Effects of electromagnetic fields (EMFs) on the incidence of breast cancer (BC) have been proposed by a number of epidemiological studies. The molecular mechanism of the impact of EMFs on cells is not yet clear, although changes in gene expression have been reported in various cellular systems. In this investigation, the interference of low-frequency EMFs with the plasminogen activator system was examined in BC cells.MCF-7 BC cells from 2 different sources were exposed to highly homogeneous 50-Hz EMFs. Changes in gene expression were analyzed by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction. In MCF-7 cells exposed to 1.2 microT EMF expression of the urokinase plasminogen activator gene and of plasminogen-activator inhibitor-1 was markedly increased. The expression of the receptor for urokinase plasminogen activator was only marginally increased in 1 of the 2 tested cell lines and expression of the tissue plasminogen activator was at least slightly down-regulated in BC cells exposed to EMFs. EMFs may be able to increase the metastatic potential of breast tumors. The use of our newly established exposure system for EMFs may allow us to study the signaling processes involved in the induction of a metastatic phenotype of breast cancer cells.

Wie der American Chronicle berichtet, ruft Gouverneur Charlie Crist den Mai 2009 als Electromagnetic Sensitivity (EMS) Awareness-Monat aus.

In der Proklamation heißt es, dass Menschen in Florida und der ganzen Welt aufgrund der weltweiten elektromagnetischen Umweltverschmutzung Sensibilitäten gegen diese Strahlungen entwickelt haben.

Elektrosmog-Sensible Menschen entwickeln schmerzvolle Krankheiten und hypersensitive Reaktionen auf elektromagnetische Strahlungen, für die es keine bekannten Heilmethoden gibt. Zu den Krankheitsbildern, die in Deutschland von der Mobilfunkanbieter immer wieder als psychosomatische Krankheiten angegeben werden, gehören Kopfschmerzen, Tinnitus, Schwindel, Herzrasen und viele weitere Phänomene, die scheinbar aus dem Nichts über den Patienten kommen.

Though the cell phone phobia is taking over the youth and over 91.4 million Pakistanis use cell phones today, experts are of the opinion that the cell phones emit Radiofrequency (RF) energy which may increase the risk of cancer for cell phone users.

To date, many of the studies have focused on whether RF energy can cause malignant or benign brain tumors. The experts opine that the cell phone users are exposed to the radiofrequency (RF) energy, a non-ionizing form of radiation, emitted by the cell phones and due to the widespread use of this technology, there is understandable concern about the health implications of cell phone use.

“The animal experiments investigating the effects of Radiofrequency energy (RF) exposures characteristic of wireless/cell phones have suggested that low levels of RF could accelerate the development of cancer in laboratory animals. However, many of the studies that showed increased tumor development used animals that had been genetically engineered or treated with cancer-causing chemicals so as to be pre-disposed to develop cancer in the presence of RF exposure,” said Dr. Masood Ahmad, an expert, while talking.

This video is quite a shocker. It is a documentary about the US military using radioactive ammunition but not protecting their own troops or innocent civilians in Iraq, Yugoslavia and Afghanistan. When you consider that these are the same military leaders who have been involved in electro magnetic radiation testing and safety standards, it is easy to see why we are facing such danger today from EMR.

The Supreme Court of Justice has suspended the installation of cellular antennas as a precautionary measure to avoid the potential negative effects that the electromagnetic radiation could have on the population's health. Although temporary, this measure has forced América Móvil 's cellular unit Claro to suspend its network development activities in Panama. The unprecedented measure also affects Telefónica, Cable & Wireless, and Digicel, which operate cellular services in the country. The Supreme Court has asked telecoms regulator ASEP to work on a new regulation with public participation.Significance: América Móvil has been experiencing several delays in the development of its infrastructures as a result of the opposition of certain municipalities concerned about the negative impact that the installation of more antennas could have on residents' health.

The operator, which launched operations in April, currently provides coverage of 80% of the territory but planed to extend its services to 100% (see Panama: 17 April 2009).
