Mobile Phone Masts Trigger Panic in Bristol, England

Mobile phone masts might have been declared safe. But there is no knowing. Residents of housing complex in Bristol, England are panic-stricken after three cancer deaths since two masts were erected on the roof of the five-storey block.

Another four are battling the disease. The cancer rate on the top floor - where residents of five of the eight flats have been affected and the three who died all lived - is 20 per cent, ten times the national average.

Exploring an Amphibian Epidemic

The San Francisco Chronicle's David Perlman says, "For decades, the mass disappearance of frogs and other amphibians from the High Sierra has puzzled biologists, fishermen, hikers and even motorists from the city who pause by roadside streams and lakeshores in vain attempts to glimpse whatever's there."

Orange takes down mobile phone mast from flats after seven residents struck with cancer

Orange to remove mobile mast from 'tower of doom', where cancer rate has soared

A mobile phone company is to remove a controversial mast from a block of flats dubbed the 'Tower of Doom', after seven residents were struck down by cancer.

Three residents have died and another four are battling the deadly disease since two masts were erected on the roof of the five-storey block.

Just awful...and how many more are there? We hear of plenty and we know there are hundreds around masts...just what is really out there?

Orange 'Killer' Mast Removed

Here is one you might be interested in circulating, asking people to comment "an masse" as a couple of the readers letters are so stupid and impertinent and there is no compassion for the sick, suffering people in the "tower of doom".

I found a couple of the comments so "grosse" that I commented on them, and I guess the industry must be on weekend since my comment was allowed. But see for your self.

Best regards.

Germany warns citizens to avoid using Wi-Fi

Environment Ministry's verdict on the health risks from wireless technology puts the British government to shame.

By Geoffrey Lean

Published: 09 September 2007

People should avoid using Wi-Fi wherever possible because of the risks it may pose to health, the German government has said.

Its surprise ruling – the most damning made by any government on the fast-growing technology – will shake the industry and British ministers, and vindicates the questions that The Independent on Sunday has been raising over the past four months.

And Germany's official radiation protection body also advises its citizens to use landlines instead of mobile phones, and warns of "electrosmog" from a wide range of other everyday products, from baby monitors to electric blankets.

The German government's ruling – which contrasts sharply with the unquestioning promotion of the technology by British officials – was made in response to a series of questions by Green members of the Bundestag, Germany's parliament.

Are Your Cell Phone and Laptop Bad for Your Health?

For years, opponents of cell towers and wireless technology have voiced concerns about potential health effects of electromagnetic fields. Once ridiculed as crackpots and Luddites, they're starting to get backup from the scientific community.
