Gaudam Khurana, PhD, 2008. Es handelt sich um die kritische Durchsicht von ca. 100 Veröffentlichungen der neueren medizinischen und wissenschaftlichen Literatur.

Die Latenzzeit, d.h. das Zeitintervall vom Beginn des regelmäßigen Mobilfunkgebrauches bis zur Ausbildung von Hirntumoren dürfte nach Einschätzung des Autors 10-20 Jahre betragen. In den Jahren 2008-2012 dürften bereits steigende Gehirntumorraten auftreten.

In mindestens 8 internationalen Langzeitstudien ergaben sich bereits signifikante Hinweise auf einen Zusammenhang zwischen Nutzung des Mobiltelefons und der Zunahme von Gehirntumoren um den Faktor 2-4.

Die vorliegenden Hinweise auf potenzielle Gefahren und die verfügbaren neuen Technologien müssten Regierung und Industrie zu sofortigen Schritten zur Reduzierung der Mobilfunkstrahlenbelastung veranlassen. Diese Gefahr dürfte ein weiteres Umfeld erfassen als Asbest oder Rauchen, insbesondere Jugendliche und kleine Kinder.

The Floyd County Commission unanimously rejected a bid from the North Georgia Electric membership Co-Op for an electric substation on the New Rosedale Rd. just east of Haywood Valley Rd.

Nine citizens voiced opposition to the project during a public hearing Tuesday night. Several citizens expressed concerns that electromagnetic fields have been linked to increased risk of childhood leukemia.

Henry Tharpe, and attorney for the North Georgia EMC said that the substation would not have created any more of an electromagnetic field than the existing high voltage transmission lines at the site, but the commission said no.

I hope parents aren't being misled by a recent front-page story in the Arizona Daily Star ("TUSD scraps West Side cell-phone tower plans," Aug. 23). As the article indicates, Robins Elementary Principal Elizabeth Minno said the tower issue "might be brought up for discussion in the future."

I have worked on this issue for more than 12 years, both in the United States and internationally. As the article states, the debate at Robins is "a microcosm of one taking place nationwide, and it's not limited to schools. Sometimes, it's neighborhood and homeowner associations that balk at the installations," and for good reason.

Increasingly, neurological symptoms are being reported in communities where wireless transmitters are located, including poor concentration, memory loss, depression, headaches, sleep problems, as well as cancers and other diseases.
