The Danish Cancer registry, again

The Danish Health Council has now announced that the country's cancer registry has not been updated since 2001. This was the year that J. Chr. Gøttrik became director for the Health Council, appointed by A. Rolighed, who is the director of the Society for Prevention af Cancer and was minister of health at that time. So Rolighed, Gøttrik, Chr. Johansen were all employed by the same Society. After Gøttrik became the director of the Health Council, he appointed Chr. Johansen as a consultant for the council, so he held two positions. Gøttrik was the one who officially chose to disregard all the the research that established harmful effects of RF. The official reason was that the public should not be worried, but he meant that the mobile phone industry who be very cross with the Health Council, if they came out with the message that RF was dangerous. Now we can understand, why the Cancer registry has not been updated. This was done on purpose to serve the interest of certain groups. Gøttrik was fired earlier this year as the director, but I do not know if he still holds his positions in WHO.

INCLINE VILLAGE and Microwave Antennas

An example, up in the Sierras, Incline Village had a sudden high rate of chronic fatigue syndrome. And then they discovered that it was related to the new microwave antennas that were put up there. And in that same region, species of frogs just disappeared. They stopped reproducing and vanished. So, these are things that need to be looked at in the course of -- we need to take a closer look.

Repacholi-WHO-Krise

Activists question Wi-Fi safety

By Nathan Dinsdale

Published: May 16, 2007

Woody Guthrie used his guitar to kill fascists. Arthur Firstenberg used his to show how the fascists are killing you. The local author and activist kicked off his May 14 lecture on the health effects of wireless Internet, “Wi-Fi,” at the Santa Fe Women’s Club with a song about wireless technology that features the chorus, “We’re getting fried, we’re getting microwaved.”

Arthur Firstenberg is trying to spread the word about the dangers of Wi-Fi. (Photo by Nathan Dinsdale)

Approximately 75 people soaked up the good vibrations as Firstenberg finished his tune and promptly informed them how radiation emitted by Wi-Fi and cell phones can cause everything from nausea and memory loss to cancer and Parkinson’s disease.

“How many people here own a cell phone?” Firstenberg asked the crowd. “When you go home tonight, throw away your cell phones. And those of you with cell phones, please turn them off so you’re not irradiating everyone else in the room.”

Firstenberg has been radiating opposition to Wi-Fi in Santa Fe ever since the city began contemplating installing wireless Internet in city facilities more than a year ago. That effort was stalled after opponents voiced their concerns.

Firstenberg—who wrote the 1996 book Microwaving Our Planet: The Environmental Impact of the Wireless Revolution [ http://omega.twoday.net/stories/2955324/ ]—is one of two citizen representatives offering input on the wireless plan to a city steering committee from the city’s Information Technology and Telecommunications Department (ITT).

Richard Lowenberg—the other citizen representative for the ITT committee—was loudly denounced by the crowd when he stood up at the end of the two-hour lecture to express concern with Firstenberg’s scientific documentation.

“I agree with Arthur that we ought to be concerned about the potential health impacts, but I feel that he’s relying too much on inaccurate information,” Lowenberg tells SFR.

Lowenberg works as a “tele-community” planner—and will deliver his own lecture at 2:30 pm Monday, May 21 at Cloud Cliff Bakery—and advocates fiber-optic broadband Internet as a Wi-Fi alternative. But he says his interest has more to do with “economic issues.”

The scientific community is largely split about what, if any, health consequences come as a result of Wi-Fi and even cellular phones.

Steve Ross—a trained physicist, editor of Broadband Properties Magazine and a professor who has taught at Columbia University and Harvard—says many of the radiation studies are problematic.

“I do not dismiss the potential for health effects,” Ross says. “We literally don’t know the health effects. I do dismiss almost all of the studies that I’ve seen, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t keep doing them.”

Ross says that the likely health effects of Wi-Fi—and, to a lesser extent, cell phones—are relatively minimal.

“In the pantheon of potential risks, this is an extremely small one,” Ross says. Such analysis hasn’t stopped Firstenberg from warning about the prospect of far more dire consequences, although he acknowledges that finding a receptive audience can be difficult.

“Society hasn’t been ready to hear this and because of that the general public doesn’t even know that there’s a controversy,” he says. “The public just assumes that [Wi-Fi] is safe.”

Not Rebekah Azen [ http://freepage.twoday.net/search?q=Rebekah+Azen ]. She worked as a librarian at Southwestern College for little more than a month before resigning last December upon discovering there was Wi-Fi in the college library.

“I felt like the decision to have wireless without really examining the consequences is ludicrous,” Azen says. “I just think it’s sad that our society accepts new technologies without even considering the possible ill effects.”

Cancer cluster case goes to the Lords
http://www.theherald.co.uk/politics/news/display.var.1429503.0.0.php

This is a story that shows how irresponsible the British National Health Service (NHS) is, regarding cancer disclosure figures and electro magnetic radiation. There is obviously something the NHS wishes to hide about the power generation system or the electrical distribution system around Chaplecross nuclear power station, and how it is affecting the health of persons living nearby.

If the NHS is unwilling to let residents know about the health dangers that they face when living in certain areas, they should consider dropping the letter H from their title and just become the National Service. This lack of transparency by a government agency should be of great concern for all and be reason enough to oppose any future nuclear and electrical generating projects!

Re: Repacholi?

Has anyone got any real evidence that Mike Repacholi took money from the cellphone industry for himself rather than for research purposes? If so that is an astonishing indictment and would make front page news even in the UK media. I would certainly want to confront Mike Dolan of MOA with that. I would even revisit the Courtroom over it.

Hello Roger,

He received money from the Mobile Manufaturers forum - $150,000 a year plus travels and meetings expenses through an account in Adelaide hospital, see Louis Slesin's report in Microwave News, and ask him directly if you want more info. it was confirmed to him by the mobile manufaturers forum. This is enough data to make headlines and start a deeper investigation but it wouldn't make front page news by the mainstream media, it can be exposed by non-mainstream source. Why would the mainstream want to break the wonderful status quo, I can testifiy that several journalists know about it + scientific journals editors and they choose to look to the other side (like where he published his last paper, Environmental Health Perspectives journal and declared no conflict of interests, at least they were ready to correct it with regard to his consulting to the power industry after I sent them his testimonies for the industry). The EHP were reluctant to even investigate the issue despite evidence they received from several people and directions.

Iris Atzmon.
