Ein guter Artikel zur Veranstaltung am Montag, 9.3., in dem Dorf Muthmannshofen. Der geplante Senderstandort ist in der Nähe vom Gschnaidt mit seinen zwei schönen Kapellchen. Dank der regen Arbeit einiger weniger Interessierter ist es bereits die 4. Veranstaltung, die hier organisiert wurde. Nicht zu vergessen die zahlreichen Gespräche, die mit Gemeinderatsmitgliedern und Bürgermeistern geführt wurden. Ja, wenn die Dorfbewohner (und andere) nur mehr den uneigennützigen Rat von dem Vertreter der Betreiber, Kielmann, beherzigen würden: "Wenn weniger telefoniert wird, gibt es weniger gepulste Strahlung"! Diesen Satz hat Kielmann laut Zeitung so geäußert. Dann bräuchte man vielleicht gar keinen Mast mehr auf dem Gschnaidt? Oder geht es hier nicht doch mehr um Richtfunk und andere weitreichenden Techniken- WiMAX u.a. ? Damit wir dann bald die Kapellen aus der Ferne erkennen können, weil der jetzt schon schwer geschädigte Wald total abgestorben ist? Mit dem imposanten Sendeturm auf der Wiese hinter den Kapellen? Liebe Muthmannshofener, Frauenzeller, Kimratshofener: wie schön, dass man es bei Euch noch Funklücken gibt! In ein paar Jahren werden noch mehr Menschen als jetzt schon solche Oasen suchen zur Erholung oder vielleicht sogar, um auf Dauer dort zu leben. Diese Orte sollten erhalten bleiben - es wird einmal als fortschrittlich gelten, nicht per Funk erreichbar zu sein!

Tributes to tragic football death teen Oisin

Tributes were paid today to the 16-year-old schoolboy who died suddenly at the weekend while playing football.
The body of Oisin McGuinness was returned to his family home in Newry yesterday while friends of the talented youngster rallied around his devastated family.
The popular teenager, a fifth year pupil at Abbey Grammar School collapsed while playing soccer on Saturday.
Despite being rushed to Daisy Hill Hospital, the teenager — who was known to his friends as Ozzy — could not be saved.

An oncologist from Sweden's University Hospital found that after one or more years of cellphone use, there is a 5.2-fold elevated risk of malignant brain tumour in children who begin using mobile phones before the age of 20 years; the odds for other ages was 1.4.
