How the tsunami warning was bungled

Scientists at the Tsunami Warning Centre in Hawaii did not use an existing rapid telecommunications system set up to get warnings around the world almost instantly because the bureaucratic arrangements were not in place.

Why We are Horrified by the Destructive Forces of Nature

...but Accept Our Own Violence

by Lucinda Marshall

The recent avalanche of American generosity towards those whose lives have been destroyed by the horrific damage of the Tsunami offers a troubling contrast to our callousness towards those whose lives have been wrecked by the man-made horrors of war. The uncomfortable reality is that the purposeful suffering inflicted by armed conflict is more morally tolerable than suffering caused by natural disasters....

Devastating tsunami bomb viable, say experts

Experiments at Whangaparaoa in 1944-45 to create a tidal wave bomb

Tsunami experts believe a bomb secretly tested off the coast of Auckland 50 years ago could be developed to devastating effect. University of Waikato researchers believe a modern approach to the wartime idea tested off Whangaparaoa could produce waves up to 30m high. Dr Willem de Lange, of the Department of Earth Sciences, said studies proved that while a single explosion was not necessarily effective, a series of explosions could have a significant impact. He was responding to a Weekend Herald report of experiments at Whangaparaoa in 1944-45 to create a tidal wave bomb. The top-secret work by the late Professor Tom Leech was detailed in 53-year-old papers released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

"It's a bit like sliding backwards and forwards in a bath - the waves grow higher," Dr de Lange said yesterday.

Nuclear experiment caused Boxing Day quake

General Facts and Speculation on Tectonic Weaponry

There seems to be a debate running among investigators between nuclear devices and more advanced electromagnetic weapons as being the cause, but we can all agree that the real cause was the
New World Order agenda carried out by sophisticated globalist social engineers and their military minions.

Arab press: Nuclear experiment caused Boxing Day quake

During his press conference at the Jakarta summit, United Nations Emergency Relief Coordinator Jan Egeland took time to address a rumour -- apparently rife in the Arab world -- that the Boxing Day earthquake had been triggered by an Indian nuclear experiment. While conspiracy theories generally abound in the wake of any large scale disaster, this one appears to have sprung from the Arab press -- or, at least, to have been given credibility by it. Israeli news outlets, which keep close tabs on Arab language news outlets, have reported sightings of the story in Arab newspapers. Both the Jerusalem Post and Arutz Sheva report that a prominent Egyptian weekly -- identified variously as Al-Osboa and Al-Usbu -- claims that India, in its heated nuclear race with Pakistan, has lately received sophisticated nuclear technology from the United States and Israel.

The paper claims, according to these reports, that India has been experimenting with this technology -- and other nuclear devices -- in the region of the Indian Ocean known as 'the Fire Belt,' which housed the epicenter of the earthquake. It said that both Israel and India are conducting nuclear tests in the Indian Ocean, and the United States has recently decided to carry out similar tests in the Australian deserts, which, it said, is also part of the Fire Belt.

Scientists in USA saw tsunami coming

Minutes after a massive earthquake rocked the Indian Ocean on Sunday, international ocean monitors knew that a tsunami would likely follow. But they didn't know whom to tell. “We put out a bulletin within 20 minutes, technically as fast as we could do it,” says Jeff LaDouce of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. LaDouce says e-mails were dispatched to Indonesian officials, but he doesn't know what happened to the information.

The problem is that Sunday's earthquake struck the unmonitored Indian Ocean. An international system of buoys and monitoring stations - the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center based in Hawaii - spans the Pacific, alerting nations there to any oncoming disasters. But no such system guards the Indian Ocean.
