Late Monday night, a man, now confirmed by the media as Larry Northern, age 46, decided to run over the over crosses at Camp Casey that serve as a memorial to the soldiers who have died in the war in Iraq.

According to TexasLady at DemocraticUnderground as well as Ernest Hancock from Air America affilliate KXXT, the man was soon caught and arrested by the Crawford police. Hancock stated on Air America Radio's "Mike Malloy" program, "He had some crosses in the undercarriage of his pickup truck, and he's been arrested". Hear Hancock's audio blog about this incident and stay tuned for other audio blogs from affilliate KXXT . Another audio blog message as of 10:02 p.m. . Dylan Garcia reported at DemocraticUnderground that 500 crosses had been damaged and 100 were beyond repair. SOURCE: http://www.apfn.org/apfn/mosher.htm -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Fwd: FROM RUTH MOSHER: Free Davidian prisoners: Personal comments precede! Date: Wed, 28 Feb 2001 10:23:43 -0700 From: "Jeffrey A. and L'isbeth Noelle Rothe" abbas4@qwest.net To: "Bush, First Lady Laura" first.lady@whitehouse.gov," Cheney, Lynne" mrs.cheney@whitehouse.gov CC: "Bush, President George W." president@whitehouse.gov," Cheney, Vice-President Richard" vice-president@whitehouse.gov," Allard, Senator Wayne" senator_allard@exchange.senate.gov," Campbell, Senator Ben Nighthorse" administrator@campbell.senate.gov," Tancredo, Congressman Thomas" Tom.Tancredo@mail.house.gov

Dear Mrs. Bush and Mrs. Cheney:

We chose to write this primarily to the two of you because, as mothers, you can comprehend in some small way the grief experienced by Ruth Mosher, the author of the letter below. Imagine the unending horror you would feel if one of your own children had been unlawfully subjected to death by incineration!

For many Americans Waco is the second strike in the game . Ruby Ridge predates this example of government gone mad, but fails to match it in terror or in evi- dence of tyranny! That a government designed to be of, for, and by the people would lower itself to the depths of depravity shown on April 19, 1993 is beyond our comprehension! That the victims of the conflagration would be deemed worthy of imprisonment for the audacity of choosing faith over compliance to ungodly, unconstitutional laws is beyond ludicrous! It is diabolical at best, and must be relegated to the trash heap of history!

If we are to be a nation based upon the rule of law, then obedience to the supreme law of the land must be assured! If the law and the enforcement thereof fail to stand the ultimate test of Constitutionality, it must be declared null and void! The laws to which the FBI, the BATF, Clinton, Reno, etal. deferred stand in diabolical defiance of the 1st and 2nd Amendments to the Constitution of the United States!

Please, Ladies, we beseech you to join with us in calling upon President George W. Bush and Vice-President Richard Cheney to verbalize what WE THE PEOPLE know to be true! Help bring an end to the anguish of the nation by hastening the release of the Waco survivors from unjust imprisonment! Assist us in sending a message to Danforth, etal, that business as usual will not be allowed!

We believe the requested actions to be mandatory in light of the fact that strike three has been called with the confiscation of the Indianapolis Baptist Temple. This judicial insanity was perpetrated under the watch of the present administration, and stands as evidence that much is still left to be done to return this nation to its moorings!

Our desire is that President Bush would evidence his own belief in the rule of law, from the Law of God to the dictates of the Constitution, by issuing immediate pardons for those incarcerated for their faithful stand at Waco! Further, we request that all reference to conviction and subsequent incarceration be expunged from their records! To do less is to stand in agreement with the actions taken by the Clinton administration at the behest of Hillary Rodham Clinton!

If anyone is worthy of incarceration, Ladies, it is she!

For Faith and for Freedom,

Jeffrey A. and L'isbeth N. Rothe

----- Original Message ----- From: "Ruth Mosher" rhmosher@email.msn.com

Dear Mr. President:

My request comes from having an only child killed at Waco. Her name was Sherry Jewell, a former college and high school administrator and teacher, who believed in God and living a God-fearing life. Please don't let her death be in vain by allowing the prisoners stay incarcerated for living their religious beliefs.

Many people believed that those who died could have come out before it was too late, however, realizing that others who had come out earlier were incarcerated, I'm sure made their determination to stay all the more.

If former president Clinton can pardon those who have done more harm than these few people have, the entire nation will be relieved that there is a president now who has compassion and can undo a terrible injustice that will go down in history.

February 28 is a crucial date. Please make that date an anniversary to be proud of by freeing the prisoners who deserve to be free.

Most humbly, and sincerely,

Ruth Mosher, mother of Davidian Sherry Jewell, deceased April 19,
1993, Waco, Texas email: rhmosher@msn.com

The Peaceful Occupation of Crawford (Day 10); Misses and Miracles

-- a message from Cindy Sheehan, Crawford, TX

We still have so many great things happening at Camp Casey. In spite of all the smears and lies, people are still coming.

The most amazing thing today was learning that Camp Caseys are opening and spreading all over the country. They have been set up in Boston, Portland, Seattle, and elsewhere. If you can't make it to Camp Casey, set up your own version. Camp Caseys are amazing places full of love and hope. I am so gratified that the movement is spreading.

There is a meeting tomorrow at the County Commissioner's meeting to vote on closing Prairie Chapel Road and then evicting us. We were all worried about that and planning on being arrested when we got the best news yet. The property owner who owns property near Bush's ranch and right across the street from Bush's church will let us move Camp Casey there!! He has property on both sides of the road ... a full acre for us to camp! We are so excited!!! We can fit more people and we will be closer to the ranch. Miracles, miracles.

Mike Rogers from Tokyo showed up today and a dear woman from Australia who was a human shield in Iraq and knows that the Iraqi people are not jumping for joy that the policies of Bush destroyed their country.

This is an extremely short post today ... I am exhausted.

My suspicion is that if bin Laden manages another major attack, or anyone else does, we will see something very close to martial law. It will be welcomed by all but a noisy few because it will be to make them secure and to take care of them, and give a wonderful sense of living through parlous times...

Cindy Sheehan's courage should help restore our faith in the power of individuals to speak truth to power and make a difference. Her protest is in the best traditions of this country, those of Henry David Thoreau, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Cesar Chavez. She has showered us all with her Amazing Grace.

Strip the federal courts of their power

LewRockwell.Com
by US Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX)

Congress is guilty of enabling judicial activism. Just as Congress ceded far too much legislative authority to presidents throughout the 20th century, it similarly has allowed federal judges to operate wildly beyond their constitutional role. In fact, many current members of Congress apparently accept the false notion that federal court judgments are superior to congressional statutes. Unless and until Congress asserts itself by limiting federal court jurisdiction, judges will continue to act as de facto lawmakers. The congressional power to strip federal courts of jurisdiction is plainly granted in Article III, and no constitutional amendments are required. On the contrary, any constitutional amendment addressing judicial activism would only grant legitimacy to the dangerous idea that social issues are federal matters...

Bush a coward
Niagra Falls Reporter
by staff

08/16/05

The President of the United States, who lacked the courage to serve his country during the Vietnam War, has once again shown his cowardice. Scores of brave American soldiers have given their lives since he went on vacation a couple of weeks ago. And yet, when the mother of one of our war dead -- Cindy Sheehan, whose son Casey was killed awhile back in Sadr City -- showed up at his Texas ranch asking to speak to him, he didn't even have the cojones to ask her in for a cup of coffee. Instead, he had Karl Rove contact the Drudge Report and other sleazy news outlets across the land with a couple of comments Mrs. Sheehan made to her hometown paper in Vacaville, Calif., shortly after her son's death. Taken out of context, the quotes make her look like she spoke in favor of Bush and his dirty little war. On reading the full interview, however, it is clear that, from the beginning, she thought her son had died for nothing and was -- as we all might in such a situation -- just trying to be polite to the president. What a coward. What a pathetic excuse for a man. To refuse to meet with, and then attempt to slime, a Gold Star Mother. It's inexcusable. In fact, it's beyond inexcusable...

What some moms did during their summer vacation

Arizona Republic
by E. J. Montini

08/16/05

Cindy Sheehan and I both were on vacation last week. I stayed in Phoenix. She traveled to Crawford, Texas. I went to the used record store, caught a movie, swam, got a haircut, cooked, bought a pair of jeans, knocked around with my 13-year-old, ate out, watched TV, played poker (and lost) with the lady who used to live next door, and slept late. Cindy changed America. (Yeah, well, I also purchased patio furniture.) Cindy took on the president of the United States. She left her home in California, set up camp at the end of the driveway to President Bush's ranch in Crawford and said that she wasn't leaving until he met with her. She's still there...

The War Party hates Cindy Sheehan for the simple reason that she speaks the truth -- a truth that the overwhelming majority of Americans are now waking up to. The neocons did bring us this war: they manufactured the lies, they promoted the phony 'intelligence,' they went on television predicting that the Iraqis would shower us with flowers and hosannas. They aren't scapegoats: they're the culprits, and they deserve what's coming to them -- although not nearly enough are going to be called upon to account for their actions...

Bush neighbor lets protesters use land

Carlisle Sentinel

08/17/05

One of President Bush's neighbors will allow use of his land by dozens of war protesters who have camped in roadside ditches the past 11 days, giving them more room and halving their distance from Bush's ranch. Fred Mattlage, an Army veteran, said he sympathizes with the demonstrators whose makeshift camp off the winding, two-lane road leading to Bush's ranch has angered most residents. Mattlage said the group will be safer on his corner 1-acre lot. ... For more than a week, the rural area has been a traffic nightmare as the camp attracted hundreds more protesters as well as Bush supporters holding counter-rallies. A resident was arrested Monday night after authorities say he ran over hundreds of small wooden crosses bearing names of fallen U.S. soldiers...

Medical examiner: Beaten Afghan's body "falling apart"

An Afghan detainee who died in military custody was injured so severely that his leg muscles were split apart, an Air Force medical examiner testified Tuesday in the trial of a soldier accused in the beating. Lt. Col. Elizabeth Rouse, who performed the autopsy on the prisoner known as Dilawar, said his muscles were 'crumbling and falling apart.' She testified that the injuries could have been caused by repeated knee strikes or by a fist.
