SGR's concerns about the power of commercial interests within science and technology have led us to compile an in-depth report - Science and the Corporate Agenda - which assesses the scale of the problems and makes innovative recommendations for solutions.
Research bias, distorted research agendas, covert funding of science communication, conflicts of interest, lack of openness etc.
...tax-payer funded research is now less likely to work in the broader public interest. These findings are based on extensive evidence across five sectors: pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, military/defence, biotechnology and tobacco. Govt. Policy on research funding has led to a worsening of all of these problems.
