Questions for those in uniform

The Price of Liberty

02/09/05

I do not believe for a moment that people in the military today are 'serving their country,' nor do I believe we 'support the troops' by sending them in harm's way, thousands of miles from home to fight wars based on lies, while thousands of illegals from foreign countries, many from countries who have sworn to destroy us, cross our virtually undefended southern border each and every day. This country's military long since ceased to serve their country, but instead, fight and die for the duplicitous State...

Firsthand look at war fuels disenchantment for some

Houston Chronicle

02/06/05

Sean Huze enlisted in the Marine Corps right after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and was, in his own words, 'red, white and blue all the way' when he deployed to Iraq 16 months later. Unquestioning in his support of the invasion, he grew irritated when his father, a former National Guardsman, expressed doubts about the war. Today, all that has changed. Haunted by the civilian casualties he witnessed, Cpl. Huze has become one of a small but increasing number of Iraq veterans who have formed or joined groups to oppose the war or to criticize the way it is being fought...

The President’s Proposal?

4 February 2005

Light Up The Darkness web site

The news was a buzz the past few days over a proposal from the President to raise the military death benefit to $250,000. It’s high time our government did this and I am not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I am somewhat curious… because I could swear I have heard this somewhere before…

Protecting Our Military Families in Times of War – Remarks of John Kerry on March 17, 2004

“As President, I will sign legislation to provide for those families who suffer a loss in war and to protect the livelihood of reservists who are called up and have to leave their jobs. This legislation will include $250,000 on top of their present life insurance policies for all service members who die in the line of duty.”

Democratic Governor Bill Richardson of N.M. has taken the lead on this issue and signed into law on Wednesday “a plan to pick up the tab for a $ 250,000 National Guard death benefit policy.”

Thanks to Richardson’s lead, “at least 16 states are now considering similar legislation,” rather than wait on the President, who’s track record on providing for our troops and veterans is abysmal. Read more at:

Worshipping Molech

by Jim Babka

Free Market News Network

02/07/05

We can truly honor Marine Corps Sergeant Byron Norwood of Pflugerville, Texas by remembering why he died. Of course, in the chest-thumping of Wednesday night the President neglected to mention why he really died. Sergeant Norwood died while seeking Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq. He, and so many others, died without finding them. They are still unfound and even his Commander-in-Chief has abandoned the search. It's time to shame those who still worship Molech and bring the troops home. But that is not what is happening...

Most shootings aren't publicized

The shootings rarely make news -- outside the towns where they occur. The military does not make a practice of publicizing cases of "collateral damage" unless by chance reporters are embedded with units and write about the events they witness.

The elections were designed to establish sectarianism in Iraq, not democracy.
