VICTORIA -- Saanich Peninsula farmers are worried their livelihoods are threatened by a proposal to string power lines across their fields.
B.C. Transmission Corp., the Crown corporation responsible for the electrical-transmission system in B.C., wants to upgrade its system serving the Saanich Peninsula.
The fifth and most recent proposal would see the power lines and pylons strung across fields in Central Saanich that sit mostly between Keating and Stelly's cross roads, bounded by Willow Way to the east and Seabrook Road to the west.
