This is quite interesting! Perhaps this explains the skyrocketing rates of bizarre crimes (e.g. mothers and fathers killing their two-year old children) I witnessed while living in Japan. Perhaps it also explains the unwarranted behavior directed towards me by people I have only been trying to help. It's good to keep an open mind about things!
