Deception was used to explain tower

Published: July 21, 2009 3:00 PM
Updated: July 21, 2009 3:35 PM

Dear Editor:

In the Summerland Review of July 16, Chris Gerritsen of Telus stated that the proposed cellular transmitter to be erected off of Fyffe Road in Summerland will emit 15 watts of energy.

This is a deception used by cell phone companies to lead the public to believe that their electromagnetic radiation emissions would be similar to a 15 watt light bulb. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Electromagnetic radiation field strength is determined by wattage and frequency. A cellular telephone transmitter will emit billions times more electromagnetic radiation than a light bulb because it operates at billions of times higher frequency.

Crippled calf and electromagnetic radiation

Another country, another antenna mast and another deformed animal.

Animals living near large antenna masts become grossly deformed

A warning before you view this video! The content is shocking and unpleasant.

It shows young animals living near large antenna masts, that have become grossly deformed.

Without further information we can assume that Electro Magnetic Radiation from the antennas is causing the deformities.

I often notice many more handicapped children today, than I did in the past.

Is Electro Magnetic Radiation causing increasingly significant harm to human children?

The aversive effect of electromagnetic radiation on foraging bats – a possible means of discouraging bats from approaching wind turbines.

The article below seems to be misplaced in 'Conservation Magazine' (A publication of the Society for Conservation Biology). The article says - 'One possibility is that bats can “hear” the radar pulses, causing stress or hampering their ability to hunt for prey'.

Although EMR may save bats from the quick death from a wind turbine, what will it do in the long term?

Perhaps the great increase in electro magnetic radiation throughout North America is why millions of bats are dying of a strange new illness that also causes them to starve to death. Perhaps the magazine should be advocating safe levels of EMR so that the bats can feed and live safely.

Parents in The Acreage fear possible cancer cluster

By MITRA MALEK
Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

Thursday, June 18, 2009

Two days before a surgeon removed 5-year-old Garrett Dunsford's brain tumor, he removed a tumor from 16-year-old Kristina DeCarlo's brain.

First, thanks palm beach post for reporting this situation- personally I would rather be informed, cautious, and aware of a potential problem than wait for years for the problem to be "proven" by the state. Also, if anybody hasn't noticed, there is a large cell phone antenna/repeater right in the center of the possible cancer cluster according to the map. Do these families use pesticides and herbicides in their lawns?

Dangers of Wi-Fi in Schools

By Walter Graham, Chairman, Northern Ireland Opposing Masts (NIOM)

Wi-Fi networks wirelessly connect to the Internet – they transmit through the air using microwaves rather than through a conventional telephone line.

The government are installing wi-fi laptops in most schools in Northern Ireland without any safety testing or warnings that there could be wide ranging side-effects. Drugs undergo years of testing before they are released to the public.

Below are the first three paragraphs of a report by Dr Andrew Goldsworthy, lecturer in biology (retired), Imperial College London, which illustrates the scientific concern:

Safety code 6 standards inadequate

Published: July 14, 2009

Dear Editor:

Both Mayor Perrino and Telus have stated that the proposed cellular tower to be installed within a few hundred metres of homes and schools conform to Health Canada’s Safety Code 6.

This is the mantra used by both politicians and industry to defend their decisions to install these ultra-high frequency electromagnetic fields close to where people live.
