out of Washington University, while very important, doesn't come close to the sort of warnings required re nighttime electrical items and some telephone equipment.

The issue of harm from holding cell phones against vulnerable skulls is looming larger all of the time.

How will we ever begin to sort out how much EMF/EMR-related toxicity may be due to cellular antennae, radio towers, high voltage powerlines, etc. before it is too late to establish some sort of acceptable limits (Dr. Neil Cherry from Australia wrote before his death that "the safe limit is zero!!!" It is already "too late" for millions of "electrically poisoned persons" around-the-world!!!

EMF's have been designated as Class 2B carcinogens (possible cancer promoter) and are assigned to category of "toxin" on the following government website: http://library.niehs.nih.gov/consumer/toxsub.htm

For the sake of brevity, I am not providing references to studies re occupational EMF exposures that link Alzheimers to sewing machine workers and other vocations.

I am "one voice" who is very willing to speak before Congress about the devastating rise in Alzheimers and other health problems -- also to make an urgent plea for release of "prudent avoidance information!!! Please "pass-the-word" to Senator Hillary Clinton, another member of the new Alzheimers' Advisory Board Task Force and let her know "the people desperately need help!!! I would greatly appreciate Senator Clinton's direct email address also. Take care - Joanne

Your report at Omega news

Dear Mrs. Mueller,

I am deeply impressed by your report I found in Omega news, about you and your family and your guinea pigs. Now I can better understand your words "Take care".

I am the German psychotherapist who was engaged in an Open Letter to the German Chancellor resp. the sale of Wimax licences last December, together with Dr. Waldmann-Selsam. Since I am interested in EMF I am aware of the health problems connected with them.

I totally agree with you. When I set myself in a consulting room in a lovely landscape I was surprised about the life of the farmer families. Deaths by leukaemia in the old, stroke at early age, a high grade of violence in men, and /or alcoholism, sexual hyperexitation, depression in women.. One nurse lost her son at the age of 7 after a long fight against leukaemia.. One day I began to understand that all these nice old farm houses usually do have the entry of their household current on the roof mostly above their sleeping rooms (because there are many aerial current lines), and in the case of the nurse a powerline mast was in their garden.

Something to be glad about: the German Federal Agency of Radiation Protection changed its website on Low Frequencies. It recommends to be careful with respect to long term use. That means: the 26. BImschVO (responsible of the immission limits in Germany) can not be maintained any longer!

If you think these remarks are worth notifying you may put them to your distributor.

Best regards

Christine Aschermann
