If mobile phone masts are undesirable outside schools - as a Government adviser has recently suggested - it is understandable that people are concerned about them being on the roof of Leicester Royal Infirmary, which, by its nature, is used by people who are already vulnerable.

Despite reassurances over the safety of masts we cannot be sure they cause no ill- effects. In the meantime, we need to be cautious and the Government must urgently review the whole issue of where they should and should not be located.
