Parties object to placement of 280-mile line across West Virginia

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The state Public Service Commission has granted 285 county commissions, communities, companies, groups and individuals the right to participate in a case that will decide whether two utilities will be allowed to build a 280-mile electric transmission line across West Virginia.

The Barbour, Braxton, Jefferson, Lewis, Tucker and Upshur county commissions were granted permission to intervene, or participate, in the case, as were the Jefferson County Board of Education, the city of Charles Town, the Sierra Club, the West Virginia Nature Conservancy, the West Virginia State Building and Construction Trades Council, the commission's own Consumer Advocate Division, and the West Virginia Energy Users Group, which represents large industrial electricity customers.

NV Energy's request to build a transmission line through three Henderson neighborhoods met a brick wall in the Henderson City Council on Tuesday night.

After taking more than two hours of testimony from NV Energy and concerned neighbors, who filled the council chambers and spoke against the proposal with voices that frequently rippled with emotion, the Council unanimously denied the utility's application.

Dear Martin:

I am sending you the Registered Letter to Langley School District Officials which documents all efforts so far, and puts them on notice that they are failing in their duty to protect children. This is a necessary step that every parent needs to take in order to open the way for legal action rectifying the problem of wi-fi in schools.

You will also find Non-Consent Form which restricts a child from being exposed to wireless internet in class. I have spoken with a teacher tonight who believes that this simple Non-Consent has to be honored by the school.

Please circulate to support other parents. Parents are welcome to use these documents for their own schools in their entirety or in part.
