VCS Weekly Update: Fighting in Iraq Intensifies
The fighting in Iraq intensified last week with the assault by U.S. and Iraqi forces on the insurgent stronghold in Falluja. At least 52 soldiers and Marines died in the fighting, plus an unknown number of Iraqi insurgents and civilians. During that time we, like the rest of the world, have watched and waited to see what the outcome of the attack would be, and whether, like the classic quote from Vietnam, we would "destroy the city in order to save it."
