Is electro magnetic radiation involved?

Bird populations have been dying in massive numbers around the world. A research team from Stockholm University has discovered that thiamine deficiency is causing bird deaths in the Baltic Sea area. The researchers state that: 'classical persistent organic pollutants are not primarily suspected'.

Electro magnetic radiation (EMR) has been linked to bird harm and deaths previously, so I asked Dr. Andrew Goldsworthy if EMR could be affecting their thiamine levels. His answer could be very significant in understanding why huge numbers of birds have been dying and may explain why several serious human health problems (digestive disorders and autoimmune diseases) have become far more common and widespread.

Please read the article and Dr. Goldworthy's thought provoking explanation.

Bird population declines in northern Europe are explained by thiamine (vitamin B1) deficiency

Re: Bird population declines in northern Europe are explained by thiamine (vitamin B1) deficiency

I don't know of any specific studies relating thiamine deficiency to electro magnetic radiation (EMR), but there could be a link. If we assume that the diet hasn't changed much in recent years, the problem probably arises from a failure of the gut to absorb thiamine.

The gut contains active uptake mechanisms so that it can absorb many materials, including thiamine, against a concentration gradient. It also has a tight junction barrier, similar to the blood-brain barrier, that prevents them leaking back out again. If this is compromised by EMR, thiamine could leak out as fast as it was pumped in and the birds would end up with thiamine deficiency.

This may just be the tip of the iceberg. Leaky gut syndrome appears to be on the increase in humans and gives rise to a whole series of digestive disorders as well as being linked to autoimmune diseases such as MS. It seems possible that EMR could be behind them all.

Powai - 17 May 09: A few years before, when a controversy arose on the possible ill effects of a mobile phone hub atop a multistoried building of Cuffe Parade, I was approached to submit a technical report on the subject for judicial consideration. Not being an expert on the subject, I referred the aggrieved party to a reputed and competent Scientist for the job. The report was submitted and placed before the court, who sought independent comments from the Apex Authority on Radiation Regulation in India, but was informed that the Authority deals only with “Ionizing Radiation” and could not comment on “Non-ionizing Radiation” on human being. Whereas the Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) in ionization range is known to be extremely harmful to living being, the EMR emitted by mobile or cell phones and their hubs falls in non-ionization range and little information are available on the subject.

New evidence in mobile phone tumour link

Today Tonight

Published 11 months ago

The industry that polices the nation's 20 million mobiles is repeatedly having to defend claims the phones are unsafe, but new evidence is forging a growing link to brain tumours.
