RFID 'Powder': World's Smallest RFID Tag

Having tracked the uses and abuses of RFID and GPS tracking technology for the past decade, I've watched a progression that is almost beyond comprehension. The implications are, likewise, almost beyond comprehension. Pasted below are excerpts from a recent article about RFID technology and here's a link to the latest GPS trackable shoe. RFID and the End of Privacy

Imagine a world where everything is fitted with an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) spychip, containing a unique ID for each product to differentiate it from others, and allowing it to be tracked in real time. It sounds far-fetched, but that is exactly what RFID companies like Accenture and the Auto-ID labs at MIT have been trying to do since 1999.

Government Wants To Bar-code Every Domestic Animal

Why would the government want an accounting of every single head of livestock on your little farm? If you have a single chicken, goat, sheep, cow, horse, rabbit, or other listed animal, the government will know it. If one of those animals has a baby(s), it must be reported within 24 hours of birth. If you butcher an animal to eat, it will have to be reported. If one dies of natural causes, it will have to be reported. When the “spy in the sky” beams down and determines you have an animal missing, will you be able to account for it or will you have to pay the huge fine that will be imposed?......

American Express Addresses RFID Tracking Plans For People

The top brass at American Express, chagrined at the discovery of its people tracking plans, met with CASPIAN (Consumers Against Supermarket Privacy Invasion and Numbering) last week to discuss the issue. One outcome of the meeting was a promise by American Express to review its entire patent portfolio and ensure that any people-tracking plans be accompanied by language requiring consumer notice and consent......
